They do nothing but rape you of money and we are going to have to put our cat to sleep because they did not act in a timely manner. “Come back in a week” but they can’t get you in for a month unless it’s “emergency” and an extra charge. Eff this place and everyone who works here. I will not take any animal here or refer anyone here either.

We brought our first Aussie, Princess, to you 28 years ago. When the family decided to get another furbaby we knew where to go. Excellent vet and very close to my place of employment - just in case. Thank you for a great first puppy visit for our sweet and handsome Charlie.

As someone who was once a Customer Service Manager at another local veterinary hospital, I feel compelled to say how appalled I was by the lack of communication by the staff at CVVH. All that was needed was someone to keep us informed of how much longer we would be waiting and to reassure us that the lights weren’t going to be shut off with us locked in as it was closing time. COMMUNICATION...... it’s easy really.

While camping a couple hours away from Reno, our dog needed emergency surgery. We were able to get him to Carson Valley, where they performed surgery late into the night. Dr. Sanford is a wonderful and caring doctor. Thank you for saving our boy

I ended up here due to very tragic circumstances- my dog Uno was badly burned from a steam vent or hot mud during a whitewater rafting trip on the East Fork Carson River. We arrived after a difficult day of figuring out how to safely evacuate a 17lb badly burned dog out of a fairly remote river canyon without injuring him further. Although he was stable when he arrived at the hospital, it was soon clear that his injuries were even worse than we believed. ALL the staff I met that day (5/20/20) were incredibly compassionate, warm and competent. From the first veterinary tech who removed Uno from my vehicle to the front desk staff, to the doctor who treated my dog, they were so consistently excellent. Even with everyone having to wear face masks due to COVID-19, the concern and love that was obvious in the eyes of each person I interacted with was so helpful, especially in a moment when I was suffering, knowing that in all likelihood my dog was too badly injured to be saved. Although the final outcome was euthanasia, the staff made this process less painful than it could have been. I may never end up walking through these doors again with one of my other pets, but THANK YOU!

As any pet owner you are always concerned with your pets well being. I ended up waking up to my dog vomiting at 1 am, not just food but he was also vomiting well..... grass and foxtails. It was clear he had foxtails stuck in his throat. I jumped into action and called another emergency veterinary hospital close to home with the hopes they could help my boy. They pretty much told me my dog didn't have foxtails in his throat and I was sent on my way......... later that next morning I scheduled an appointment with Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital and they instantly knew what was going on and brought my boy into surgery finding not 1 but 3 foxtails in my dogs throat! They have been hands down the best vets I have dealt with. Very knowledgeable and professional with only the well being of your pets in mind. They treat your babies with so much love . Thank you Dr. Koster and staff

This hospital and it's doctors, after trying 3 other hospitals, was the only one that could diagnose and treat successfully my pet's problem. They have several who specialize in different fields and Dr's Talbet and Danielson were the ones who helped me. Will continue to use this hospital.

I had a reference to bring my puggle in to have her checked out here. Because I want her to breathe better we had x-rays done (negative I guess, never saw the Dr. just a girl who told us at the car). We received 2 prescriptions and when they ran out I needed to know if I needed both of them going forward because something was working and we were all sleeping better. I had to wait 2 days for Dr Mull to get back into the office. When he did I received a call at 3 pm and they were sending the 1 prescription to wallgeeens by my house to be filled. GREAT!!! I get a call later that evening saying they couldn't send it in and I needed to drive 45 mins to get the paper to bring to Walgreens. Well, OK I will go, just to get my girl back on schedule. She was bad within 24hours of not having the medication. I picked it up and dropped it off at Walgreens. 2 hours down but it will be worth it so she and I can sleep without her coughing all night. Next hour Walgreens calls and says no dice to the prescription. WHAT???? The clinic did not put their correct DEA# on the prescription. So no go and no call or any kind of fax or email or even call can fix the error. Today I called and asked if they had a solution other than me taking 2 hours to go and get it again. They said nope. I asked yesterday if I could get one pill to last her through the day and they said the pill was inexpensive but it was $15 to put it into a bottle. I asked if anyone was going from their office to Reno today and was told no nobody without her putting me on hold for even 5 seconds. I live off of 395 by 3 mins and Walgreens isn't much further. Not even a thought that I could meet someone in Carson half way. I told them I am done and will start this process again with a vet who might care for my pet but will also value and respect my time. They failed and will not take responsibility for the situation. I am a yes person and when my businesses have clearly failed a customer I am quick to fall on my sword to make everything better so they know that the apology is sincere and I will go way out of my way to make things right. That didn't happen here for sure.

I've taken my dog to this veterinary hospital a few times. In general, I think they tend to over treat the dogs with lots of unnecessary procedures and medications. The last time I brought him in was for a cancerous tumor on his neck. They ended up performing an ultrasound. Because of the coronavirus, I was not allowed in with my dog. When they brought him out to the car, they didn't say anything about his neck or that they had shaved it or anything else. I didn't realize until I got home that he had been shaved. His neck was highly abraded and bleeding. This will be the last time I take my dog there. The vets may be pretty good but the coordination between the vets and the front desk is terrible. One doesn't know what the other one is doing. They really need to coordinate better.

So my first experience here was a bad one, and I was sure that we'd find another vet close to our newly built home in Gardnerville. We moved into the new house in July 2019 and despite my horrible experience with CVV prior to the move, my husband said he'd been treated well when he took our 2 dogs in, didn't mind weighing them himself and was going to continue using CVV for the dogs. He told Dr. Ross (Cameron) of my experience with Chanel, and Cameron told him that he would like me to give them another chance and to ask for him when I made the appointment. I started fostering kittens for DAWG right after moving, and my foster coordinator Linda told me to give CVV another chance and to ask for Cameron. Since he'd told my husband that he'd do his best to make my feeling of the clinic better, and then Linda telling me she knew Cameron (Dr Ross) because she used to work for him as a tech before retiring, I decided to give it another try. Now it gets a 5-star review and I highly recommend this vet practice. The hours are generous and accommodate busy people. I've not had another experience like my first one with the clerks at the front having personal conversations. Since CVV is the clinic DAWG uses for foster animals, I've taken numerous pets, my own and fosters, and I'm impressed. We chose Cameron Ross as our regular vet for our own pets (Charlie and Lucy, our 4-year-old yellow Labradors), and our growing family of felines. We have 3 old cats Elliot (12), Chanel (11) and Heidi (8). We adopted 3 of our foster kittens Reba, Bailey, and Kahlua because they (1) got our old lazy cats up playing and running about, and (2) weren't afraid of the dogs like our old cats were. Despite some days feeling like idiots for having 8 animals, it works out great because now Elliot, Chanel and Heidi aren't afraid of the dogs anymore! Anyway, we've had several urgent care visits for sudden issues. The longest we've waited is about 20 minutes. Usually Cameron is booked and we can't see him for urgent care, but we've met several of the other vets and have been pleased with the service and compassion. Most recent experience was Lucy to see Cameron for a shoulder injury, getting home and having to run right back with Bailey who'd stuck his arm in the door jam and we didn't know it and slammed the door. He gets his cast off tomorrow but he's been fine! We asked for an ownership stake since we have 8 animals. During kitten season we're bringing in kittens for vaccines and most often treatment for diarrhea or sneezing. Highly recommend. All of the veterinarians are wonderful and friendly and compassionate. Most of the vet techs are really good. There are a couple that in my opinion need more training and experience but that's the case anywhere.

I took my dog for a dental cleaning and they chipped three teeth. The canine missing a big chunk. They didn't admit they did it, I took my dog with all her teeth complete and now instead of doing something good to preserve the dental health of my pet they actually did the opposite. The other tooth chipped is one in the front...one of those tiny tooth. I don't know what type of barbaric tool they use but apparently is a tool that leave the teeth in worse shape than ever. I'm pretty disappointed. They didn't admitted the damage.

New to the valley and so far like this vet hospital. Only gave it a 4star because they have long waits, sometimes. Dr Scott Warner is great with our lab. He's thorough and gets down on the floor with Tanner. You can tell he really loves dogs. We had to take our other dog in for an emergency at 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Her ear was torn and she was bleeding profusely. They took her right back to rap her head until we saw the vet Dr Josh Mull. While we had to wait about 30 minutes, related to other emergencies ahead of us, they took her back right away. We opted to go home until we could pick her up a few hours later. All in all are happy bringing our animals there.
