Very accommodating. The place was clean and well maintained and the animals are clearly loved. We adopted our Alex (Noah), the singing cat, from this place 7 months ago. Alex is a wonderful cat.

Called the shelter to inquire about one of the dogs available for adoption. I asked if the dog was a stray or surrendered and was told the owner surrendered the dog. I then asked if there were any reported behavioral problems and the shelter rep said no. I then decided to go and meet the dog 30 minutes drive that was a waste of time. The poor dog had extreme behavioral problems. A month prior to being surrendered the dog bit the owner twice. By the way the dog was acting it seemed that his aggression stemmed from being abused. In any case the Tech that was at the meeting with the dog read me the entire intake report on this poor dog. Had I known this information prior to making the trip to the shelter I would not have gone to meet this poor dog. The Shelter needs to train the reps that are answering the phones. If someone asks about behavioral problems read the file and respond truthfully.

Amazing place and people! They care so deeply for the animals in their care. Adopted our fur baby Castiel from there last year and couldn't be happier.

This is a great non-kill shelter. The staff are amazing and very helpful. And the animals are very well cared for and assessed. They are a great place to find your forever friends.

We had to put our dog to sleep, and the Humane Society was very compassionate all the way through the process

We wanted to adopt a new girl because we lost our baby of 19 years. I really didn't expect to find one that quickly but Bella quickly melted my heart and I knew we had to bring her home.

We adopted our dog from the Carson City location two years ago. We love our dog and she is perfect, however, thinking back to the adoption process, I realize now that this place needs some serious reform. I went in on a weekday, right when they opened. I asked for the dog I wanted to meet and they brought out the dog to the meeting room. I told the lady I wanted to spend some time getting to know the dog and she gave me a huge attitude and asked if I was going to take more than 15 minutes. 15 minutes!!! You want me to decide whether or not I was going to adopt the dog in 15 minutes?!?! I sat in the room with this dog that was covered in feces. She had just been picked up as a stray and been spayed, yet they did not bathe the dog before the surgery? If they did, then they let this dog stay covered in feces after surgery, exposing her stitches to the filth. SMH... The front desk lady kept on interrupting me every 5 minutes to ask if I was done yet. There was no one else waiting to use the room! What was the rush?!?! I spent a total of 30 minutes before deciding to rescue this sweet little girl from that hell hole. The people were just so rude about everything. No help at all getting out of the building with a scared dog who was basically stuck to the ground. Not a single person stepped up to open the door for me as I picked up this $h*' covered dog and walked out. They all just sat behind the counter and laughed. I volunteer at various animal shelters and donate large sums to animal causes, but this place will not get any support from me. Worst people ever!!!

I adopted my furever baby on Friday evening. I was super excited, but the girl who handled my adoption was less than friendly. I mentioned that I had just lost my 14 year old dog in August and she didn’t even say a word. No empathy whatsoever. I was pretty disappointed in the whole experience thanks to her. Do better at training your people, humane society. She doesn’t need to be working with the public. Other than that, I feel super fortunate to have found the perfect companion. I love him.

They were really good at what they do in matches up pets .I want to say I already have to dogs .I have a service dog that I trained from her and different rescue dog from another place but I decided to stick with what I have cuz of costs and other things. But theses people have gotten even better than 3 or 4 years ago or since I had been there..Nothing but very ?..

Carson City's Humane Society was Clean and organized. I was helped by Linda, who was knowledgeable and informative to the questions and concerns I had about choosing a pet for myself, she made me feel comfortable with the choice I had made, and will diffenetly return for another pet in the future. Thank you ?
