1.Safety issues with the car and poor car maintenance! Car needed to be pulled over in the middle of the highway as engine power reduced and started decelerating in the middle of the highway which can definitely cause accident.Engine light on the last day while we were just renting for 3 days. Company responded that it is unexpected mechanical problem. However, alert of engine power reduced which usually indicated for dirty throttle body, oil may not be changed on the proper time and other service may not be done on time, which is definitely not as unexpected as we were told. Nearly a tow needed and accident caused in the middle of the highway where we are decelerating while everyone was keeping up with the speed.
2. Overcharged! We added LIS and additional driver at the counter and they ended up overcharging us over cad 100. We email them to get it back.MUST CHECK FOR YOUR BILL if you rent a car from them.
3. Messy arrangement. Staff didn't tell the customers which car they are giving them and quite a number of us were waiting over 30 minute to get someone driving us the cars which are just next to the customer loading area. No instruction. Car first received with no Fuel. Definitely poor management and poor maintenance of the car.
Don't go for Hertz as they are doing like a mess and not responsible for the follow up service.

Corporate business ethics? Um...not here.
I reserved two days prior online with Hertz through AAA for an EV vehicle ($225), and used the AAA offered Allianz rental car insurance which totaled $88.
On my pickup day I decided to switch to a gas car bc there was no easy access to a EV charging station where I was staying. I paid $140 for the "upgrade" to a Chevy Malibu.
In the end I was billed twice for one rental. Hertz did not remove the initial rental rate charge for the EV and instead added an additional rental rate charge totaling $275 for the Chevy Malibu. I caught this error on my bank account and called Hertz several days into my rental. Three separate Hertz employees saw the error, informed me I needed to wait until the car was returned and then I should see the correction.
No correction was made. I've ended up paying Hertz over $700 for a seven day rental of a Chevy Malibu when nowhere on the invoice provided by Hertz customer service or the hard copy receipt in my possession does it give that total amount due. On the contrary the total amount due on all documents from Hertz shows a total of $491.
This is a completely unacceptable, unethical and deceptive business practice.
I've seen the anemic apologies offered by Hertz for all the other one star ratings here and am not holding my breath for them to be an upright business and refund my overcharge.
Caveat emptor with this company. I'm disgusted and would give negative stars if possible.
Next step is a call to the FTC and the BBB.
Forgot to add the telephone agent who when I asked to speak with a supervisor used the old game of putting me on hold and returning after a moment to inform me that all the supervisors were in a meeting. How original. Ugh. Hertz...really?

They overcharge me for my rental vehicle. They keep holding the security deposit to this day $200 dollars. Customer service is not the greatest. Lady at the front counter didn’t do anything to help me combine the two reservations i have for the same car, online issues well she was giving me an attitude instead of trying to help me.

My rental was great, easy to pick up the car and easy to return. Having the free gold membership saved a lot of time not having to wait in line, and I got to pick from whatever cars they had available in the lot. The car itself was great for the price. The employees were all very helpful and pleasant.
HOWEVER, when I checked out, I got an additional $95 charge on my bill that I should NOT have been charged. Luckily I checked my receipt before I left, and the employee at the desk quickly fixed it when I went back. This is an absolutely unacceptable business practice. Given the other reviews, I suspect Hertz adds these bogus charges on purpose to make extra $$$ on people who don’t read the small print. I don’t even want to know how hard it would have been to get a refund if I had left and would have had to call customer service.
Shame on you, Hertz. It would have been a 5 star experience otherwise. BUYER BEWARE. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT.

From start to finish, the staff at vegas hit a homerun. I have had problems from several agencies, but the girl who checked us in gave us great vacations place tips gave us info on discounts upgraded us and saved us money in several ways. The car was brand new, so it was perfect, and the concierge got us our plane tickets, took our bags, and had us on the shuttle in minutes after arrival. Very pleasant experience.

Our flight was cancelled so I sent a mail to them that we was going to be like 9 hours late into Vegas.
I am a Gold Five star member so counted on some good service.
When we arrived our car that I had booked canceled.....
Had to start a new reservation, always book a large premium car then I always got an upgrade to the class above (i.e. large SUV).
But NOT at LV airport, got a very shitty Nissan small SUV that was very old, we had to fill one tire three times then it lost pressure all the time. The engine lamp started to show up yellow, not nice when in the middle of the night travelling to Bryce Canyon....
When we got back I finally got superservice from Hertz, they deducted the price and took away one day for this mailfuncion, so thanks for this Hertz.
Must only had a bad day when I picked up the car, then when I made the Hertz renal in May at Salt lake City I got a supernice car upgrade and the same in New York two weeks after.

They charged us for gas when we filled up the tank. We had to go back and tell him we filled it up and he was arguing with my husband saying he couldn't do anything about it. My husband asked for the manager and said he was the manager. They also charges us for extra day and for toll fees. We knew we were going to use the toll so we paid extra for that ahead of time. The total we got originally$463.52 total they charged us $618.03 and only returned $36.99 was returned. They said we have to go with the person that we originally rented from for the rest of the charges. Be careful!

Terrible attention they give. I rented a car to pick up at 8:00 AM, it took them two and a half hours to give it to me, in between, they offered me several completely different (and worse) models, they had no order, lack of control. Once they give it to you, not even the slightest explanation of anything.

OMG. Presidents circle, clear reservation for over a month, and no car in the stall number with my name on the Gold Board. Gold booth employee was rude/awful and just stated “You need to wait until they bring it up”. Been waiting almost an hour! Avoid Herrz here at all costs. None of the employees were at all concerned at the lack of cars ready or the chaos, upset people. This includes the super rude lady at the main counter. See the pic of all the people told to just stand in the customer loading zone and “wait”. When our vehicle finally came up, another group tried to take it. They argued with the Hertz employee, and even said something to my wife. We just got in the car and left. Gate employee was great and efficient. What an absolute cluster, with zero effort to resolve.
