I work a few doors down and came here after being let down elsewhere in town. It was nice to be able to leave it while at work. They were able to handle my tire without much notice. Service was great and this is a nice locally owned shop. Highly recommend these great folks!Service: Tires

Total crookery. They charged $2,964 to fix my car. They had it for a week. They promised they'd "get it fixed and taken care of." I was so excited to finally get my car back, once I swiped my credit card....my fate was sealed. I couldn't even drive it a quarter mile from the shop without blatantly recognizing that it was in fact no better than when I brought it in. Follow-up attempts to make this right have been completely dismissed. STAY AWAY. I've never been so taken advantage of by a "service" shop. I

I wasted an hour of my time on Alpha Tire. Mr. John Deleon is the owner who I personally consider to be an unprincipled business operator. I called him after a flat tire the previous day on Hwy. 80 not far from his shop off Mae Ann in Reno. He represented that he could fix the flat tire but when I arrived and he looked at the tire, he said it was not reparable and because I have an AWD Lexus RX350 I would have to replace all 4 tires. The tires were purchased at Costco and are less than one year old so I declined his service "offer" and went to Costco where they said that the flat was caused by a screw from something I had probably run over and that it was otherwise fine and the other tires on the car were in excellent shape. And they charged me NOTHING!Actually ZERO stars if it were a choice.

I brought my 2014 GMC Sierra there initially for a transmission oil leak and frank fixed it on the spot, it was a loose nut, so I thought what an awesome honest place. WELL now that Ive brought it back for more serious auto repairs like brakes and catalytic converter, I realized that John the owner is a complete snake in the grass liar and refuses to take responsibllity for installing the wrong catalytic converter in my truck. I brought it back to him 5 times with the check engine light illuminated and they couldn't make it go out. Frank( one of johns mechs) whom I respect and I were discussing this and John says," do whatever frank tells you" so I took it to Corwin GMC of Reno and of course its the wrong catalytic converter, they fixed it and told me he should have known not to put an after market Catalytic in my truck. John now after me giving him 55 days to make it right is blaming everything on his vendor saying the Cat I brought back from GMC was damaged and giving me every excuse in the book to not reimburse me the cost of that and his labor. I just today aug 23 was told by John not to step foot on his property again after he told me the vendor needs to have him run a diagnostic on my truck to prove the check eng light is off. I was coming back today to do that and got the call that frank doesn't want to deal with me according to John who won't let me finish my sentence when I'm talking to him and has to tell me repeatedly how long he's been in the industry and how much he knows about cars. John is a weezle, Liar, non stand up guy who couldn't man up and make this right. I am now in the process of suing him which I tried to avoid but when dealing with scumbags like him, you gotta do what you gotta do. Don't let him touch your brakes either, he puts in the cheapest crap he can get his hands on then ups the price of that and charges ridiculous labor for installing crap!!!! I've never had to sue anyone in my life up until now but I'm going to take great pleasure in this process. Stay away from Alpha tire. Wish I'd read the reviews about this clown!!!

Alpha is the best, don't believe the naysayers! I've been dealing with John, Frank, & Carlos for years! I'm Steve Barnes the Co-Owner of the largest black vehicle service in Lake Tahoe and they're the best hands down!

Absolutely abysmal service. They should definitely not have "car care" in their title since they couldn't care less about your vehicle. And they take ZERO responsibility for something they did wrong. The reason that they are able to get people in so quickly is because their service is abhorrent (both customer service and their quality of work) and people with any self respect go to more reputable businesses. I'm kicking myself for not having looked at the reviews beforehand. If you are fine with taking a gamble on the quality of work done to your vehicle, by all means. But I 100% do not recommend this place.

My dad is an older gentleman and had his truck worked on here. My dad supplied the replacement part but they charged him about $350 for an hours worth of work replacing the fuel filler neck going to the gas tank on his truck. When he got home, I checked their work only to see they just left it loose dangling there and didn't put the clamp back on that holds it in place. what even makes it better is they gave my dad the old part back with the clamp still on it. I tried to call them multiple times about it and no one seems to answer the phones so I went ahead I finished the job for them. From reading other reviews it seems they do spotty work (obviously) and try to take advantage of people, replace things that don't need replacing and over charge for everything too.

After installing my winter tires at 'Alpha tire' in Reno, tomorrow I am taking my car to a shop I know I can trust to ensure my tires are safely functional. They were not that busy, and if this represents their level of service quality, I think I know why. One of several examples included inflating the tires at various pressures ranging from 32lbs to 40lbs. The owner seemed like a nice guy, and I hope he gets this straightened out.

I have been taking my vehicles here since they opened. They have always been up-front with repair costs, and helping me prioritize future repairs. Their work is consistently exceptional. Great owner, great employees, great business.

Carlos is awesome. He worked at a Subaru Dealership previously so he's very knowledgeable about Subarus. He saw me at 3 pm on a Thursday to fix my broken brake light; the whole thing took 25 minutes. The waiting room could be improved but the shop is no-fuss and gets the job done. I'll be booking my next couple of car appointments with them!

My wife took her car there to get a diagnostic to pinpoint what was throwing the check engine light. Charged my wife a ridiculous almost 500$ to replace a valve cover and when she left the store the car had trouble starting, and now the next day, won't turn over.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Owner charged me $77 to look at the vehicle. He did not repair the issue, but told me I needed a new engine. He quoted me an engine price without really asking me much questions. Told me I had warped heads and water in the oil. $77 inspection would be pretty cheap to remove all the parts on the engine to actually see the heads not to mention the time it would take. Dip stick showed no milky quality to oil and later on the oil change I did came back with no water in the oil. I ended up having to fix the part myself in the parking lot and wasted $77 for a bunch of lies.Services: General repairs & maintenance
