I haven't worked for this company. But I had a phone call with a recruiter named Camille on February 22nd at 12:30. And I could not believe the phone call.Camille was rude and confrontational. Twice. I had to de-escalate the conversation before. I finally ended it. She was very sarcastic and dismissive. All I wanted to know were the basics of the company while I was deciding where to switch careers to. I just wanted to know things like pay, benefits, availability for regional or dedicated work. She was not interested in answering any of these questions, unless I was ready to come to work today. She said she was not going to waste a half an hour of her time answering questions. I had always thought that was the point of driver recruiters, answering questions about the company to help a driver decide if the company was a good fit.And remember Camille is the public face of this company. Camille is the one that lets drivers know exactly what they will be working with when they come to work at Crete. And Camille has made it clear that you will be working for a company that sees the driver as a drain on time and resources, rather than the commodity for sale to the customer. The whole idea that if you complain you will be beaten until the complaints stop. This is what Camille is offering.I would strongly recommend any driver to pursue other opportunities rather than work for Crete. I know I won't be.

If there’s one word that perfectly encompasses this company and it’s staff…it’s “arrogance.” From top management to dispatchers, they all exude an aura of contempt and condemnation towards their drivers…so even when you’re right, you’re wrong. When you call in with an issue, they behave as if you’re wasting their time and they can’t wait to get you off the phone. When you leave a message asking for a call back, it won’t be returned because you’re not worth their time. The mechanics in shop aren’t much better but they’re a mixed bag. If you have to take your truck in for repairs, you will be waiting DAYS for it to finish. They’re not in a rush. If you have to sit for 2 days waiting on a load, you will not receive any layover pay. According to Crete, if there’s no loads available then they don’t pay it ?♂️ Remind me again how that is the driver’s problem? The very nature of layover is to protect drivers when we can’t drive and earn…but Crete weaseled out of it, naturally.Dispatchers won’t even try to get you home on your days off. I was set at 5 days out, 2 days off and every single weak without fail, I had to call in and remind them. For the record, not once did I get home within that time frame. They’ll also cheat you out of miles so you need to watch it. I once had to drive 30 miles out of their routing to remain on a truck route…and they didn’t pay it.I argued with them for days about it but it fell on deaf ears. The few positives about this company would be their terminals, which are nice, although the pretentious office staff will have to be tolerated. The trucks are well taken care of too…and that’s about it.I have many personal stories about these guys, such as when they left my wife and I stranded in their truck dying of COVID without so much as a wellness check, sick pay, or any help whatsoever…but that’s another matter.Keep searching and pass these guys up.PS - they love to stick a camera in your face and treat you like a common criminal as well. They do not have holiday pay, detention begins after TWO hours, and they even took away the surge pay without telling any of the drivers. You’ve been warned.

Not sure why people are being negative, I've been here 10 years and never experienced a single unfixable issue from breakdown to management. Adam Christie is my asset manager and he bends over backwards for us, I've never had issues with him getting me home or getting me miles. If I've ever had a bad load I just get it done knowing he'll make it up later and I'm good with that. He's AWESOME!!!

PROS & CONS ⚠️ It's not a bad place to shut down for a reset. The environment is clean, and the staff is friendly. Washers & and dryers are available along with showers. They also do safety courses in this facility for the purpose of increasing safety points towards the company. The food in the restaurant is good, and prices are fair, $5-$6. I would shut down here again. I can't speak too much on the company itself as I am still fairly new (2-3months). So far, though, the atmosphere is welcoming, and staff has been professional and straightforward (⚠️Minus Recruiters in Mechanicsburg, PA... they lied about pay multiple times, and pay turned out lower than expected - if it wasn't because I had a situation that kept me from working in other companies, I would have quit during orientation⚠️. Currently building back a good working reputation?). Outside of that, I am getting good miles, and dispatchers have good communication with drivers. Trucks are well maintained and clean before their assigned to a driver. OVERALL, minus recruiter nonsense lies, it has been a good experience.Quick Food Note: If you decide to get a burger, KNOW that the burgers are already pretty thick, selecting the "Double" option will leave you making a mess while eating. The single burger is good enough. Goodluck & Enjoy!

The Worst Trucking Nightmare: Crete Carrier Corp's Dysfunctional CircusRating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5 stars)I have had the unfortunate experience of working for Crete Carrier Corp, and I can confidently say that it is the epitome of a trucking company gone terribly wrong. From the moment I joined their ranks, I encountered an array of nightmarish situations that left me bewildered and utterly disappointed. Allow me to recount the many reasons why Crete Carrier Corp deserves every bit of its abysmal one-star rating.First and foremost, let's talk about the office and support staff. Nosy doesn't even begin to describe them. They seem to take it upon themselves to pry into every aspect of your personal life, invading your privacy at every turn. Whether it's asking intrusive questions or spreading gossip like wildfire, their unprofessional behavior creates an unbearable working environment. Instead of focusing on their jobs, they seem more interested in playing the role of amateur psychologists, constantly scrutinizing and judging their fellow employees. But the atrociousness doesn't stop there. Crete Carrier Corp's terminals are a perfect reflection of their overall incompetence. Dingy, outdated, and poorly maintained, these terminals leave drivers feeling like they've stepped into a time warp. The lack of basic amenities and the disregard for cleanliness only add insult to injury. It's as if the company believes that drivers deserve nothing more than subpar facilities, despite being the backbone of their operation. One of the most infuriating aspects of my time with Crete Carrier Corp was their flagrant disregard for the truth. They allowed falsified and erroneous information to influence my departure, even though the supposed event in question occurred prior to my employment and held absolutely no relevance to the trucking industry. It became abundantly clear that honesty and integrity were merely buzzwords for this company, with management conveniently manipulating information to suit their whims. What truly enrages me is Crete Carrier Corp's insincere claim that employees are "family." This couldn't be further from the truth. Instead of fostering a supportive and nurturing work environment, the company thrives on abusive and hypocritical policies. They preach unity while creating an environment of distrust, where drivers are treated as disposable commodities rather than valued team members. Their "family" rhetoric is nothing more than a smokescreen, designed to mask the exploitative nature of their business practices. In conclusion, Crete Carrier Corp is a trucking company that epitomizes everything that is wrong with the industry. From the intrusive office staff and dismal terminals to their willingness to twist the truth, this company has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. If you value your sanity, dignity, and overall well-being, I implore you to steer clear of this dumpster fire of a company. There are plenty of other reputable trucking companies out there that will treat you with the respect and fairness you deserve. Crete Carrier Corp, you should be ashamed of yourself for the abysmal way you treat your employees.

I've worked here for almost two years. I've been a truck driver for over 21 years. This is one of the best companies I have ever worked for. I make great miles and can go home when I need or want to. I just choose not to go home often as I know as a truck driver if the wheels aren't turning you're not making money. They offer great pay with plenty of miles. To the driver Angie who says Crete doesn't hire drivers without experience you are incorrect. Crete hires drivers who have little experience they just have to go out with a trainer. I know this as a fact as my daughter came to Crete after completing trucking school and driving for another company for about 2 or 3 months.

Crete is home for me, the last company I drove for that treated me like a person was Keaton Truck Lines but that was back in 93-01'. If you can't make good money at Crete, Shaffer or Hunt that's a you problem and not Crete's doing.Edit: I just took another look at the reviews and can see Shaffer/Crete are still keeping their hiring standards up where they should be. Just because you didn't make the cut doesn't mean you should post negative comments about a company that has an industry high on drivers with 10+ years of service and many million milers.Do we have some bad actors? Yes, for a company with 5,000+ drivers I would be a fool to say no, but on the other hand, they don't last long here.

I have worked for Crete since Nov of '96. Through thick and thin, they have been there. On March 31 of this year I had a stroke. According to the DOT regs, I cannot drive commercially for one year. Crete is sticking with me helping me jump through the hoops of insurance and getting things squared away. They haven't walked away and I really appreciate it.
