Having read other reviews, particularly the recent one-star reviews, I wish to add my review and two cents. I can also assure you that this is not a “fake” review as other reviewers have accused.Over the last few years, I have adopted both a dog (Cash) and a cat (Nickle) through KAAS; both of which would not be alive today without KAAS’s skilled care prior to adoption. With both adoptions, staff was very welcoming, friendly, and eager to assist. Their screening process for potential adopters IS thorough, which I personally can appreciate very much. Homeless animals are very vulnerable creatures and KAAS does their due diligence to ensure that they go to a responsible and suitable home that can fully care for the animal. Their adoption fees are very reasonable, and a pittance compared to the true lifelong cost of an animal. Additionally, because many of the animals arrive quite ill and all receive veterinary care, they often lose money even with adoption fees.Finally, I want to personally thank the director of KAAS. On a holiday weekend, when the on-call veterinarian was not available and I was desperate for help, she provided excellent care and personal time to my found orphaned kitten. She is knowledgeable, selfless, and a blessing to have at KAAS.If you are looking for a new family member or place to donate your time or money, I highly encourage you to visit KAAS as I cannot recommend them enough!

Went to get a cat and had a terrible time, and horrible service. I asked for help and was not given any, and the attitude from them was like they didn't care. Was hoping to get a cat that would be a playmate for my cat, who is barely a year old. They made the cat that I got seem like the best, and I trusted their judgment. A few days later, I found that the cat I got was acting more as a parent towards my cat. I was not looking for that. I remembered the policy that I signed, which stated that there was a return policy that lasted for a week after getting said pet. Which stated that you could return said pet, and half of what you paid would go towards another pet. So I went to get a pet that would better suit my needs. Only I got yelled at and belittled and told that I was traumatizing the cats, I only ever had one from there. I was also told I'm supposed to take a month to let them all get along. Only the return policy wouldn't last that long. I could clearly see that they wouldn't. Then I was told I wasn't allowed to get another cat because they didn't trust me. My only question and concern is why have a return policy if you aren't going to honor it or even keep it? My suggestion don't even waste your time going there.

We were told one price then when our kids met the dog and we decided we were told $100 more! The website, FB page and the paperwork we were given all day the original price we agreed upon. When I called the director she didn’t care but acted warned I was calling and tried to say “supply and demand” because it was a puppy. This puppy would have been the same price with papers as we were bullied into. -beware-

We were looking for a furbaby that would be a playmate for our older husky. Not only is Della (Dayle) a great playmate, she has brought laughter and life into our lives!!She made herself right at home and even knows where we keep the treats!! ?Thanks so much for letting us adopt Della. She is SO SWEET!

The people were very friendly and the animals seemed well cared for. The cat i adopted is a sweet girl. I'd adopt from here again, but hopefully won't have to for some tome!

Staff was very polite, a bit unorganized. It took a lot of time for them to find the paperwork for the kitten I adopted. However, they didn't tell you about any known illnesses prior to meeting them or asking about them. One had ear mites I believe, another fleas. My cat could have caught some stuff from me had I been lazy and not gotten hand sanitizer between the kitties I met.However, I know they're doing the best they can. My kitten is very sweet, and I'm glad I went to the shelter to get him!

Sweetest place ever! I have absolutely no idea what some of these people are saying on these reviews! The animals in there are healthy, sweet, and need our help. The staff was very helpful and anyone could see that they care about the creatures in their care. Yes!? ????⬛? I do recommend this facility!

Customer service was absolutely awful. Not sure what her name was but I overheard what sounded like Taylor when her coworker said something to her. Taylor was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in quite a while. She was condescending and rude. I dont know if she has some outside of work issues going on, but she probably wouldn't be someone I'd like to be the face of my company if I owned a business.

This is a wonderful shelter. The animals are always well taken care of. Was so sad to see that there were 3 pitbulls in there today that came from a neglect case. I just wanted to cry when I saw the pain and sadness in their eyes. So glad they were rescued and I hope they all find their forever homes. They deserve a great life!!! I try to visit this shelter at least once a month. Love spending time with all the beautiful animals!!
