This branch is whacked. After they remodeled the retail floor, everything seems crowded. The deli area takes forever due to the whole wall of varieties with only 3 crews available while you wait for your number, DMV style.
Close to noon where everyone goes here to buy food or ingredients for their lunch. Only half of their terminals on the self checkout are working while their managers are walking around with their MSM buffooning. Kudos to the cart retrieval crew, I think they're the only hard working individuals here in the midst of summer and on peak hours.

I'm convinced many of the employees here target people of color. I have had so many issues at this location multiple times. Just recently I came to to get dinner and toiletries. I was shopping with my 1 year old. I went and grabbed deodorant and was still shopping for other items. The lady working in the cosmetic section rudely stopped me and told me I needed to pay there. As she told me this I watched people that were not of color walk out with their items without getting stopped. I explained to her I had a coupon on the app and I wanted to pay for everything together. She disregarded that completly. From the moment I walked in that section and even this store I was racially profiled. And again this has not been the first time. I absolutely don't feel comfortable shopping at this location.

We have happily shopped at this Smith’s for over 12 years. It has been our favorite grocer and a big part of the reason that we love this part of town.
Unfortunately this location has made significant changes and continues to add more and more self checkout lanes. These lanes are often closed, understaffed or don’t work properly. The staff that used to be so friendly are now spread so thin that customer service has become non-existent. Many products are no locked up and require assistance to purchase. Items from the meat counter must be delivered to the front by a staff member to be purchased. These changes make us customers feel like criminals when we are simply trying to purchase our weekly groceries.
None of these changes benefit the customers. Grocery costs keep increasing and the customer is responsible for checking out and bagging their own groceries. The employees don’t seem to be any happier either.
It’s sad to see our favorite store in such decline. We will be taking our business to Albertsons since it’s just up the street and still values their customers.
It’s also evident that Smith’s doesn’t care about there customers since no one has ever responded to their customer reviews on Google…

Great location if you are in the Tropicana and Hualapai area. However 90% of the checkout lanes are now self-checkout and these are the worst self-checkout experiences I have ever had. I just checked out and I needed not one not two but six return visits by a busy associate who really had other things to do and so I had to wait and I had to call out very loudly into the store assistance needed on self-checkout.

It reeks in here. Don't know if someone threw fish in the AC Unit but Christ Almighty, nearly vomited walking through the store. Break out the air freshners cause it legit smells like a fish market today.

This is the only smiths i like to go to, the staff here is always so friendly ans helpful! The store is always kept so clean, and the shelfs are always stocked and well organized. They also offer grocery pick up here which is extremely convenient when you dont want to go in and shop, they always do a great job of letting you know quickly when something is out of stock so they can make the right substitutions.

This may be an example of only writing reviews when bad stuff has happens but enough bad experiences have added up to make me want to write this. I hope management reads it too.
First, I will say I enjoy Smiths. They have great discounts but they have been going down hill.
They are basically all machines now. Even the shampoo and stuff is behind a separate glass machine checkout.
****The result is a complete lack of customer service ****.
Their front employees, who used to be cashiers, are now low rate security guards that stand there and do nothing but watch. I keep my head down but Ive seen some bad interactions with other customers and today was the final straw.
I came in today at 6:30 and was checking out when this extremely old man got in front of me. I let him go because he could barely walk with his cart. He was very nice. He very nicely asked if anyone could help scan him out because he has “trouble with the auto machines.” Easy enough, right? Well apparently not, because the front worker immediately gave him a stink face and went looking for someone else to open a register and ring this guy out.
I watched as he asked who I guess was either his superior or another employee. This woman gave him back a stink face and said no. Apparently she doesnt open until 7 so she refused. Despite her literally standing right there.
So the employee in the self checkout begrudgingly went and scanned the old man himself. Mind you there was literally noone else in line but me so it’s not like it was a big deal.
The faux cashier / security guard employee proceeds to scan the old man out, but not without making sure he told the old man “for future reference, we don’t open registers until 7am.” Like are you kidding me? The man was like 85 years old and could barely walk.
After scanning the man out, the two employees just watched this man walk away with his cart at super slow speed. He had to take a break half way out the store to catch his breath. Then again in the parking lot. Not one time did any employee ask to help him. I ultimately asked to help the man in the parking lot.
He was super nice, and said he would do it himself, since it wasn’t my job, and with a smile he said, “use it or lose it.”
Great attitude by him. I hope my review makes some changes with the attitude at Smiths cashiers. Assuming they are cashiers still.

I was stopped walking out of the makeup/shampoo isle to pay. I apologized and explained last time I was here I asked the women standing there and was told to pay up front. She goes "I don't think so. This has only been open 4 days". Excuse me? I don't understand why she randomly accused me of lying or what "4 days" has to do with anything.
