Golden Gate is possibly the best value (and maybe one of the best hotels) downtown in Vegas. We stayed in one of their suites. The regular rooms are a bit small, though they are cheap (our friends stayed in one of those so I was able to see both). Their suites are absolutely gorgeous and still very affordable. There is a shocking amount of space in the room considering the size of the hotel. And the suites are beautifully decorated, making for a very relaxing stay in the room. The casino is also a lot of fun, good vibe and good drink service. Pair this with the fact that you get access to Circa's Stadium Swim at a fraction of the price to stay across the street at Circa, Golden Gate is an incredible value and we would absolutely stay here again. On top of the amazing amenities and amazing location (right next to one of the Fremont Street stages, incredible for the vibe we want when we stay downtown) the service at this hotel is incredible. Paige and another front desk worker (I am so sorry I don't remember your name) were incredibly helpful. We arrived very early and they were extremely accommodating with holding our bags, which took a long time because we decided to change in the lobby bathrooms and go to the pool and they were helpful through it all. Paige specifically as well as John were amazing, putting up with my stress and not only handling me with class but making my stay more amazing then I could have ever imagined. John you are an absolutely outstanding manager. This place is amazing and if you are staying downtown Vegas (which I highly recommend if you are new to Vegas) I highly highly highly recommend this hotel. 6 stars.

If you don't play on the strip, you have to be aware that winnings of $1,199 or more are taxed at 30%...and you are taught this in a very unfriendly way =2,700 profit after 30% $1,890 nice...you can then do it on your tax return supposedly bring it backIt is also very dusty here

Reserved a room for my mom's birthday. Staff was very friendly and Casino is cute and small wth some fun games. Its pretty cool being in the oldest casino. The rooms are a bit outdated, but does the job. You're downtown to party and sleep, not much else to it. The only downside was the wait to check in was an hour after 3, and that was only after I asked again if our room was ready (Front desk associate was on it! unfortunately i forgot her name). You would think booking a month in advance it would be ready, right? I was also accidentally charged double, but it was fixed as soon as i let them know, so no worries, it happens (but shouldnt lol). Anyway I'm giving it another go with my boyfriend next month. As long as we're comfortable, everything else doesn't matter but a clean room. Hopefully, this time we won't have to wait a long time to check in again.Update:Second time was a breeze, thank you for making our stay great!

Stayed in the older room, no AC, feet stuck to capet, and very small. The noise from Freemont Street was loud, and I mean really loud. We expected some noise because the hotel is older and next to Freemont Street, but seriously loud till 3 am. We adjusted and stayed out late anyway, but it's noisy all day too. Room reminded me of an old motel 6 in the bad part of town.

Extremely bad experienceI booked a room for four people. Because I arrived late, the receptionist said that I didn’t call them before six o’clock, so I gave up the room. Then there is a single room leftThe original price will not be refunded. Four people sleeping in a single room will sleep on the floor. The hot water regulator was broken and I kept getting burned while taking a shower.Really bad hotel

This casino is full of atmosphere and fun. May be small and rooms are due to their year of construction but you'll feel Bugsy and his friends around every corner. Girls in cutie outfits will deal at the tables if that's your choice but plenty of slots too. We always stop by whenever we're in town.

In this place it is only worth staying in the suits. Normal rooms look shabby and smell bad even without smoking. My husband forgot the key and the phone and went to the reception to call our room and let me know that he was downstairs, he gave his name and mine so he could go up and they did not want to help him and threatened to call security if he didn't leave. terrible customer service.

We booked a room for a Friday night, and got stuck with room 228. There is a speaker for the stage barely 2 feet from the window, which is single pane from the early 1900’s. Pretty tough go with no sleep on our first night and had to move for the remainder of our visit. The bathroom door also only opens about 75 degrees as it hits the toilet.
