The veterinarians here are Great! Unfortunately the service has gone downhill. I called today at 9:46am and was hung up on three times before getting through and still had an 11 min hold . This is not the first time my calls have gone unanswered or the front office staff had no knowledge of what was going on. They seem to have lost a few of their employees who had better customer service skills.

We were referred to this specialist vet for our Coco, our primary vet was worried about his gallbladder being swollen and this is the only location closer to us who specializes on gallbladders and let me say the staff is super friendly and very helpful. They had scheduled an appointment for October 14th but since they saw we were worried and couldn’t wait till that date they bumped up our appointment date. They got Coco done for blood work and an ultrasound and gave us great news that everything was very fine. The vet tech and doctor who saw coco made us feel relived that there was nothing to be worried about.

I'm genuinely surprised to read some of the negative reviews for the nonemergency side of this hospital. (I've not been to the emergency side and cannot speak to it.)
They have been nothing but compassionate to me and my wife as we work through the final few months of my cat's life. Dr. Byrne made sure we understood all of our options for lymphoma treatment, and tried to always provide alternatives when financials were tight. When things went wrong that were ultimately outside of anyone's control, she made sure we tackled every issue before coming back to his treatment plan. Every consideration has been made, and when we ask difficult questions, she gives us honest answers. We trust her wholeheartedly with our son. The front desk and the vet techs are equally as pleasant, and even when we were late for our initial appointment, they still saw us and helped us through.
I'm grateful for the time LVVSC is giving us now with G. He's the first cat me and me wife got as a married couple. It's difficult, but they're making it easier for him and for us.

The staff here took care of my dog in his first year of life and during his final days. They treated him like he was part of their family. They worked day and night to try to save him. When I had to make the absolutely devastating decision to have him euthanized, he and I were treated with such kindness and respect. The condolence card that I received yesterday was the sweetest thing I've ever seen. I can't thank the staff at LVVSC and the adjoining emergency room more for being with me and my dog (who was like a son to me) from nearly the beginning until the very end. I would recommend them to everyone.

Our little doggo (9 pounds) was very lucky to have Dr. Rexing as her surgeon. Honestly, I was "on the fence" about having the procedure done- but I'm really glad we did. Our little dog fully recovered, and is much better off for having had the surgery. She has the full use of all 4 legs again. The whole staff at LVVSC was fantastic- they answered every question over months before I decided to go ahead, and then gave our doggo great care. Everyone who was involved in our doggo's care was kind and invested in her getting better. As a guy who was very reluctant, I cannot recommend both Dr. Rexing AND LVVSC enough. They fixed our dog. Thank you! EDIT: Miss Basil Tulip managed to do the same damage to her other leg, and Dr. Rexing again did the surgery. Not just a perfect outcome- but the whole staff is so friendly and caring. Vet Techs came out just to see her and pet her while we waited (a short 5 minute wait, by the way), and you can tell they actually adore her. We are really lucky to have LVVSC in Las Vegas, and Dr. Rexing- who I am sure can do surgery on any dog, but is also a specialist on small dogs.

I cannot say enough about the staff and Dr. Mason here at LVVSC. The staff is so friendly, compassionate and attentive and they understand that dog parents need a little hand holding from time to time.
Dr. Mason is another one who is polite, sensitive to the problem and is very compassionate. Just so you know, Dr. Mason is one of the most sought out canine orthopedic surgeons on the west coast. He completes revision surgeries and is known for his skillset on TPLO's. He has saved my Cane Corso, Bella, on a revision (right leg) and TPLO (left leg) and is once again performing a TPLO on my other dog, Massimo.
Thank you Dr. Mason and all of the amazing ladies and guys at this center! Thank you for the care and love you provide to my fur babies while I cannot be there!

They charge exorbitant prices, my dog needed her heart checked out and they were quoting me between $5,000 to $7,000. I understand needing a profit but I also understand that it shouldn't cost quite that much.

My dog had been diagnosed with asthma by my vet, and he referred me to LVVSC because he said my dog would need to see a specialist in internal medicine to get the further extensive diagnosis and treatment. When I called, they said it would take two months since there was only one vet in internal medicine in Las Vegas. My poor dog had to wait and endure coughing fits and wheezing for another two months because there was no other option. I was relieved to finally meet with Dr. Mordecai in hopes of mitigating the suffering my dog had to go through. He diagnosed him with bronchitis instead. He discussed with me several options from a stronger steroid than the one my vet had previously prescribed since that one did not really help him. He also discussed viagra. I don’t remember the exact specifics, but he was very knowledgeable and explained it well and why that would also help. He also discussed putting my dog under for a little and doing a scope to get a closer look. My dog is a senior dog, so that’s not the option I wanted to take because of concerns of whether he would be able to come back from that. My dog was coughing during all this, and Dr. Mordecai noticed that he was trying to cough up whatever was bothering him so he recommended him to start out on antibiotics for 14 days and a cough suppressant for 5 days. After a week, I called and left a message with LVSCC for Dr. Mordecai to see if he could change his medication because absolutely nothing had changed. I didn’t hear back from his office and didn’t want to be a bother so I waited another couple days and left the same message and STILL didn’t hear back from their office that his medication had been changed to one of the other options he had discussed with me originally. During our appointment, he told me to call back after 10 days but there wasn’t even the slightest bit of improvement even after 7 days so I called earlier, and I was concerned the meds were causing more harm than health. I know everyone is busy, but it shouldn’t have taken more than 5 minutes to look into my dog’s file and see what one of the other options was. I’m infuriated now because not only have I been waiting two months to see this specialist, but now I am sitting at the emergency vet which is conveniently LVSCC because I never got a response back and my dog has been coughing and panting heavily all night. I am giving 2 stars only because I can see the emergency department are all trying to appease me since someone dropped the ball on the non-emergency side. Otherwise, I would be leaving 1 star because I am deeply disappointed and dissatisfied with how this situation panned out when this emergency vet visit could’ve easily been avoided with a simple change in meds, and I know now I’m going to be paying a ridiculous amount just to even be seen here. I never write reviews but this is how much this experience really affected me and drove me to even write one.

You may need to go here and they could potentially do good things, but i wish I would have not gone.
My dog has a bone tumor behind his eye and I ended up getting palliative radiation at VCA in Carlsbad CA and the center there was SO much better than here in Vegas.
VCA doctors and employees came off as caring and welcoming. Doctors kneeling next to clients as they went over what was going on and next steps to be taken. A level of empathy I really appreciated.
My experience at LVVSC was NOT that. It was business and just a bad vet office vibe.
Here’s my experience: may 2024
Recommended to ophthalmology by Vet. Saw Weinstein for eye leakage of my dog Bear in right eye. Clearly well intentioned but very brief and didn’t really explain much other than that results showed all normal signs and wanted to do a CT Scan. 2 things:
1 - Recommended Rx’s and was not fully briefed on why prednisone and effects it could have. I truly believe my dog has yet to recover from side effects of prednisone. He was on too long as there was no communication with regular vet after I decided to go through with CT scan there. He was on it longer than necessary and I wouldn’t have gone through with it if I had known potential lasting side effects. I wish dr would have had that discussion with me on y and what prednisone does. I put full trust and now I wish I hadn’t. — Dr and VCA said he wouldn’t have prescribed it.
2 - after doctor explained next steps he walked away and had tech come out with a price sheet that was exorbitant and included some things that were not necessary when I got other opinions. I was not in state to ask and I think doctor should have gone over all details to make me feel more comfortable and have better understanding.
Next after CT scan at vet in which a bone tumor was discovered behind I came back to get a consultation on surgery. Prior to scheduling I asked if they would just tell me that part of face / eye bone was going to have to be removed, I wouldn’t do it. They said they couldn’t say over phone until they evaluated in person (even tho they had CT results). Charged 200 unnecessarily.

Overall, a very high level of professionalism and kindness from the cleaning staff all the way to the doctors. Our primary veterinarian recommended the clinic and they asked us to call Neurology first to make the appointment. Transfer of medical records was efficiently completed and we attended our first meeting within a month. Very fast! Our dog's seizure disorder was confirmed by Dr. Franziska, our neurologist. They charged around $200-something for that first visit. We had the option of doing an MRI and that would have been much more. With our high anxiety the clinic was able to accommodate us well. Most (if not all) of the paperwork was filled out online after our first phone call, which minimized our waiting time. Then we could wait in the car (instead of waiting with other pets in the waiting room). ...Pros * Compassionate, attentive, and efficient staff! * I loved their "Anxious dog" protocols. * Dr. Fitz Franziska answered all of our questions and really helped calm us with her empathic explanations of what the plan is and what to expect. Very reassuring! * Parking was free and plenty available. * My normally anxious dog was very comfortable with all of the staff! I'm glad they know what they're doing. * Very clean clinic. * Whiteboard for teaching purposes. ...Cons * My dog/myself were anxious to walk through the lobby full of pets. (It went just fine.) P.S. People with cats, please send in your cute kitty pictures to the clinic! The walls are filled with canine and no feline pics.

Terrible front desk staff but the vets here are good. My pet’s primary vet was never contacted for my pet’s bloodwork records and nobody at the front desk could give a reason why they never contacted the vet.

We were referred to LVVSC from our vet because our dog had a mass removed which turned out to be cancer. We feel scared and sad. Today's appointment was the best vet appointment we have ever had. The veterinary oncologist, Dr. Brad Schmidt, took the time to give us a white board presentation of what our dog's cancer is- what our biopsy showed about how advanced it is, and what the treatment options are. He spent so much time educating us. He was honest and practical and gave us realistic expectations for different treatments. Above all-- he didn't pressure us or shame us as we evaluated what is best for our dog. He was also very, very sweet to our pup. It's a rare experience that makes me rush home and want to write a yelp review, but today was one of them. Highly, highly recommend to all pet owners.

This is an emotional one for for me:
I just moved to Vegas and my 17 year old, baby boy, Wyatt, had become suddenly ill. I took him to an emergency vet on a Tuesday and they stated he could die any moment. How, when, what? We were just at the vet in Denver before we left? Shock! Disbelief! Devastation!
I took him home, made him comfortable and I waited…and waited. Although I was trying not to believe that this was the end and questioned a million times if I was being selfish. In the back of my mind I knew there was a possibility that he could be suffering, however he was still eating, drinking, jumping on my lap being his normal self…but by Friday, he took a turn for the worst.
I knew it was time, and took him to VE+CC to put him to rest.
I was beside myself. I could hardly speak, tears flooded, silent prayers for him to fight, for God to help…functioning as the adult that I am was no longer happening. Absolutely brought me to my knees.
This was one of the hardest decisions I had to make. My best friend that has been by my side for 17 years. I now think of the lovely years that I had with him. How grateful I am to have had him in my life. He was the coolest cat.
Jeff, Megan, and the whole entire staff was extremely compassionate and I am grateful I had their kind support.
They allowed me to have time with him before and after he was gone. And that I will cherish.
When the day comes, I decide to rescue another pet. I will definitely use this team if I ever have an emergency.
