The staff are thorough and informative. They take the utmost care of your animals, and are in general very good people. Quit going to Banfield, and bring your loved one here.

Dr. Cooper has been endlessly patient and compassionate with me. I can't recommend her enough. My kitten got a raw deal with her kidneys, but the attentive and skilled staff at AMC (and I do mean everyone) got her back to her playful, sweet personality, and are helping me navigate how to give her the longest, healthiest life possible for her. 100% recommend AMC Reno.

We were blessed to have our dog at Animal Medical Center from a recommendation by our son. Our dog, Cain, was at another vet in Sparks on Pyramid Way and we never felt he got the service and love he deserved from them. At our first visit at AMC, we felt the compassion, love and knowledge to know that we found the right place. He was fortunate to have the team care for him through good health until his passing of cancer. Their love and compassion and care was consistent at ALL times when he went in--and most notably at his last visit. We always got in when we needed; they NEVER overbooked, and they always had his name on the room where he was to be seen. Little things done right leads to be things done right. EVERYTHING they do is first rate. Once we are ready for another dog, Animal Medical Center is the ONLY place we will take our dog.

these people do not care about your pet, only money. I’ve had two dogs in their care and no matter the doctor, they won’t listen to you. my dog has had a bloody rectum since august. The woman doctor tells us he has a hemorrhoid and has us go to a human pharmacy to pick up antibiotics for him. ok fine. when that doesn’t work, we see the Dr. Lewellen who tells us it isn’t a hemorrhoid it’s his food he’s allergic to. Doesn’t look at his rectum at all. Then for our recheck appointment two weeks after being on prescription food, he tells me my dog looks good. Only to come home 30 min later and he’s bleeding worse than ever so clearly, he did not examine the rectum, which has been the main clear issue i’ve been talking about for months to them??? Then Barbie, the front desk person will hang up on you for being a scared/concerned pet owner while trying to gaslight me and say my dog’s bottom was examined. they didn’t. they lied. they do not care to help my dog. crooks. don’t make the same mistake i did with trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. they do not care.
EDIT: no they did not check him thoroughly or offer me to recheck him free of charge. lies!

I have been to the Animal Medical Center of Reno twice and am so pleased with the staff and Dr Cooper that I have changed my veterinarian from Mt View Animal Hospital to this veterinarian center. They were so good to me and my pup Joey. Look forward to many years with them.

This has been the best vet experience I have had. Dr. Lewellan was incredible and spent a considerable amount of time with me and my dog to make sure I understood all the information pertaining to my pups condition. He sat on the floor and made a great effort at making my anxious dog super comfortable! She was even giving him kisses, something she has NEVER done to a stranger before!

I would be happier to see the vet more. Our cat went in for dental work, because the vet recommended it. $2,200.00 later we pick up our cat. We did not see the vet after the surgery. We saw his a assistant. My son took our cat back for the follow up appointment. Only to be met by yet another technician. I read reviews to this very complaint. I am inclined to agree that you will be lucky to visit with the vet more than once. Annette

I am traveling from Ohio and my kitty started having some issues for the past couple days. I googled "vets near me" and I found this animal hospital for cats. The receptionist answering my call was very helpful and understanding, and she showed a lot of compassion to me in my distressed state. It is very hard when you are traveling far from home with your fur babies and know no one or any place around.
I truly appreciate this office and staff, from the receptionist and to Sammy, the tech, and especially to the veterinarian, Dr. Taormina.
They took very good care of us. Thank you, Animal Medical Center of Reno.

I have taken my pug Iris here for years and have always been happy with the professional staff and excellent care she gets.
I believe they now have some emergency services, but even before they did they helped to clear the decks and get Iris in when she got poisoned by something on the ground about 3 years ago. They hooked her up to warming fluids after her temperature rapidly dropped by 6-7 degrees and called ahead to the emergency animal hospital to get her in there. Without their help, who knows how things would have played out.
All in all, an excellent choice for a vet in Reno.
