Super cool, throwback property. They are up front about letting you know there are no elevators. It did not bother us one bit. The breakfasts were great. The lobby sends you back to another time. It is at the base of Big Mountain, or Whitefish as its called now. You can pretty much ski--in and ski-out and enjoy the mountain resort with ease.

I had a great stay at the Kandahar Lodge. It's an older hotel on the Whitefish mountian. Our room was large with two queen beds. It had two chests with drawers, a desk, a small frig, and a desk with a chair. It also had two easy chairs over by the window. The room was clean and had a standard bathroom with a tub shower combo. I used the oversized outdoor hottub. They also had a nice workout room. The lobby was great with a fire in the fireplace all day long. After ski, they offered hot chocolate, coffee, and a cookie or popcorn. The contential breakfast had a good variety of goods to choose from. A short walk across the street to start your ski day. Ski up beside the lodge at the end of the day. The lodge is plier and without an elevator. The lobby fire and large rooms more than made up, in my opinion.Nearby activities: Whitefish Mountain is a great ski destination. They have a lot of tertory to explore. When it's clear, you have a view of the mountains in Glacier Park from the top of lift 1 or 4.

Kandahar Lodge is a great on-mountain location at Whitefish Mountain Resort. Cozy lodge, wood-burning fireplace, great continental breakfast, friendly staff.....Food & drinks: Cafe Kandahar and the Snug Bar are currently closed but a new owner is possibly coming on board spring of 2024.

Great location, fantastic staff (Max checked us in and was great, and the afternoon young man was also extremely friendly and resourceful) but HORRIBLE night. We stayed one night Saturday 27th in room 205.It is impossible to sleep. It sounded like whoever was upstairs was going to fall through the ceiling. The noise was unbearable all night. They were not partying or anything, but just existing but the random thuds, crack and squick was so intense. The very nice night front desk lady she found me some ear plugs, not.much else she could do, but that was not enough. We came here to be on the Mountain for my partner's birthday and be first chair on the Sunday. We were extremely tired and the all the coffee in the world didn't fix it. I would say avoid 2nd floor as much as you can, unless you can sleep through an earthquake, then you should be fine. The breakfast was pretty nice and the outdoor hot tub was great to enjoy after riding all day Saturday. For the price, the rooms are a little outdated but main problem is you can't sleep!I doubt we will ever come back after this pretty disappointing experience.Rooms: Room 205 was Extremely noisy. We barely slept. Microwave and mini fridge in the room.Nearby activities: Ski-in via Hailey's run / takes a little walk for ski outThey also offer a shuttle.Food & drinks: No restaurants or bar at the hotel. But 10 min walk to the "village"

My family has been staying at WMR for years and after having some troubles booking with them this year we decided to check out Kandahar and I’m so glad we did! Not only was the room nicer and bigger than any room we’ve stayed at with WMR, but it was a very reasonable price and included a fantastic breakfast! Thank you so much for the great stay!

Cozy, family feel. We were comfortable in the rooms, the lodge was warm and inviting, with a large room with a fireplace in the lobby. Lots of people playing games and enjoying time together. The staff was super friendly and always helpful if needed.

We had an exceptional stay at the hotel. The rooms were immaculate and spacious, which made our stay even more comfortable. The lobby with the wood fireplace was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. The staff was extremely helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. The highlight of our stay was the outdoor hot tub, which was an amazing experience. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful stay and we plan to return in the future.
