First, I never think it is a good idea for a small business owner to display political flags on the front (or anywhere) on their business. That being said we chose on our own accord to visit her place of business. We purchased a few things and when checking out, my husband asked a basic question about the house as it is historical and presumably haunted. She would not answer, stating there is a haunted tour in a few months (she knew we were from out of town and not returning for the (paid) tour) and that she sold a book answering all questions. We thought it was odd she could not take 2 seconds to answer a pretty basic question, we were the only customers and while we understood a book generated income, it was her behavior and attitude in her answer that we found off putting. Suffice to say, we won't return and told our friends arriving a day later, not to bother. A shame as it's a cute place with interesting items, but behavior speaks volumes.....

Not a lot of items for sale. It's a old 2 storey house with stairs. If your in the area it's a fun house to explore. Who knows you might find something.

Cute store, actually an old small house, about 5 miles off of 395. I'd give the house and the surrounding area 5 stars and the store itself 3 stars. BUT, when my daughter had trouble opening the front door (because the knob is old and doesn't work well) the elderly owner had no problem making sarcastic remarks about how you just "push", as if the problem was my daughter pulling. She even went on to say maybe she should put a sign on the door that says push and that it's really not that complicated. She shouldn't have made the remarks even if it was just my daughter and her parents but she sure has heck shouldn't have made such smart remarks with other customers in the house. So 3 for the store and 0 for the attitude. I'll be gracious and round up from 1 1/2 to 2 instead of down to 1.

Antiques Plus is a wonderful, historical building, that houses very nice Victorian era antiques. Prices are nice. The owner, Mrs. Williams, is knowledgeable and is also an appraiser. There are several rooms on the ground floor chocked full of antiques to look through, and there are two rooms upstairs with very interesting items to view as well. Antiques Plus carries furniture all the way to jewelry - if you can't find what you are looking for, Mrs. Williams will help you in your search. The layout of each room and its items are orderly, neat, clean, an in an appealing manner. If anyone wants to know the history of the house, there is a great book that was written for this structure...(because this is a business, Martha doesn't have time to tell each customer the history.) The grounds are pleasant to walk around....lush lawns and large shady trees. Also, the "to die for" view of the Carson Valley is gorgeous at daytime, mesmerizing during night time.

Our first experience in Genoa, and this place made it aweful! I wouldn't know what it was like inside because we were being told not to come in because I had a very small service animal in arm. Which is not only against the law (minor detail I know) but ludicris as well considering they had a big dog there! Haha. Owners need to know their responsibilities regarding disabilities and the LAW, and also consider that they lost all our money today of which we spent plenty....idiots.

This cute little house with the sign on the door that says its been certified haunted was a nice little stop on our brisk walk into town. Walking up the driveway a gray cat (no name, the owner said her and the others were feral) came running up to greet us meowing and leading us up to the front door. This was BEFORE I saw the haunted sign, which now made sense..... that kitty was walking us up to the front door and talking the whole way. I wonder what the little lady was saying? Anyhow the small house has every room filled with little goodies and treasures of the past. Come on in to check them out if your visiting the town or want to walk off a drink from the Oldest Bar in NV which is right down the street. There are a few antique stores in town but this was the only one open when we came through on a late Monday morning. Definitely worth a stop and look through, you just never know what you might find.

My wife and I always visit this Antique shop when we are in the area. Beautiful home, great variety, good prices. It also claims to be one of the most 'haunted' places in NV. Not really into that stuff, but it is kind of a cool place. It is the only antique shop I have visited that is in a historical home that has product on the second floor. Narrow winding stairs, but worth the climb.
