In the early hours of February 2, 2024, around 5 am, at Casey's Truck Stop in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, off exit 13 on I-380, I was in line for fuel behind two other trucks. I pulled up to pump 15 when a driver in a yellow Peterbilt with vivid green lights aggressively parked close behind me and started shouting from his window. Approaching him to understand the issue, he confronted me aggressively, claiming I had cut him off from fueling. However, I hadn't realized he was waiting, as he was parked among other trucks, appearing to be resting. The situation escalated with him verbally assaulting me and challenging me, and he even went as far as turning off the fuel pump attempting me to keep from fueling. To avoid further conflict, I took photos of his truck's company name and license plate and tried to return to my truck, but he followed, continuing his tirade and filming me. Ironically, none of the fuel pumps were operational, so no fueling was possible. Having worked in maximum security prisons in Iowa for a good portion of my life and been a professional driver since 1987, as well as a disabled combat veteran and suffer from PTS so I probably could have handled myself differently and for that I apologize. I am accustomed to threatening and aggressive behavior, but this individual, Dennis Hammer, tested my patience severely, if it was the old me, things would have played out a whole lot differently. Despite multiple attempts to defuse the situation, including feigning a call to the Sheriff's Department, it only resolved when I left the scene in my truck with him still yelling, screaming and calling me names.

Been working for them for just over a year now. Never been happier. Other places claim to treat you like a person, not a truck #. Here I actually am treated like a person, with respect an everything. I only wish I could of found McMullen sooner. But here I am, and here I'll stay for as long as they will have me.
