It’s been 6 years since we’ve lived in this apartment complex and are still having freaking problems with them (please see previous reviews). We received and paid our final bill upon move out in July of 2018. A few months later, we randomly got a letter from a collections agency. Jokes on them, because we keep a paper and video trail of everything. It was apparently resolved (to absolutely no help of the front office who never returns calls) NOW, 6 years later, we get a collections call for the same charges as last time. A utility bill for the months AFTER we moved out. Thank god we saved our paper trail and have all of our move-out paperwork. I mean….6 YEARS LATER. What the actual hell is going on with this place?! You’re messing with people’s livelihood and credit. See all od the many reviews of this happening to multiple people. It’s extremely sketchy. As a military family, we have lived in many complexes as well as owned our own homes, and this place is the ACTUAL worst experience we’ve ever had. Definitely do NOT rent here. You will most certainly regret it.

The Oaks at Lakeview: A Narrative ReviewI spent several years not just living-- but thriving at The Oaks. Now, take my hand, and let’s take a trip down memory lane together.Just kidding, I’ll try to be succinct. Overall, I highly recommend these apartments. I endured several staff changes throughout my time here, and please rest assured that the management AND maintenance staff members were quick to respond, respectful, and made things right when something went wrong (e.g., quickly tended to AC unit when it stopped working, got us a loaner washer when ours decided to open the flood gates, helped me get in touch with the roofing contractors when I got a nail in my car tire to get reimbursed, battled a big spider with fangs that was building his own apartment complex out of his spidery silky webby nastiness outside of my patio door, etc.).To close, moving out was an easy process. You just have to follow the rules you SIGNED YOUR NAME TO IN YOUR LEASING AGREEMENT. That may be a surprise to some of you, but please read the items to which you are agreeing. I read the lease. In fact, I read it every night before bed.I know I just refuted a lot of what these other reviews say, but you can trust me, I’m a doctor now.

SO happy I am spending over $1000 per month for a place that has high criminal activity. Multiple cars being broken into, and a carjacking where firearms were involved...so much for a "gated community" oh wait, the gaits never work. There is a constant smell of weed in the halls, trash never being cleaned up in the buildings, and there is never any parking. I do not recommend.

Lived here for a few years.I really liked the apartment. The floorplan was pretty solid, all the appliances worked and I never had a maintenance issue. Most of the neighbors were pretty okay. There was several that were awfully noisy though.Almost everyone has a dog, and while the apartments are relatively sound insulated, the doors are not. If your neighbors dog down the hall barks, you'll probably hear about it. Also there appeared to be a standing rule that no one was supposed to pick up after their dog because there was dog waste everywhere. The pool is way to small for a complex this size, I think they have it just to check off the boxes of amenities. The parking lot was ultimately the main reason I moved out. There aren't enough parking spots - nor were there nearby available garages. The parking lot was also extremely poorly lit and the snow/ice removal usually happened well after it was too late for it to make any difference. The gate was broken more often than it worked and the parking lot would be vastly improved if they just switched to a gravel lot, it was that bad with pot-holes.

When moving into the apartment we were told we could see the apartment three days before moving in. Once we arrived we were told that we could not see the apartment cause it hadn’t been cleaned yet. The day of us moving in we noticed a yellow stain around the toilet. Wendy said she would have someone come out and either fix the yellow stains or replace the tile. She never had anyone come look at the floor nor fix the floor. An apartment on the same floor I reside on has two dogs that bark nonstop. They bark all morning, all day, and all night. The yellow ring is still there and it was never fixed. My neighbor above me smokes cigarettes everyday and his ashes and cigarette butts are always on my deck. The front gates are broke ever other day. I honestly feel they should replace the gates or get rid of them because they never work. The parking is horrible. If you aren’t home at 3:00pm there won’t be any parking near your building. The walls at the is apartment complex are very thin. Our apartment is next to the staircase so we can hear people walk up and down the stairs everyday. I’ve never stayed at an apartment complex that had walls this paper then.Update do not live at this apartment complex! When you move out they charge you bullsh*t fees that they lie about to get extra money from you! This company is literally money hungry and all they try and do is charge extra fees they add onto your monthly bill! Seldin is not a good company. Stay far away!

The apartments themselves look fairly nice and there are some included amenities like the pool and gym that are great to have. The appliances aren’t great and often break such as my dishwasher, garbage disposal and air conditioning. I’ve put more maintenance requests in during one year of living here than I have in all my years in other apartments combined but the maintenance crew comes quickly to fix them. However the leasing office and management is the worst I’ve ever dealt with, they seem to have no clue what they are doing and aren’t very nice. Every person I talked to before moving in listed me a different rent price as one told me the there was a rent special that the other seemed to have no idea existed. Then when trying to renew my lease they told me a different rent price then what was the on renewal letter they sent me and then emailed me a completely different apartments tenants renewal offer telling me that my rent would be over $100 more than what it should be. They seem to be a complete mess in that office and keep trying to overcharge me.

I am a fairly new resident here and I honestly can say I am so happy I am living here with my family. I love how the maintenance team responds so quickly; they are detailed and do not just put a “bandage” on the issue. They are a friendly and professional team. Before applying, my husband and I read the reviews. The biggest complaints at the time have been addressed and appropriately communicated! One of the issues addressed was the parking lots having large potholes. Yeah, when we first drove in to get a tour, we noticed the large potholes. It was an inconvenience, however, it did solve the problem of other residents/visitors driving so fast through the lot! At this time, there are no potholes and I think the speed bumps help the speedy drivers slow down. The other issue was in regards to residents not picking up the bowel movements (BM) from their dogs. The apartment complex have many waste pick up stations installed (with trash cans) and people still don’t pick up the BM. Now they have a new system that every dog owner must comply with, and I think it will solve the issue! I love it here and I look forward to the next few years of living here.

We lived there for 2 years. Overpriced. No caretakers. When we moved in the apartment was not clean and neither was the garage. We dealt with pot holes the whole time we lived there. Yes, pot smell was in our building. Sometimes monthly power outages. Luckily we had a generator. Once when power was out car was locked in underground garage. They did not seem to enforce people not picking up after their dogs. They did not give us prior notice when they were testing the fire alarms...my dog had a medical procedure that morning and the stress from that alarm blaring made his situation worse. He ended up passing that same night. They charged an extra $250.00 to go month to month and our house build was delayed for 5 months..so yes over $1000 extra. Would not recommend.

Love our apartment. We have been here about 2 years and truly love the staff. Everyone is pleasant and always helpful. Recently had h water leak from upstairs. This was 9:00 at night and maintenance our wiring the hour. Early the next morning maintenance lady Lydia, stopped by to see what needed to be done. She recommended the carpet crew come in to extract the carpets. She really didn’t need to offer that but I felt she really cared about the outcome in this unfortunate situation. Thanks! I appreciate you!Everyone here has went above and beyond to make this our “HOME” ❤️

Attention to new college students and renters, DO NOT SIGN A LEASE here.I lived here for 4 years because of the location, good community, and overall decent units. But the last year or two had left alot to be desired. The management and staff is constantly changing and there is no consistency in information provided. It seemed like every day they were leaving early so if you needed anything you'd have to wait until the next day. They'll tell you that you'll get a discount and then it won't happen. They tell you the horrible parking lot with literal craters will get fixed soon....but it does not happen. Unless you want to spend thousands fixing your car on top of the high rent, do not move here. The "secure" gates are always broken. And most importantly, after 4 years and never missing or being late on rent and no complaints they charged me $181 for fees never made clear. I called them and left a voicemail but never heard back. Lo and behold a few weeks later I get a letter from collections on that $181. It's some of the worst management I've seen. I went ahead and paid the $181 to just get rid of that part of my life. So if anyone's thinking about moving here, just don't do it. Save yourself stress on the back end.

Hands down the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in. I can’t imagine how many vehicles have been destroyed by this dreadful pot hole infested parking lot. Make sure not to leave your windows down as they’re many thief’s in the area but more look out if you drive a work van or truck. Also power tends to go out here a lot and maintenance is a joke. Some people are nice, most stuck up. (:

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. From day 1 we had problems and still do to this day after we have moved out. They refuse to do what they say they are going to do, have tried charging us well over 2K MULTIPLE times on charges we have already either disputed or have already paid, and showed proof of payment, and have since sent things to collections and refuse to return my phone calls. The fact they call themselves professional is a joke. Do yourself a favor and stay away. Needless to say the damage done to my 2 cars from the potholes they say they will fix time and time again and never do get fixed. Our car was broken into and things were taken, police were contacted on our behalf because the so called security they have every night, which we failed to see once in the 2 years we lived there, had not seen anything so they would not report to the police. I cannot believe the amount of problems I've had with them since the new management has stepped in. The complex is non-smoking which is why we moved there with our infant at the time, and multiple times we found people smoking right outside our patio and shooters thrown into our patio. They then sent us a letter saying we needed to take care of our space or we would have fines charged against us. After I told them of the things happening they said there was nothing they could do about it and it fell on us because it was our property. We had multiple instances of people smoking marijuana in the complex, and reported it. Management did absolutely nothing about it, and the only reason I was concerned about it is because it was seeping into our space and making our things smell of it, which could impact my husband and I's jobs significantly due to strict policies at our workplaces. I have absolutely had it with this place and the employees that work there. No wonder this place overturns management so quickly. Like I said before, do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!!!!!

I really love my apartment and the area is quiet and feels safe. Administratively, I have had nothing but issues. I'm only one month into my lease and I have a lot of regret. This was a really exciting move for me but it has been clouded with lack of response and misinformation from the management of this property. I was told I couldn't see my unit before I moved in because they would need to clean the unit. When I moved it, it was a mess. Food splatter on the walls and doors.I had completed a checklist of damages to the apt before move in. Put in service requests for non working electrical and missing components. A week later, I found out that Paula never submitted my requests and I was sitting around waiting for service techs that weren't on the way.I was told my rent would be $200 off the second month. Turns out Josie gave me the wrong information (the money was credited, but to a different month) and it is unfortunate for no one but me.The parking lot is an absolute embarrassment and I'm sure to need suspension repairs on my car in no time. So, if you enjoy chasing your own tail, this is the place for you.
