We stayed at the Westin Lake Las Vegas on Saturday, 12/14 and had a miserable stay.
We checked into the hotel at 8pm for a one night stay (we were heading out to Summerlin the next day to watch football at our favorite sportsbook and wanted to arrive the night before to secure seats by 9am the following morning). Unfortunately when we entered our room, it was extremely cold. We turned the heat up to 72° and tried to bundle up until the room warmed up. My wife and I were both extremely tired so we were able to get to bed but we both woke up at 2am shivering. Needless to say, the heat never came on.
So what were our options:
1) Call down and have maintenance look at the heater (it's really unlikely that was going to happen as I doubt they would have had a maintenance person around in the middle of the night).
2) Call the front desk and have them move us to another room (clearly that would have been extremely disruptive and it's doubtful we would have gotten back to sleep).
3) Grin and bear it.
We opted for option 3, but after trying to get back to sleep for the next couple of hours, we just gave up. Las Vegas gets very cold in December and it was in the mid 40s outside. Having no heat is not an option.
We ended up checking out just before 6am and as a courtesy, I mentioned the problem to the front desk on the way out. It was apparent the woman couldn't have cared less about the issue and simply said "Sorry about that...we'll have maintenance look at it". So in other words, we don't care that you were miserable all night but will make sure the person that gets to the room after you is taken care of. The lack of empathy displayed by the front desk person was notable.
Rather than waste time with her, I sent a letter to their corporate office. I received a response back in extremely poor grammar that appeared to be written by someone that spoke English as a 2nd language. The person apologized and gave us a whopping 5,000 Marriott points (oh boy....the standard amount of points needed to get a room is from 25,000 points and up for this area). Seriously guys, don't bend over backwards to take care of a customer. It's simply insulting that you think this is fair compensation. I have put in a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
Needless to say, I will not be returning if this is the type of customer service the management of the hotel thinks is exemplary.

Never coming back here.
This hotel left a terrible impression. The staff is completely incompetent. I planned a relaxing weekend getaway, but it turned out to be impossible. On the morning of check-out, the hotel started calling and even knocking on my door at 8am, completely ignoring the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, even though my check-out was scheduled for 11 or 12. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the lady at the front desk brazenly admitted it was her and added that she had planned to do it at 7 a.m., I guess I should be grateful for her “consideration”
The cleanliness of the room was appalling: black hair everywhere — in the bed, on the toilet, the sink, and even the bathtub. On top of that, the ventilation was filthy, visibly covered in dust, leaving guests to breathe it in.
The restaurant served us a tiny, overcooked piece of salmon for $55 — absolutely outrageous!
The only positives were the view from the room and the surrounding grounds. However, the service and experience are nowhere near worth the price. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

My spouse and I stayed at your hotel on our wedding night, as we believed your luxury property would provide the level of service and experience such a special occasion deserves. Unfortunately, an issue with service has left us quite disappointed.
We ordered Uber Eats and tipped extra to the delivering driver, hoping the food could be delivered directly to our room.
Apparently that's now allowed so we received a call from the front desk saying we needed to come down to pick it up. I asked if someone from the hotel was able to bring us the food, but the lady at the front desk said there was no one available to bring it to us.
When I arrived at the lobby, I noticed two valet staff standing idle, along with two front desk employees--one behind the counter and one standing in front of it. With not one other person or guest around.
Despite four staff members being present and available, none were able to assist us by bringing the food up to our room. Which is ridiculous and unacceptable.
Given that it was our wedding night, this lack of attentiveness was especially disheartening.
We chose your hotel expecting a seamless, elevated experience, and this fell far short of what we anticipated.
I wanted to bring this to your attention, as l believe service at a luxury property like yours should prioritize guest satisfaction, particularly on such a special occasion.
I hope you'll consider this feedback and let me know how you might address this situation.
Food at Marssa was great though.

Disappointing, with most of the hotel shut, including spa, cafe, restaurant. Breakfast buffet is expensive and cold. Worst bit it is the noisiest hotel with slamming doors all night

Nearby activities: Close enough to visit the Strip and area attractions without staying in the middle of it, peaceful and calm property with great views. Staff was amazing from valets, front desk, bartenders to management that went above and beyond.

We booked this trip 3 months in advanced, a king bed with a lake side view. Upon check in we were advised all of the lake side views with the king bed were taken and we had two options, we could take a double bed with a lake side or a king bed but downgraded to a pool side view with absolutely no money reimbursed for either option which is crazy because both options were cheaper than the one we booked online nor did they seem to care. As of time of booking the spa and hot tub were supposed to be open and we found out a few hours after check in that both were closed with no notice whatsoever. I booked this trip for my fiancées birthday and we are extremely dissatisfied with the amount of money we paid for this lackluster stay.
Also if you do book here, make sure you don’t plan to bring leftovers to enjoy back at the hotel because there are no microwaves for guests due to a “health code policy”
