First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park is an awesome and very interesting state park and museum. It covers the most basic need of the American Indians and tells the story of where Native Americans caused the bison to stampede and run off the cliff. The visitor center is very well done, awesome, and the storytelling is top notch, with excellent and well-done displays. The park does a great job of preserving native culture, honoring the tribes, and providing well-detailed accounts of area tribes. It is an informative and attractive site, compact and well-organized, with a great gift shop. The hike to the top is about 2.6 miles on a well-marked trail with amazing and great views. The park is well taken care of. While there is a lot of reading, its history is something every American should be aware of and learn about. It is an amazing place to reflect and learn about the first peoples of North America. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, it is a great place and well worth a visit.
Loved seeing where the native Americans caused the. bison to stampede and run off the cliff. They actually used all of the buffalo to meet their survival needs including food, clothing and a living space. Very interesting.
