I think I should have read the reviews first. Took my 4Runner to VIP Auto Service, on Rancho Dr., Las Vegas, for the advertised cheap oil change. After a few minutes wait, Chris came to the lobby and asked for me. He took me to the shop where my car sat on a hoist. Chris pointed to various "serious problems." 1st, valve gasket oil leak ("leaking like a seive," said Chris). 2nd the Rack & Pinion is "shot, and must be replaced." 3rd the front brakes are "gone." I explained i had a Master mechanic and would discuss these issues with him. He retorted, "Then why hasn't he already alerted you to these problems?" I paid my bill (about $15) and left. The next day, while I was away from the house, my wife called me and said there was a huge puddle of oil on the garage floor. I rushed home, and sure enough there was a puddle of oil where I parked my car (not a "huge" puddle, but a puddle, nevertheless). I cleaned it up, layed down a sheet of paper so I could see all drips, and brought my car into the garage. Then I got down on all fours and looked underneath, watching for drips. That's when I noticed something hanging down from the engine. My heart took a nosedive - 'Oh, s..t, I really do have serious engine problems' I thought to myself. So, I turned over on my back and scooted underneath. I then reached up and felt what was hanging down... It was cloth, and it was wet with oil. I pulled on it; it was wedged. I got it out. It was a shop cloth drenched in oil, wedged between the lower engine guard and the Rack & Pinion.
I won't quote myself at this point... The next day I took my car to my mechanic of 20 years. Results: #1 there is a "small" leak in the valve cover gasket. No emergency. #2 there is nothing wrong with the Rack & Pinion. #3 the front brakes need to be replaced within a few months or so - no worries.
The oil soaked shop cloth wedged into the engine SAYS IT ALL folks.

I really like Chris. I've been here before and have learned a wealth of knowledge from him. He always seems upbeat. He is an asset to VIP.

Got a Groupon for an oil change here. Helpful, friendly staff. Not a long wait. I'll be sending my son here later for service, too.

Purchased groupon for full synthetic. They consider 0w-16 a âpremiumâ full synthetic. There is nothing about this in the fine print and I ended up paying more than just going to a quick lube without a groupon. Stay away. Wish there was a 0 star option.

Just took my 2008 sedan in for a smog test - NOTHING MORE. No inspections, no safety checks, just a smog test. So after about 5 minutes, this burley guy with graying hair, in an intimidating tone comes, to the front door and asks me to come out to my car (BTW, the attempt at intimidation failed miserably). Knowing what he was trying to do, I ask him "is there a problem?" He proceeds to tell me that the car passed the smog test and that the brakes are fine. I stopped him there and asked him why were the brakes inspected (which he couldn't possibly do since the wheels were not taken off to look at the brakes, if he was doing an actual inspection). He tells me this is a part of the "required" inspection, which is BS for a simple smog test where the car passes. His main motivation was to let me know that the engine coolant was low (which it was) and that he was concerned about a possible leak, even though he could see no evidence of such, but that he could smell engine coolant. No such leak exists and I wouldn't be surprised if he sprinkled some antifreeze on the hot engine block to obtain the smell he was referring to. At this point I'm just looking at him and I think he realizes his attempt at generating additional business is falling flat. He takes the smog certificate and keys to the front desk and moves on to the next customer (potential victim). I always scratch my head and this kind of business practice and figure that the owner has concluded that the risk of losing customers is outweighed by the business they generate by talking customers into unnecessary repairs. Of course, I went home, added engine coolant to the reservoir and took VIP Auto Service Center LV 5 (which I've used before for smog tests) off my list of auto repair shops for smog tests. Just a really dumb business practice and I would NOT recommend this shop.

Really amazing!!! I called ahead Marlene very pleasant. Straight to the point doesnât waste your time, makes an easy in and out process.
Chris did my oil change and called me as soon as he was done and took pictures and went over what other things I needed to take care of with quotes so I can plan accordingly when I come back to fix a few things.
Josh gave me a great new saying to say âJust put the fries in the bagâ lol definitely gonna use it!
Thanks to the whole team, always a wonderful feeling to visit a place for the first time and feel so comfortable. đ thank you!!

Update! Was told $1400 to fix AC vacuum problem. Went to a different shop, found a line disconnected, only charged us $180 to fix it. This shop is a scam artist and should be put out of business. Was also told we needed to drop our gas tank to fix a problem we had, also a lie. Was our filler neck the entire time and didnât have to drop the tank at all. Beyond pissed off they stole my money and gave me complete BS diagnosis. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR here!!

Not sure why there isnât a âno starâ option. We were referred to the location on Rancho from Carmax. We have maxcare which covers most of everything and was told these were covered. Took it there because the door lock actuators were going out (the doors wouldnât lock). Dropped it off then get a call later on in the day that the motor mounts were bad and that our rear brakes were at 10%. They proceeded to tell us that it would be $1,400 out of pocket. Funny thing is that the motor mounts were changed 2 months ago, weird. So we went and picked it back up to take it to Carmax. They said the motor mounts were basically brand new and our rear brakes were at about 50-60% still, which we knew because those were changed about a year ago. This place blatantly tried to rip us off and when they put our door panels back on they made a humming noise when driving down the road. They will be reported to the BBB.

Went in for an oil change and nothing wrong with the car on the way in, left with car smoking on the way home because of valve cover gasket leak. I was told in the service bay I'd need to replace the gasket, but since I've had ZERO signs of an oil leak just after a cross country road trip (4000+ miles) and prior to getting to the shop, I figured I would inspect at a later date and pass on the service. Either impeccable timing or a little trick shops do to turn an 11$ gasket into a $400 quote..
