DO NOT COME HERE TO GET YOUR DOGS NAILS CUT. They have cut my dogs nails to the point of blood TWICE now. Stating "next time you will not have to pay for a nail service", like I would ever come back to this location to have them hurt my baby again. You guys have got to do better!!! Check photos posted.

Our dog bit off the end of his tail, 2 weeks ago. We woke up to blood everywhere in the back yard, and in their sleeping area. When we got a closer look, we saw bone. Our first call was to Island Pet at 10am in the morning. We told the receptionist that our dog was bleeding profusely, and we needed to bring him in. After checking with the doctor and keeping us on hold for over 4 minutes, she came back on and said they could only see the dog for a check and euthanasia till 4:30pm. No treatment would be available. After explaining over and over our dire situation, my husband hung up and called Creature Comforts Vet. They took us right away, and wheeled out dog into the treatment room the minute we arrived. Our dog came so close to needing blood and possibly dying. We complained to the head corporation office that owns Island, got nowhere and no help at all. Oh by the way when my husband called to try to speak to a office manager, he got nowhere, even though he explained over and over our dire situation. Funny after contacting the office 2 weeks after it happened neither the receptionist office manager at Island ask how Bender was. Cold

For the most part, everything at this clinic is good. The love of the animals, the kindness of the staff, the cleanliness, etc. My only complaint is that every, single time that I call, I'm put on hold. This last time, I was on hold for 7 minutes. From a customer service point of view, I really wish that this would improve.

This review is to not only share my own experiences I've had, but to also share a honest and positive perspective about Island Pet Hospital. I have always been treated amazing here from all of the staff. Yes at times the wait has been a little longer then usual however with the world being short staffed everywhere it’s understandable plus I would rather be seen by a doctor that I know cares and is willing to take their time with my pet rather then a fast visit and I feel I’m not being heard. My experiences have always been great and never have I had an issue. Everytime that I come the hospital manager is always attentive and greets me when I walk past. I also will see her helping and being more active than most management especially at other hospitals I've been to. I always feel welcomed and get the best service. This is to say for people who are looking for a good hospital not only do I recommend here, but I also suggest that you don’t believe all the bad reviews people leave as people tend to not be honest when things do not go there way. Be your own opinion and value the positive feedback from others over the negatives because there is always two sides to a story.

Took my dog in for a canine influenza shot on Oct. 20. I was told there is a second booster shot required after the initial vax. Before I left the facility I asked when I should bring him back and was told in “2 or 3 weeks.” They charged me $75 for a vaccination that was done by a tech and not the doctor. This was the lesser expensive way to do it! $75 for a shot administered by a vet tech, wow! So three weeks later I was informed that the first shot expired 20 days after it was administered. I was told that I’d have to pay another $75 to repeat the vax. I asked why they told me it was ok to wait 3 weeks and also why they didn’t tell me it would expire in less than 3 weeks. They had no answer. After some discussion she said that I had disabled text and email notifications. Another words it was my fault. I had not. I then asked her when they attempted to contact me to remind me to get the booster. She didn’t know because corporate handles text and email reminder, not the facility staff. ??? I asked to speak with the office manager and was told to call back on Monday. So I called back and it was obvious the receptionist was screening calls for the office manager who was “busy” but wanted to know why I was calling. I asked her to have the manager call me back and she never did.I had my dogs teeth cleaned not long ago and have spent probably $700 or $800 there in the last year. But I guess that doesn’t rate a courtesy call back from an employee. Expecting me to pay $225 (3X$75) order to get what should be $100 for two shots is a joke. I owned the largest pet boarding and daycare facility in Southern Utah and I know what their mark up is on vaccinations. I also know that ignoring an unhappy customer by refusing to speak to them is not a good way to stay in business and retain customers. It’s the worst possible behavior. I hope that extra $75 they tried to squeeze out of me was worth it. I’ve taken my dog and business elsewhere.

Waited the typical 45 minutes past our appointment time. There was a fill-in vet who was quite full of himself. We wanted arthritis meds for our aged dog who is in pain. The vet recommended $850.00 worth of tests before he would prescribe meds. We opted for $400.00 worth of tests. The vet asked us to leave our dog there for 45 minutes. After hearing nothing, 90 minutes later we returned for our dog. We had some difficulty getting our dog as no one knew what was going on and the front desk was not allowed to get our dog. The vet could not be found, seriously! The very abrupt office manager finally returned our dog, but after a three hour ordeal we got no prescription.I called the next morning (before the owner suggested I do so). The office manager was quite upset that I called her abrupt even though she turned her back on me and walked away while I was talking to her. My prescription had still not been refilled. They offered me a new appointment to start all over again with a new substitute vet. No thanks.

Waited for 45 min past my appt, asked reception when I would go back. Only then did she tell me the doctor isn’t in, and asked me to reschedule. I asked for my records to go to another vet (that values my time). She said she would send them, never did. It’s not like they were busy, NO ONE CAME before or after my appt time.

It saddens me to have to write this review but I was taken advantage of yesterday 9/27/23 and I need to share my experience so it doesn't happen to anyone else. I've been taking my 2 dogs to Dr Rokos for 4 years and have never had any complaints until now. I brought my 12 yr old cat in on 9/12 because his long hair had become so matted that he needed to be given anesthesia in order to be shaved (it would be very painful it was that bad) Dr Rokos agreed it was bad and that would be the best option for him. He asked me if I had any other concerns and I let him know he had started drooling a little (Not much) asked if he could just look at teeth. His observation was that his teeth looked really good but couldn't see in the back. Told me I could get a dental perodental done while we shave him since he's under anyways. I asked for a quote but said I wasn't worried about his teeth only his matted fur ( reason for appt) Received quote for almost $600 and I let the girl who handed me the quote know I could not pay that amount I was only interested in the shaving. I went home, talked it over with hubby and he agreed there was no need for the dental when he's not having any issues (He also doesn't eat soft food and had no plaque) I called to make the appt and the receptionist wrote notes that I only wanted full shaving with anesthesia. Arrived 8am on sept 27 and no one mentioned the dental! I never signed anything and the only thing mentioned was the shaving which the lady came out to talk with me about what was to happen and how she would update me later. She was compassionate and thorough. loved her! I arrived at 3 pm for pick up and the receptionist said it was $594. When I asked her why it was so high, she broke it down and said dental. I let her know I never wanted that to be done because of cost and didn't feel it was even necessary. She said she remembered making my appt and had notes on it saying I didn't want the dental. She proceeded to phone the dr from the front desk and I could hear 90% of what he said and it was very unprofessional and was almost yelling at her saying that they are not groomers and it would cost me more if I had only gotten the shaving without the dental. What the heck? He wouldn't come up front to talk to me. The receptionist went in the back and you could hear them talking about it. She let him know she made the appt without dental and there were notes on it about it. I guess he just chose to do it anyways? They could have called me to discuss if there were any questions about service. I never agreed to have dental done. it was just his way of making money. I paid the money even though I didn't agree but I'm not a confrontational person and didn't want to be embarrassed by getting mad. I will no longer be bringing my animals here and I will no longer recommend. I will let others know what happened to me. I had no issues with any of the staff or other Vet. So disappointing and handled unprofessionally

I called looking for a vet and inquired about the facility. We were referred by 2 people. Excellent phone service but long hold periods while they were checking in and out clients. We have an upcoming appointment.
