Meredith was referred to me by a family member who has purchased multiple houses using Lake Tahoe Mortgage so I went into the conversations with Meredith knowing that I can rely on her expertise. Meredith was there for me from the start of my home buying process up until the end of the process and she always responded quickly and throughly so I always knew what she was talking about. She was able to explain complex parts of the home buying process so easily to the point it made sense to me, a first time home buyer. Steve's knowledge, and experience is truly second to none. He was extremely informative and patient as my wife and I searched for our first home. As a second time home buyer I’m skeptical of anyone in the home business. After working with Steve, I’ve never felt more comfortable, trusting or confident in the process. Steve with Lake Tahoe Mortgage has been an awesome mortgage broker partner to us. He did our purchase mortgage over a year ago for our house in Reno. I hadn't fully appreciated before then the benefits of working with a broker like Steve vs. directly with a lender, but particularly for any kind of loan that's not just your plain vanilla conforming loan, he can provide a lot of variety of options from different lenders.More recently, we refinanced that same loan into another with a rate and terms we are very happy with. I guess Steve can't take credit for the prevailing market rates, but he certainly does get credit for proactively reaching out with a personal note when rates dipped low enough to make a refi worth our while, and quickly giving us options for significantly lowering our rate and total interest we expect to pay over the life of the loan.Steve's experience and customer service orientation really shows when you ask him questions; he's always willing to spend the time to explain how things work or why you would choose A over B feature. You can tell he is really into how mortgage markets and financial products work, so he can go into as much detail as you want.Both times, I also felt highly confident that he was keeping track of everything that needed to happen in order to close the loan. Since the process is a lot of paperwork at the right time, this "project management" is a basic but very important part of the value Steve brings. I've certainly heard horror stories from friends of loan officers letting details fall through the cracks, but I never worried with Steve handling on our loans.I would definitely recommend Steve and LTM and would seek him out for our future mortgage needs.

What an excellent experience! I used Lake Tahoe Mortgage for my second refinance and Meredith was a cut above the rest. I hadn't worked with a mortgage broker before, but I was shocked at the flexibility in lenders and better rates. The document-gathering process was painless, the appraisal was fast, and the closing went off without a hitch. As far as I can tell, this is the last refinance I'll have to do on this property *ever* and I couldn't be happier. Fast and responsive customer service, and we'll definitely be using them for our next property purchase - they know the Reno and Tahoe markets exceptionally well.

Tom Selleck wasn't available to discuss a Reverse Mtg with us so we decided to talk to Steve Bennett, instead. In all seriousness, I was totally adverse to even considering a Reverse Mtg given the many years of bad press. However, after giving Steve a chance to explain the features and benefits of the product it became clear it was exactly right for us. Steve took his time in his no-pressure capacity to explain every conceivable detail to us. At the end of the day here's the deal: We NEVER have to make another mtg payment....EVER! We are guaranteed to own and stay in our home as long as we choose providing we pay our property taxes and insurance as well as maintain the home. While the loan balance will accrue at roughly 3% annually the home is projected to increase at 4%. If we decide to sell our home in 10-15 years we will still have considerable equity to look forward to. I could go on & on about the benefits from our perspective......However, give Steve a call. He can tailor those same benefits to your situation and I can promise it will be a rewarding experience.

Really enjoyed working with Steve and his team - not only did he always take the time to walk us through every detail of the various mortgage options they have as an independent broker (way better than what our banks had), but he made us laugh with his constantly positive and uplifting attitude, and he cared about what was right for us. Definitely feels like a team worth chatting with if you’re buying a place in Incline, Truckee, or Reno in my book.
