I've loved HR Block for years but this year will likely be my last. We booked our appointment over a month in advance as we both have very challenging schedules. We confirmed the appt 3 times via text but for some reason the owner/manager of this location found it appropriate to cancel it because it was too far scheduled out. They claimed they called but not one message was left regarding the cancellation. On the day of the appt, we called by happenstance to see if we could come in a little early only to find out what happened. The person taking the call was not helpful at all. We went over there to sort it out and fortunately were able to. Scott Kjar is outstanding to work with and I highly recommend him, especially if you have anything complicated. That being said, I don't feel the fee increases were made clear to us at the time we first sat down, because the fee jumped from around $300 to over $500 since the previous year. I'm assuming because the fee structure is based on per page but much of the information did not change from previous years. Had we known this, we wouldn't have pursued professional help as this was nowhere near our budget. Only peace of mind is at least this fee is a deduction for next year but we walked out feeling pretty fleeced and frustrated. I think this is a good office with outstanding professionals, but it didn't work well for us this year.

Awesome! I paid less that previous years in other companies. H&R Block is outrageous, excellent customer service that going above and beyond in all senses. Top ranking in my first experience with them. Cherry on the top: they explain e-v-e-r-i-t-h-i-n-g about taxes, and they are very genuinely friendly.

As painful as doing our taxes can be, H&R Block (specifically Loretta) do a great job handling our documents every year. It can be a little pricey, but Loretta somehow makes it fun, and she's so knowledgeable it seems easy (although I know it's not). Which is why we go to see her for our tax needs every year.

Overpriced to have One's taxes done here, can't blame the Tax preparer's they just work for the owner's.
