Staff has always been friendly. The building has always been clean. Exercise equipment is well maintained. Locker rooms are clean, a little dated, and cold. The locker rooms are especially cold coming from the pool, although probably refreshing after a heavy workout. Overall and enjoyable experience

Parents of Toddlers/Young Children looking for swimming lessons: My 3 year old son nearly DROWNED at the Sarpy YMCA at his first swimming lesson. My husband had to jump in to rescue him as neither of his instructors noticed he had fallen in the pool.
We enrolled our son, who just turned 3, in 1/Water Acclimation (ages 3-5 years) - where the class description says the focus is on water safety — “learn to safely exit in the event of falling into a body of water… learn personal water safety” and also learn to swim/float/swim with assistance. This is the next level after the parent/child swim class.
The two instructors did NOT provide any safety information to the children before having them enter the water. Within the first 10 minutes they had the 5 children in the class sitting on the edge in the 3-4 ft deep part of the pool. My son went from sitting on the edge of the pool to falling into the water. He went under, came up and flailed, and went under again since he could not stand in such deep water. Neither of his two instructors noticed and the instructor who was an arm’s length away from my son had his back turned to him. I was screaming to the lifeguards and pointing. By the grace of God, my husband happened to be on the same side of the pool where the lessons were taking place and he jumped in with his clothes on to pull our son out of the water.
If you have a young child who is just learning to swim PLEASE take them elsewhere. Because of what happened, my son is now terrified of getting in a pool, even with me holding him, and he continues to talk about the time he fell in the water where he couldn’t stand and the water went in his face. I am writing this review in the hopes of saving another family from going through what we did.

I enjoy the group classes, (especially Body Pump), at the Y because I will always push myself harder than I do when I'm exercising alone. The accountability in doing exercise tracks with others is very helpful and the instructors are fun, relatable, and energizing.

Started off well! However, if the pride is putting Christian principles into practice-that’s not the customer service we ended with. We truly wanted to stay. It really would’ve been awesome to know that with their business error, we were seen as a human versus just another number.

Pool isn’t very clean and Horribly sketchy business practices. Reception tells me my account will cancel after 2 months of non payment. But they dont tell you theyll continue trying to charge you every few days until it goes through. Not in the contact. They stole money from me. Director was no help. Go to the landing instead! Cleaner and trustworthy!

Love the pool is open often, so often, not like the center on 370 and fort crook. You don't pay when you use the pool like the center.

The staff at the Sarpy YMCA is always pleasant and knowledgeable about the policies. There is also a schedule posted at the desk for classes. Saves on paper.?
