“I love my local Vons and usually only have positive experiences, until today. I placed a pickup order on the app last night for today. When all was said and done, my total was about $88. I go pick up my order today and get an email that my total is now $144. I called the help desk thinking this was an error and I am told that since I didn’t uncheck the “substitute best match” option that they can and will substitute my items with whatever they want with no regard to my total. I’m flabbergasted. The person I spoke to was very nice and gave me a refund for the difference but was sure to let me know that this could happen in the future if I’m not careful to “uncheck the box”. I utilize pick up at a couple of different stores and at all of them, if an item is out they will replace it with an item of equal or greater value at no additional cost to me. I’d rather they say they are out of what I ordered instead of deciding to spend my money on upgrades. Not a good look, Vons.”
