Sad to see it go. I hope they enjoy their retirement.

You know the old antique stores in a town, the ones that you walk into that are such a mis-mosh of stuff that you either get lost and can spend hours or you instantly get overwhelmed and have to leave because no amount of brass monkeys or circus posters or African art could possibly sort the jumbled pieces into any sense at that moment? That's Hanifin's. You walk in past massive tomes of Shakespeare's original works, an electric wheelchair into a showroom the literal size of the city block that you think might have rows (it doesn't), so you walk up and down the same aisle passing antique bedpans (collectible you say?), huge armoires that would dwarf the furniture in my house (and I don't live in a doll house), albums and albums of postcards-Easter postcards, separated by states (ironically none from NV), and some other furniture items that... let's just say are no longer appropriate (and never were) from other countries. They also have some silver items in the display case. However, they lost their lease!!! Everything is 30% off as of August. They have until the end of the year to move. And the ladies that work there say they are retiring for good this time. So if you have something that you are looking for, this could be your chance.

Hanifin's is a wonderful antique store! They carry huge variety of styles and different furniture, China, posters, art, and anything else you can possibly think of! The service is very knowledgeable and friendly. Robin was particularly very helpful! When shopping for antiques, I would definitely start here.

If you happen to be strolling along one of the beautifully renovated downtown streets in Carson City and you have an interest in all things vintage, pop in to Hanifins. You'll find quality antiques of every kind packed into every corner. I could have spent an entire afternoon exploring. Don't bring the kids.

Stay away! The owner treats customers like they are an annoyance. Extremely rude and verbally abusive owner. He was verbally hostile and aggressive for "blocking" an aisle in his store?

First they are not wheelchair friendly. I collect Lladro figurine found five that I wanted to purchase. Asked for prices had to wait 20 minutes for owner one piece was damaged in asked the price he said 225 I gasped and said no. Then him blew up on me that I wasted his time and yelled get out of my store. I could buy this same piece on e-bay for 140 with no damage. My stress level was a 10. Talk about time wasted that would be MINE!!!!!!!

You never know what you will find here. Some of the items they have collected to sell are amazing! Not only is it an antique store, it is like being in a museum! I recommend going here!

This place is great and very big inside. So much to look at and some really unique furniture and pieces in there if your looking for something. I wasn't very lucky getting any help for what I was looking for but was fun looking on my own. I asked once and the man didn't look very enthusiastic in my request so we just took a look around anyway the ladies at the counter were really friendly but said we'd have to ask him for help so we just browsed and left.

It has some beautiful items. Prices aren't too bad - but older, nice antiques are expensive. It's jam packed though, and you can't even get through to view them. I give it a 3 1/2 stars. I will definitely go back and spend more time.

Don't go, unless you're in the mood to be treated poorly. Such a horribly rude man who owns this business. It costs nothing to just be kind to strangers, much less to your customers! We won't ever be returning, nor recommending to friends.

One of my favorite things to do 2 to 3 times a year it's go up and visit the owner of the store he's always so very kind and generous passing out jams gift cards to local restaurants or whatever it is my special treat and my true guilty sin of indulgence to buy fine quality crafted items from all over the world this case is impeccable and unfortunately I can never quite get out of the door without seeing three or four more things that I truly truly need this is a must stop on your Carson City tour the quality and rarity of some of the items in the store are absolutely amazing
