I wanted an estimate for repairs to my car. The total amount was a bit much for me to take at this point as I am not made of money. Their rep (I think his name was Jason) strong armed me and used high pressure sales tactics to justify the cost. I'm not bent about that, that's what garages do. However, before I was going to surrender a significant chunk of my savings I needed to do my due diligence as a consumer and weigh all my options. After doing that, I felt that while I was going to put myself under tremendous financial pressure to get my car fixed, I felt I could navigate the rough waters. So I contacted Jason as I felt their shop was the best option in Fallon. I gave him the green light, and told him I wanted to schedule an appointment. He told me he was busy and would call me back. That call never came (2nd time I had issues getting a call back from that shop). So either this shop hates money, or they hate working on cars. They wanted to throw their weight around and talk a big game when I was in their office, nowhere to be heard from once I actually offered them the work! I guess they must have a million customers here in Fallon, because they dont seem to want my money. And at this point it's too late, if I'm going to have to shell out big bucks to get my car fixed, I'll take it to a shop that actually returns phone calls and wants to make money.

You bring a functioning van with a light missfire to get a check and you take it back with a soffocated engine and no acceleration, bad work and bad liars, don't bring your car there!

I cannot rate this business because there is not a means to enter a negative. I was driving to Southern California and wanted to get a front end alignment before I made the trip. Dave's was the only company that was not busy and could take me the day after I called - should have been a clue. They called and said I would need an idler arm before they could do the alignment. The original estimate for the alignment was 89.99. the Idler arm was quoted at 79.99 and labor to install at 200.00. I picked my car up and made the trip. They charged me for the alignment PLUS $13.50 for HazMat/Suppl which I was informed was for hydraulic fluid in the lift and "cleaning supplies" none of which was initially mentioned. I purchased the OEM recommended idler arm for less than half what Dave's quoted me and installed it myself in 45 minutes - without a lift! Seriously doubt they have a mechanic in their shop worth more than 200.00 an hour.

These guys and gals went way out of their way to help me figure out a problem and squeezed me in for an oil change. Just the kind of service a traveler with unexpected problems needed.

We were traveling from Oregon to Texas and broke down in Fallon on a Friday at 4 in the afternoon. Our alternator went out and the lady at Dave's automotive went out of her way to make sure we got our car fixed by the next day!!! I would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks again Dave's Automotive!!

We took our 2001 Dodge to Dave's in August 2016. We were informed the truck needed a new gear box, upper/lower ball joints, drag link, new tie rods and new shocks. Basically the whole front end needed repair. They "repaired" the front end and picked the truck up after paying almost $1800.00 and it appeared nothing had been fixed!! There was still a lot of play in the steering wheel and now a thumping noise. Looked underneath the truck and a wire hanger was sticking out. Took it back down and supposedly they "tightened" the steering column. Found out later they're not even certified! On 4/9/18 took the truck down to Les Schwab and they gave us a quote for fix the front end and almost mirrored what Dave's had said they did. Apparently the "new" gear box was a rebuilt gear box and nothing else had been done according to Lew Schwab. PLEASE DO NOT USE DAVE'S AUTOMOTIVE. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE!! We learned the hard way.

We appreciated their attitudes as much as the excellent work they did on our car. Great experience!

After I paid to have a clutch kit put in my car started having issues, they also completely over filled my gear oil which caused a seal to rupture. When I took it back to them they said it was clutch again and that I'd have to pay again to have it looked at. I took it to another shop that in minutes correctly diagnosed it as having no issue with the transmission at all. I won't be back to Dave's.
