Carson Tahoe Medical has lost my trust after 10 years. Unnecessary reestablishment appointments had been scheduled to generate revenue for Carson Tahoe Health each time a Doctors/Nurse Practitioners left the clinic. The high turnover of MDs/NPs created this so called need for an office visit. Instead of referencing the mychart system patients are required to fill out medical paperwork as if this information was unknown. The mychart system seems useless to staff since the re-evaluation fails to recognize the patient's existing medical history. Random billing codes are used for the reestablishments which do not reflect the fact the patient did not initiate or request the services charged. The Carson Tahoe Clinic in Carson city was scheduled when staffing in Minden was short staffed between new hires. Additionally, The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services Office for Consumer Health Assistance was contacted and successfully resolved an over charge in the amount of $430.00 after Carson Tahoe Health, Carson City, clinic refused to correct the error. I have not returned since.

Completely dysfunctional in Minden. I pay $1,200 a month for insurance and they've now lost my last four doctors/nurse practitioners in the last two years. Now all that's left is nurse practitioners, but it's still 1-1/2 months to get an appointment. I can't get my prescriptions ordered, and when I have, I've had to incur additional costs for the new person to get up to speed and see me before writing any prescriptions. Today they forced me to drive to the Walk In Clinic in Carson City, where I've been waiting for over an hour to get one prescription filled as the earliest appointment I could get in Minden with my latest nurse practitioner is 6 weeks out.

I had gone in to the emergent care last week and was treated very poorly. I had gone there for an ankle injury. They did no x-rays, no tetnic shot but said it was infected.. literally got no help at all. I was absolutely miserable and in pain. Never again will I refere this place to anyone..

Came in for a bone density scan on June 22nd. It is now July 17th and my doctor's office has still not received the results. I cannot get through to anyone on the phone. Now I am resorting to sending a snail mail letter and email to patient experience. No tests results but they've received payment for services.

I went to urgent care for sore throat sinus pain ear pain on 4/27/23 was seen by Burns NP who has no heart or empathy for people. I explained it hurts to wear my hearing aids and glasses and my throat is very sore with tonsils swollen. I explained that my Grandaughter’s baby shower is 4/29/23 and I would like to attend if she would prescribe an antibiotic. She refused stating I have a virus and it’s going to have to run its course. I asked if she could prescribe an antiviral and was refused again. Instructed to use nasal spray and Sudafed. I am 69 years old how many baby showers will my grandchildren have while I’m still alive? Today I am missing an important family gathering. My symptoms are worse I have no voice and now have a productive cough with more pain. Little does she know she refused treatment to an RN who has been a nurse since 1976 before NPs or PAs existed. I will pass on some words of Wisdom from a long ago patient of mine. “Be nice to me for one day you will be old too.” No worries Ms Burns I am going to see my Doctor and will Never trouble you again. Husband just went in for treatment of strep throat. He is autistic and I typically go with for better communication amongst ourselves, doctors and nurses as he can get overwhelmed but he went solo this round. Dr. Kenney was wonderful but the nurses Beth Boschee and Sue Etchogyen were incredibly rude, rough with the strep swab and even more rough with the penicillin shot he needed. It is very rare that he complains about anything so hearing this from a man who normally just keeps quiet is bothersome. After consulting with a family friend who has also been to Carson Tahoe Emergent Care many a time, it appears these two nurses in particular have a tendency to act this way towards most patients. How disgusting that these are not only the type of people you employ but continue to allow to “care” at your establishment. Aren’t employees meant to be a direct reflection of the company itself? Perhaps a meeting on bedside manners and proper care? As a former CNA the lack of manners and roughness is concerning. Do better, Carson Tahoe.

Charged me twice for my appointment that they said I was paid in full for. I went back and forth with the billing department, they even admitted that is was error and refused to take the additional charge off my account. Will not be going back because they do not care about their patients or mistakes, they just want your money. Pathetic!

Carson Tahoe Hospital staff are the most uncaring, lazy, good for nothing personnel on the face of this planet. Their incompetent doctors must order their degrees online at the same place you can fake register your dog as a seeing eye companion. They are unprofessional, cold hearted and worthless. The administration of this hospital is the same way; that's why they tend to hire staff that have no clue what compassionate caring is. The only thing that will change the horrific operations of this hospital and its medical staff is if they themselves or a loved one experience the same category of "treatment" you are sure to receive in their ER and in patient stays as well. While I'm at it, the Carson City paramedics must be reject nurses from the same training station....absolutely horrible treatment. Then they all send you riduculous bills for "services" never rendered. At 300 am they sent me home with a very large pill still lodged in my esophagus (sic?) after 7 hours of laying in a dark room in agony, drooling and peeing all over myself. They gave me a numbing agent to swallow as they booted me out. It came out of a used prescription bottle....know what it numbed nothing. The doctor said it was all in my head. It took me 35 minutes of agony to force down my throat a bowl full of broken pieces of bread soaked in milk kneeling down on my kitchen floor sobbing. I was drooling by the time I left the ER. I got huge bills from the fire department, doctors & hospital ER use. I wrote a 39 page letter to administration when the doctor refused to call in a specialist in the middle of the night for someone "who can't pay for their services," and "I'll be wasting their time when there's nothing stuck in there...it's all in your head." Naturally, the administrative department backed the play of their incompetent, uncaring ER practicing 'physicians.' That night was like being in a Twilight Zone episode. A couple times a "nurse" popped in real quick (while I was sobbing uncontrollably and soaking wet, to shove a needle in my arm full of something she didn't even identify to me first. I have an internal bleeding reaction to half dozen antibiotics and other types of medicine; she didn't even check with me first to inquire as to any potential negative reaction I may have to whatever it was she stuck in me.

1.0 star rating 7/19/2022 I'm writing this review After my first visit to this facility. I WaIted over a Month for this appointment .. I have had great sucsess in my 67 yrs of life with primary and surgeons ongoingly over the years.with kiaser.. and enjoyed a super repore with my dr of many years in Cali ... I'm handicapped both legs. Currently recovering from surgery. (6 months ). I've a cancer issue and was seeking a primary care dr ( Was) I arrived on time presented my Medicare info ....soon to be in office with dr Allison steinMetz at Carson tahoe family medicine. After a pleasant conversation re my surgery and other concerns. I requested a couple of prescriptions. This is where the good dr who was very helpful up to this point ...at this point I felt i was in a surreal movie with a prison infirmary dr treating me as if I was a criminal, ..How dare I ask for a prescription. Having paid for health costs insurance all of my life. I'm not a d*** 22 yr old who reply's with yes dr. Ok. I asked and was greeted with a scowling lecture regarding drugs and how this dr and only she Would issue a prescription after I was drug tested .. ok. Wow. ( If that not a assumption I don't know what is,) Ths dr. Has infront of her almost my life medical history On computer , And I'm not d**** This is not my first rodeo ...She Can see I have past prescriptions and zero history of abuse.( I bet I have more federal licenses that the good dr has ) But on this day with this dr it was hey buddy. I'm gonna asume you abuse prescriptions ignore past medical records and treat a brand new 67 yr old patient as if I'm abuser... I didn't like this ...treatment one bit! ... First time here. Crap treatment little explanation. Nada. is it policy to treat patients like junkies ?it Felt like it, Then as I exited her room ,she proclaimed. And I quote." He's one of them " to the nurses whom heard her. Really?? and that means what?? And how dare I expect a medical dr to be open minded ..look at one's history. And treat a client with respect. I'll finish my business with this facility and find another doctor. .. drs are not above being held accountable. I rarely write a review like this. But the judgemental comment at the end of my visit was outrageous !,,,, And why I did not blow this experience off!!! in my opinion Steer clear of this judgemental dr ... Next stop a letter to ,bbb. Google maps ,Management ,then licensing ! Pretty pissed off

I have always brought myself and family here throughout the years. I always received stellar care. The past 3 times I've been here my care has not been the same. I feel like I'm paying a lot of money to get care that I could have received from an urgent care or elsewhere. One time I went for shortness of breath and pain with inhalation. I was advised it was a muscle. Four weeks later I saw my pcp whom ordered an X-ray. I had pneumonia that finally resolved once treated. Another time I took my child, I was advised that it was just a cold. Three weeks later, my child's pediatrician treated her with steroids and antibiotics because she heard her wheezing still. I'm in the medical field and understand times have been hard and more difficult. I see burnout more than ever. It's just sad to see. Yes this place is very clean and usually you can get in faster than the main hospital ER. The lab and radiology facility part is really nice and usually kind people are working there. The ER tech was nice too. I would say make sure you advocate for yourself or family member when going to healthcare facilities.
