Casey's in Gibbon, Nebraska, is a store with good, friendly, and helpful employees, creating a good atmosphere. Many customers find it a nice store with a friendly atmosphere. It offers the cheapest diesel fuel around and products like brisket pizza that are called excellent and SO GOOD. However, the business faces significant consistency issues. The store sometimes closes early, before its posted midnight closing time, leaving customers unable to buy other products. Pizza is often not available in the warmer, especially around noontime and 5:00 PM, and can sometimes be doughy or not completely cooked. Other food items, like tasteless pork fritters in undersized buns, are criticized, and there is a desire for the return of barbecue pork sandwiches. Operational problems are frequent. The ice cream machine is often broken or unavailable. Iced tea is regularly out or only partially available, and the large coffee cups have a leaking problem that gets on clothing and vehicles. The donut case with big doors is difficult to negotiate, and the sticky items become a messy problem. Some customers feel the rewards are not much of a benefit. While employees are generally praised for being friendly and helpful, there is a request for them to empathize more with customers, be courteous, and understand that customers work hard for their money. The experience suggests that while the people and some food items are very good, operational and consistency issues are a persistent challenge.
