I stayed in the gallery tower and the refreshed rooms are great. SMALL but I wasn't in the room besides sleeping for the most part so it works. Location is fantastic. You're a short walk from everything Freemont. The 5.99 steak burger combo is right across the street.
I did give service 2 stars because the front desk was completely unhelpful. I needed a late checkout that was later than 1pm and they refused. I had to buy an extra night which fine I understand but then they refused to remove the resort fee. I literally checked out by 3pm that same day. Didnt even use the extra night. I needed the room for that much longer because I was getting ready for my wedding with my groomsmen in my hotel room. We needed the room just for the afternoon because pictures started at 3:30. Greedy and unaccommodating.
In the end the casino was great room was nice just would have been better had staff been more understanding.

I love The Downtown Grand. Great location. Walking distance to Freemont st. When drunk .. ? short walks back to your room are best.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. We love staying downtown and decided to try the Grand this trip to get a little further from the noise on Freemont. Staff are rude, and agrue with each other in front of guests. The restaurant food is good but service was poor. Rooms are tired with no amenities like a coffee pot or mini fridge. We were there 4 days and room service never came to our room. I can understand not changing the sheets, but we had to track down towels every day we were there. No vending machines on room floors. So if you want a drink or snack you have to go to main floor. Pool was always closed. Gym is tiny. Never saw anyone cleaning. Electricity went out so elevators, escalator were all shut down. Couldn’t get up to our room to get luggage. Concerned we’d miss our flight but staff didn’t care. But they kept generators going so the casino was up and running. More concerned about generating revenue than hotel guests. Overall this hotel I was a disappointment. Will not stay here again.

This hotel I stayed at in the downtown area was likely representative of many other older hotels in the vicinity. During my 4-night stay on the 7th floor, I experienced significant issues with noise that disrupted my sleep. Loud noises from the floor above were constant, with the walls and ceiling creaking loudly whenever someone walked overhead. This persistent noise, which lasted from 11pm to 4am each night, made for several sleepless nights. I requested to be relocated to a quieter room on the top floor, but no rooms were available until my final 2 nights. The hotel's close proximity to the lively Fremont Street also meant I could clearly hear the sounds of the area at night, necessitating the use of earplugs. Given these problems, I would most likely not choose to stay at this hotel again.
The self-parking across the street, however, was convenient and did not pose any issues.

Google Review:
“I made a last-minute reservation, but that didn’t matter at all. When I arrived, the manager, Aundrea, came out of the back office, saw me waiting, and called me up right away. After talking with her, I felt totally informed about the surrounding area. She even upgraded my room to give me an amazing view of the beautiful mountains and the Fremont Street walkway, which was only a block away. I got to enjoy the scene without the loud music, which was perfect. The price and location are unbeatable. A huge thank you to Aundrea for making me feel like her favorite cousin or a best friend from high school. I highly recommend this hotel!”

Could earn 5th star with coffeemakers in EVERY room, not just the fancy suites.

Phone system is horrific. They do not have anyone in the billing department, in a Monday during business hours.
