I stayed overnight at the Bristlecone Hotel in Ely Nevada on the night of May 2 and May 3, 2023. My room was comfortable enough, though I wish they had thicker blankets. But this was typical with hotels on my road trip six months ago. The total cost for my room was $100.28. My only significant gripe about this property is that it had a problem with both door key cards, But I noticed that this was a fairly frequent problem with hotels. What especially stands out to me is the friendliness and helpfulness of their hotel clerk "Kenna." She was willingly helpful re: my problem with their key cards. Give Kenna a raise and please fix your problem with the doorcards.

While traveling with an 87-year-old mother to a family function in Las Vegas starting from Nampa, Idaho, may I suggest an overnight in Ely, Nevada, and more directly, stay at the Bristlecone Motel. I researched places in Ely on both booking.com and Yelp and this fit my price range and the reviews were generally uplifting. Days before the trip a few negative reviews popped up about the front desk and dirty rooms. I was worried, but I was going to at least try the place first and see what I thought. We arrived as weary travelers after a day in the Yelpmobile. We were greeted by a very nice lady behind the desk. She got us checked in, saw my mom's age and made sure we got a first-floor room. The price was reasonable and as I opened the door to room #111, I was hit with a nice clean aroma. The beds looked wonderful and everything in the bathroom was clean. Bonus! We were absolutely thrilled with our stay here and would urge others to stay here as well. Lots of great options to eat within walking distance. Parking is a little tricky if you arrive later, I think a repainting of the lines and the layout could make room for more.

stay in hotel in August 2023. booked on hotels..com. prepaid for booking. arrived at hotel.a kid is running the front desk could not find my reservation. he found the reservation then said someone had already checked in. They had to go check the room to make sure no one was in the room. they took my credit card for incidentals and charge the card again for 101.13. I booked two rooms for one night. I'm still disputing that with credit card company. they refuse to return my money. I go to watch TV and the TV does not work and the batteries are dead in the remote control. I go to the front desk and ask for more batteries and they can't find any. Then I go back into the room and there's bugs everywhere the room is disgusting. Do not stay there horrible place. the staff is unorganized and have no clue of what they are doing. The place should be shut down by the health department.

I stayed here on 9/19/23. I was very disappointed. First room the sheets didn't appear to have been changed from previous guests. New room the bathroom floor was filthy water in the shower unable to regulate. It was either scalding or cold. The microwave didn't work. There was no breakfast other than coffee and some stale pastries. I feel this place is over rated and overpriced

No A/C in the room. How do you pay for a hotel room and get no A/C! Called front desk to ask why we can't get our room under 83 degrees and they had no solution. If you like the basics of at least keeping your room at a comfortable temperature when you sleep than don't book here.

This is a basic motel, but it was clean and comfortable. Room had a mini-fridge and microwave. Most of the rooms look out on the parking lot; mine had a smaller window looking out on an alley in back. Personally, I don't care as long as I have natural light, but if you do care about the view, it would be worth mentioning when you reserve. A lot of rooms were only accessible by stairs, some of them kind of tricky stairs; again, something to mention when reserving, if accessibility is important to you. They do have continental breakfast, but I didn't stay for that so can't tell you how it was. There's a pretty good Mexican restaurant next door - all the standard dishes and big margaritas.

This basic motel provided welcome respite following a long drive from California. Decent coffee and a basic breakfast were what was needed to get me moving east again. Having previously stayed at another hotel in Ely which smelled like an ashtray, was noisy, and which lacked a refrigerator in the room, I will gladly return to Bristlecone Motel instead. Huge thanks to both Ericas for making my stay here so positive.

Day 39 of motorcycle trip. I'd like to know how this place got a 3 star rating. There are certain amenities we expect from a 3 star hotel and this is definitely not it. Older place, stained carpet is 1st thing you see when you open the door. Soap is the thinnest cheapest soap available. No lamp on nightstand. Bed seems comfy, haven't slept in it yet, we were so disappointed I wanted to post this review immediately. We were told Breakfast is Danish and coffee. Towels are mismatched beige and white. The shower is weak. If it wasn't such a pain to pack up the bikes again, we'd ask for our money back and go someplace else.Just looked under the bed, there's a soda can, dirty glass and paper. Vacuuming is poor and there's a wad of hair in the tub.Rooms: Large, but not the Jr. Suite we expected. The website is very deceiving. This is a 1 star motel at best.Noteworthy details: Website pictures are deceving

Not too bad. The 4th motel I've stayed in, in Ely NV. The pros: -Kindest service from night shift gal, friendliest dog ever-Clean AF. Seriously, clean clean. -Cost isn't too horrible. $123 a night out the doorThe cons: - Not enough parking. Had to park on the spots that you had to go up the sidewalk to get to. Easy enough in my pickup with light traffic. A nightmare for one with a small car. Look it up on Google Street View, you'll see what I mean.. all other spots were taken- Lobby closes at 10, no microwave in room. Eh, not a deal breaker. All in all, 8/10

My room was clean, good AC, comfy linens and bed. There's a restaurant/casino conveniently located across the street. Other places to eat are easy to get to on foot. FYI--because of the location of the property at the bottom of a hill, there was noise at night from engine braking of trucks coming to a stop at the intersection outside the motel. With AC and/or fan going it was less noticeable. My room was right on the corner of the property so I was very close to the street, which was why it was so noticeable. I've stayed here before and we had a room away from the road and this wasn't an issue.

TLDR: BED BUGS! Disgusting room that was not clean. Terrible service from management and ownership.*********I was very pleased with my experience - until I showed up. The staff was very helpful accommodating after I let them know we would be checking in late.Unfortunately, we arrived to a room that had not even been cleaned. There was a pile of takeout food left on the table. The table was sticky and covered in food crumbs and trash - there was trash in the cans. There were dirty towels on the floor of the bathroom, the toiletries and sink were covered in hair clippings. The room smelled like cigarettes and rotting food. The room also infested with bed bugs. There was no means to contact any employee after the office was closed at 10PM.Overall, zero out of five experience.***UPDATE***For multiple days, I was told that I would be contacted by the GM and/or the owner and that I would be issued a FULL refund. After I had to call them every day for a week, I was finally told that they would be giving me a whopping 20% discount since the room was used that night. What a slap in the face. This is an absolute joke of a business that cares nothing for their guests or having integrity as a business.Stay away.Noteworthy details: BED BUGS

The outside definitely doesn't match the inside. The room is huge, the bathroom isn't too small. Will definitely be staying here again. The only down side is the office closes at 10:30pm and I work late. But the gal was super friendly and got my situation sorted out quickly.
