I made an appointment with Maggie for the first time for me and my mother. My mother is disabled and in a wheelchair. Maggie was very accommodating, professional and sweet. We will definitely be returning.

My hair is all choppy and not an even cut unfortunately. The day after I did go back so Maggie could correct it and make it even. I’ve always curled my hair or curled the ends of my hair. Today a month after receiving my hair cut I straightened it with no curls and you can see all the unevenness in my hair I’m upset about this.

They have the best way to dry your hair: under a hair dryer which causes less damage then blow dry. They know how to deal with curly or kinky hair.

First thing very offensive. (African - Americans are not flocking to the Dominican salon to get their hair done. Black woman (that also includes BLACK DOMINICANS and other AfroLatinas: are actually trying to keep their curl pattern in tack. - another case of Dominicans not realizing how black they are. - This is offensive and needs to be rewritten. I know multiple customers who have no curl pattern after coming to Maggie. Secondly Maggie you are black (Dominican is not a race) she keeps using "African Amercian" even in her I'm an reviews clearly not understanding why that's offensive to other types of black people...

I've been seeing Maggie for a year now. My hair has grown so much and flourished with her care!! I barely get split ends and NO HEAT DAMAGE. She uses great products and also oils the scalp which I really like. She ALWAYS deep conditions before a style which I truly believe has made my hair grow. I also have had microlinks by her and they were perfectly colored and blended to my hair. The hair she used is high quality and 100% real and SOFT!! I also really enjoy the atmosphere and pleasant experience everytime I see her. I love Maggie and Ana so much! I plan on traveling once every 2 months from Dallas to continue seeing her. Shes worth it!I attached picture of my hair before seeing Maggie and after! I also have a picture of my Microlinks as well!Services: Haircut

I was reffered to Maggie by my coworker and I absolutely loved how she did my hair! I've gotten ao many compliments already and it hasn't been a week yet!!Funny thing is, I tried to get in with her years back and couldn't so I gave up. Now I regret not being more persistent because my hair would've been in much better shape by now!

Maggie has a natural talent for coloring hair. She really knows how to pick the best hair color that enhances your skin tone. No matter what tone it is :) She's honest and doesn't allow you to pick a color that you'll regret. She looks out and really cares for the hair. She'll have everyone asking you "who's your hair stylist?". Go to Maggie! You won't regret it:)

I am caucasian with dry, unruly hair and i was exhausted trying to fight and style it. Maggie knows what will look best, and does just that. She makes my hair look great, i always get compliments on my hair and color ( brown with golden highligghts). Maggie uses the best products to promote hair growth while her styling technique also help promote hair health. Maggie and her mom make this beauty salon give this salon a feeling of home that other salons just can't/don't offer. It's my weekly ritual of beauty I absolutely love If you have unruly, dry or damaged hair and just want to look as great as possible the "Dominican Designs" is the place to go!

Reply to comment by owner: the customer was my daughter. She normally wears her hair natural and we take good care of it. I purchased a gift cert and gave it to my daughter. I did not know of her negative experience that day. All I remember was her coming home and thought wow she looked pretty. This was many months ago. Yesterday she told me she wanted another roller set and blow out for her college graduation in May and I said no problem I'll buy you another gift cert from Dominican Design she said " Hell No!That lady made me feel bad about my hair" I asked her more questions about that appt and she said she thinks it was the owner, she described you and I showed her your Instagram and confirmed that was you. The words she said you used that offended her was "bad, dry & hard." Which her hair is none of those things. 1) there's no such thing as bad hair 2) she deep conditions it regularly and uses oils. I believe her and she didn't say something before because she didn't want me to be upset. I decided to leave a review today because this is infuriating. I dealt with this pelo malo or pajon crap all of my life and yes that is definitely part of our Dominican culture. Please don't act surprised. No amount of 5 stars on your Yelp can take away from the way she was made to feel when she left your salon. It may not have been your intention to insult her, but you did. No I do not need to contact you privately. This review is all that is needed to make you aware of your actions . Original comment: Im giving 2 stars cause the blow out was done well but the next time you have a young person in your chair maybe don't say negative things about their 4C hair leaving them feeling insulted. It was the owner too. Im a Dominican-American from NYC and this is a rude culture thing that needs to stop. If you want to retain your black clients remember hair shaming isn't the way to do it. In Vegas, word of mouth goes a long way.

I absolutely loved the wash and how my hair turned out. I went in for a wash and roller set with a flat iron. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The only big issue I had was that I felt robbed at the end of my visit. I was told I could be charged 45-65 depending on my hair type. I knew right off I was going to be charged 65 because I have very thick hair. My visit came to 75 because of trimming my ends and a deep condition. I DID NOT ask for a deep condition and was NOT made aware that it would cost extra. I WAS asked for a trim on my ends, but WAS NOT made aware it would cost extra. There are NOT a list of prices on the wall for me to look at to be made aware of the price range either. So, in all...I love my hair, but at least let me know what costs extra BEFORE doing it to my hair, not AFTER.UPDATE:I recently got my hair straightened at my usual stylist after a few months from coming here. What was noticed is that too much heat was placed on my hair from the last time I got it straightened (here) and that I now have layers...or at least more layers than before. TRIMMING my ends DOES NOT mean to CUT it.Main Note:Be careful what you ask for when coming here and make sure what you ask for is being done the way you want it.Service: Hairstyling
