I don't know if new owners took over recently or what, but there's a new cashier there (a heavyset balding black dude in his 40's with a beard and glasses) who's a major power-tripping a-hole. A week or so ago he told me I couldn't lock my bike to the front gate (which I've been doing for the 2 years I've been patronizing this store) and today he asked me for my ID, which they've also never done. I'm 54 and definitely look over 21, and when I pointed out that they've never aked me for ID there previously, he said "if you don't like it, you can go to another store" and then when I asked why he always gives me a hard time, he refused to serve me. This guy has a really bad attitude and needs to be fired or else he's going to lose the store business.
In regards to the owner's response, my bike wasn't blocking the entrance - I locked it to the security gate that was swung open and secured to the wall next to the doorway like I've done there dozens of time and no employee there has ever said anything. Also, as I said I'm 54 and don't look under 40. I can understand stores asking for ID - it was the rude way he did it and then him saying if I had an problem with it I could go somewhere else thar was the issue. That's no way to treat customers, especially regular ones.

The website does not apply to this store. One store on Decatur one on Losee. Better-than-average Scotch selection for the East side, but it's all behind bulletproof glass with the cashier. The whole building just screams "go away bad neighborhood."
