Not the final review of 2023 I was hoping to write but unfortunately, it became time to put our baby girl, Beastie, to sleep. From making the appointment on the phone, to interacting with the staff in person, everybody was caring, sympathetic, and patient. In a strange twist, while I was filling out the paperwork, our dog ended up passing away in my wife's arms...right there in the waiting area. The girls at the desk took her into a room to verify and unfortunately, did confirm that she had passed. They gave us a private room to say our goodbyes, and handled all of the paperwork/payments privately so we wouldn't have to go back into the waiting room. We ended up going with the option to have her cremated and ashes returned to us and to have her paws molded. Obviously, they removed the euthanasia charge from the final bill. I would highly recommend this place to every dog parent. They truly care for your pet and are very kind. Below is the final picture of our baby. It was taken in the parking lot, just seconds before she passed. She loved the mountains very much.

Thank you Dr Warner and all clinic staff for the genuine care you provided for our Zeus. We were on vacation in South Lake Tahoe when we noticed an infection of the anal gland on our lab mix Zeus. None of the vets in South Lake Tahoe were able to take Zeus in but Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital was able to get us in for an after hour visit with Dr Warner the same day. The staff was very courteous and understanding. Everyone took their time to walk us through the check in and care needed for Zeus despite the late time of the day. Dr. Warner performed the operation and him and his team walked us through the after care step by step. We were able to take Zeus home the same night. We are grateful for Dr. Warner and the hospital staff for being there for us and Zeus and providing a genuine and caring experience. It gives us great peace of mind to know the clinic team is there for us and Zeus next time we return or Tahoe.

We were up skiing last weekend and my pup got bit (by our other dog ). It was obvious he needed to be stitched up. Carson Valley Vets were so accommodating and made sure they could fit Buddy in that day. It's a beautiful drive from Soutj Lake to Minden btw! The care at CVV was top notch. Dr. Nick was amazing. He showed true concern and love for our old pup. Buddy is 17 so he explained the best options for sedating an older dog. An hour later Buddy was all stitched up and ready to go. He's back to his old self except a shaved ear! A big thank you to all the staff at CVV especially Vicki and Levi. If you ever find yourself in need of vet care while you're enjoying the Lake or Slopes I highly recommend Carson Valley Vet.

Don’t go here. Called for help. But apparently offering any help is above their pay grade. Extremely UNPROFESSIONAL response to someone who is asking for help. “That’s above my pay grade.” WELL MAYBE YOU SHOULDNT BE IN A FACILITY THAT HELPS. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING RESPONSE TO SOMEONE OBVIOUSLY IN NEED OF HELP FOR THEIR PET. My response here and over the phone was and is completely justified. The receptionist deserves to be fired. Absolutely disgusting.

I am submitting the following statement to express my sincere interest in the reimbursement position. On October 4th, I came into your veterinary hospital, Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital, with my 3-year-old canine named Luna, distressed of a possible pregnancy. I knew Luna had accidentally mated with my neighbors dog on September 17th. I made sure to share this vital information to the hospital. If Luna was pregnant, my intention was to get her spayed that same day to interrupt the pregnancy. Before bringing Luna in, I did express I wanted to confirm pregnancy through an ultrasound; and only if she was pregnant I would proceed with the spayed process that same day. If she was not pregnant, I would re-shedule the surgery (because I was not abe to afford the $600 - $800 cost; however, if pregnant I would find a way to make the payment possible because I am not able to care for puppies at this moment.). The tech that assisted us during the ultrasound denied pregnancy but was concerned whether it was too soon to confirm gestation and suggested a follow up appointment, but thought she should first consult this with the Dr. that performed the ultrasound ...Dr. Josh. She came back stating that Dr. Josh is positive Luna was not pregnant and a follow up meeting was not necessary. I left the hospital happy and satisfied because I did not have to put Luna through any surgery procedure / recovery process, and of course because according to Dr. Josh we were not expecting puppies. Three weeks later, I noticed Lunas belly more prominent. I left Dr. Josh a voice message conveying my concern of Luna's pregnancy. I never received a response. I called the hospital on the fourth week asking for a refund because I was positive Luna was pregnant and the hospital advised I to take Luna in for another ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy. Instead I took my dog to Roundhill Vet so that they could affirm gestation. Dr. Kelly stated what was evident, that my dog is indeed pregnant and lactating. I demanded a full reimbursement of the $200 dollars I payed Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital. They refused the refund stating that the service was provided and that at the time Luna was not pregnant. A nonsense statement because gestation period shows the contrary. I was given wrong information during our visit; information I now have to pay the consequences by caring for puppies I was not ready for.

I tried this hospital because the one in my city had no available doctors and I had an appointment at 12:30 moved it bc they made a mistake and set my appointment during the doctor's lunch. told me the doctor would be ready by 15 mins and that was fine. I asked if I can wait in my car and gave them my parking spot number. its been 20 mins and I went back in to check and they told me they're gonna put my car on watch again???? and gave them my parking number spot once again. Waited for a complete HOUR and saw countless of people being helped, going in and out. Im sorry to assume but I AM gonna assume y'all are just racists or completely just forgot about my cat and I. After a whole damn hour waiting I just decided to leave. I usually don't even bother leaving reviews in places but this one truly disappointed me. My cat NEEDED to be checked out but instead was prioritized last. I DO NOT recommend this place and I will never come back.

We've had rescue dogs for almost 40 years & worked dog rescue for 30 of those 40 years. Dr. Cameron Ross, vet tech Sierra McMaster & the wonderful staff at Carson Valley Vet Hospital are the BEST! We also had top notch vet care from Dr. Buffo & Dr. Sheets. The administrative staff including the customer service staff are charming & efficient. Our small pack is very blessed to be under the care of CVVH!

Recently had to make a Saturday appointment for the euthanasia of our sixteen-year-old cat. (The appointment was made two days prior). Dr. Hoult & Technician Ophelia were wonderful! They took their time with us & were extremely professional and compassionate. However, I wish they worked for another hospital. Have been there before, but chose another clinic because of their outrageous fees. The cost to put down our nine pound cat? $256!!! I consulted a vet I previously worked for, asking what she currently charges, thinking that maybe the drug prices possibly increased substantially since I worked in the field. She currently charges $75, with no same day charges. As far as the "same day appointment" charge: I called their bookkeeper and asked why it cost me $100 for the appointment, even though I called two days prior. She told me that they are booking appointments five weeks out right now, and anything sooner is considered "same day." This I was not made aware of when I made the appointment. She graciously refunded $30 to my credit card, for which I am appreciative. I'm sure they don't need my business, but I would forewarn anyone thinking about establishing a relationship w/this animal hospital to take this into consideration. I currently take my animals to a smaller clinic, with great service & much lower charges. PLEASE, Carson Valley Vet, stop overcharging your clients!

I find it hard to leave a review at all, But I found this vet by someone suggesting them to me. I am thankful for them doing so. I had my Shepard put down at the end of April due to health complications that lead him to the end of his life. The office staff showed sympathy & made no judgment by the way I left the office in tears. A few months went by & I rescued another Shepard from the local shelter. I had called to make an appointment just to have the vet look at him also to answer a few questions I had about prolonging his life in the future. The Doc was helpful & made a few Suggestions that I am still pondering. I would definitely suggest this place to anyone who cares deeply for their 4 legged family Members.

Appointments policies are unfair. No way to make an appointment the next day you have to call that morning so they can charge for an emergency visit. After multiple surgeries and spending tons of money they charged me $70 for a missed follow up appointment . They never sent a reminder. Can you give less than a one star. STAY AWAY!!!!!!
