“Hotels/motels in small Nevada towns have a hard life. They are generally well worn and shabby around the edges, some better managed than others. I drive through Hawthorne all the time but haven't stayed. I checked Yelp reviews and booked a room at the Travelodge. This hotel would receive two and a half stars in most other places, but I'm giving it four for a few reasons....Pros:Awesome front desk staff. These gals are super nice and helped me with an issue that I had with Expedia, when Expedia dropped the ball. They were professional at checkin and even froze my ice packs for me. Comfy bed, and the linens looked clean. Convenient for me when traveling through. Complimentary bottled water in the room, which we were thankful for. (Tap water smells sulfuric.)Cube sized mini fridge and microwave in room. Cons:Room needs a very thorough cleaning. There is thick dust on the molding, on the ac/heating unit, and on other surfaces that don't get touched very often (like the sconce shades in the bathroom, fingerprints on doorframes, window sill, etc). The bathroom appeared clean, but the shower probably just had a quick wipe down, if that. There were some hairs, soap scum residue on surfaces, and thick dust on the top shelves of the shower enclosure. Wear your flip flops here. No breakfast. Although, I don't eat hotel breakfasts anyway; they're always disappointing and I have food allergies, but I did hear others ask when I was checking in so figured I should mention this. There is an itty bitty coffee pot in the room.”

“I loved my stay at the motel 6 in Hawthorne, Nevada. The rooms were huge and the motel was peaceful and quiet. Sam, at the front desk was great, friendly and very helpful. I can’t wait to go back and visit this motel and the beautiful little town!Thank you Sam!”

“Pretty good food for this town. I had the chicken fried steak with a salad and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious, except the overcooked vegetables that came with it. It looked understaffed with my poor waitress running from table to table with no time to help everyone, so expect to wait a little.”
