Went for a family reunion this summer. This place was pretty gross as a whole. The rooms were really humid, so the linens were damp and the smell of mildew was everywhere. After my kids swam in the pool, I hung their suits in our room to dry and the next day they were still wet.
The piano in our meeting room was terribly out of tune. The gym was a complete mess with equipment strewn everywhere. The foosball table had broken figurines. After 20 minutes, my kids said they wanted to get out of the pool because it "smelled weird." Meals are served for exactly 45 minutes, and they're not supposed to give you seconds on anything, which is wild considering how expensive meals are there. The furniture, including beds, is really old. The shower curtains had mold on them. The rooms feels like you're at camp, but it's set up like a hotel. Also, the room next to us had a sign on the door warning us to be quiet because someone apparently runs a massage studio out of that room. We were there on the weekend and didn't see anyone in there, but that would really annoy me if I had rented a room with my under-10 kids and we had to keep it down so someone could run a business out of the room next to mine.
I've been to the Leadership Center 5 or 6 times throughout my life for family reunions, and this time will probably be the last unless it gets a serious overhaul.
But honestly that's probably not true, because there are not many places like the Leadership Center, where you can book meeting rooms and hotel rooms and bring your own food and do whatever you want. Most hotels/conference centers require you to buy their super-overpriced food (even for snacks in your meeting room) and have strict noise regulations. TLC is nice and spread out so you don't really overlap with other groups, outside of meal times. Also, the people who work there are really helpful. The place just needs some major renovations.

Very subpar room, no hangers, no irons, double beds, we were supposed to have handicap accessible room, and there’s no handicap accessible room

What a hidden gem. This space is perfectly suited for meetings with nicely suited rooms, comfortable surroundings and ease in getting places. The food was out of this world, locally sourced and delicately prepared so that each menu item was fantastic. The support staff is excellent to work with, Chef John and Executive Director, Maile, made our event there successful. They heard our needs, responded effectively and made sure everyone enjoyed their time at the Leadership Center. Thank you for your professionalism and respect.

Spent 6 nights there for art workshop. Service was excellent, food outstanding and on time. Really enjoyed the entire experience. The grounds are well maintained and the rooms are quite. Had great night sleeps. Massage therapist on site which was utilized. Was much more than what I had expected. Rates reasonable. Well worth the money

Though the reviews here might tell the story, you really should experience The Leadership Center for yourself. Our family recently spent an overnight there and Maile and the staff are always so accommodating and this experience was more of the same. A VERY clean campus and rooms, willingness to work with us on reservations for whatever our needs were. They just go WAY above and beyond. Aurora is so blessed to have The Leadership Center as part of their community and for the team there running the campus. GREAT JOB and THANK YOU!

I love The Leadership Center. The campus is peaceful. There is a pond you can fish in and some kayaks and canoes. They have a fitness center and a gym. Tyler host art retreats at which you only have to worry about making art. The food is consistently excellent. The pool is nice, but Im not sure if the hit tub works. There is a dry sauna, which is all that really matters to me.Aurora is a pleasant town with a square at the center. You'll find anything they don't already have at the front desk there. It's all very Kinkadian. It's a great place for a corporate event, which is why I was there. Wifi was good and worked everywhere but in the dry sauna. C'est la vie, I guess. We went at the end of October and the autumnal vibes suited the place.Go see it!

We had our Doxology retreat for our church here. The food was excellent and it was good to get away from technology. I was glad there was no TV. Instead there was fishing, horse shoes, campfires, paddleboarding, learning, hiking, pool, and gym.
