We adopted our 10 month old puppy a week ago from TRACS in Thompson Falls MT. The owner (an animal angel) met us in Sandpoint to pick up our puppy. The owner and staff do an amazing job giving these animals the best experience ever, before going to their permanent homes.

I’ve adopted 2 mixed terrier dogs from you over the last four years, they have both settled in very well and have become my fur baby companions

My experience with this animal care shelter. Is there very caring and do their best to find Animals their forever home? I adopted my labradoodle there 3 weeks ago.

My roommate and I found a dog online that we wanted to try and adopt. We drove a few hours to go see them. I also have dogs and the shelter insisted we bring them with us to make sure they get along. The breed that she was listed as was clearly wrong but at least she was the right size. She has some behavioral issues as well that were not mentioned. We adopted her that day and took her home to find out that she had kennel cough. Both of my dogs then got kennel cough. We called them and they said they knew that most of the dogs there have kennel cough. So we had to spend a lot of money just trying to get them all treatment. The facility wasn't great. The staff were nice but I wouldn't ever adopt there again.

Such a great rescue! Lots of volunteers! They work with a volunteer pilot organization to transport rescues from other states to their facility. Very professional. Clean facility. Well cared for rescues. We adopted from them and couldn't be any happier!

Saving animals from euthanasia! Staff were super responsive and working their tails off. I should have asked what supplies they needed from Missoula before I drove over....

I feel so lucky to have found my Chihuahua puppy at TRACS. Smooth adoption process. They care such for the animals. Great group of people working there. I highly recommend.

We got our new little 4 legged darling Mona from them on Sunday. I was a long drive but Mona was well worth it. She's a bit nervous and shy, but is getting along well with her new sisters.I would definitely use this organization again. The do good work.

The lady I encountered when I first entered the building was very helpful and kind. She stated that she was going to call the manager because there was a by appointment only, that I did not know about. The manager entered the room very forcefully walked past sat down at the computer and asked me what dog I was interested in. My reply was and let me tell you why my reply was that way but my reply was that I was there to look for a dog to adopt and that I didn't know exactly what one. And my reason is is that I guess what I'm looking for a lifelong companion I'm not looking to see if they fit or match the color of my shoes my wife's handbags or any other reason. I don't know why a adoption center would limit your choices to dogs that you've only seen a picture of. And if you choose to adopt a dog my question is then do you fill out the application and then only get to meet that dog what if you don't like that dog are you then having to fill out another application. In closing I'd like to say I got a very bad vibe from this establishment.

They were willing to travel to meet us, so that was very kind and considerate of them! We adopted a puppy born within the shelter, and although he is a SWEETHEART, we were told that he'd been treated for his kennel cough and that the cough he had was just residual and that he'd been on antibiotics. However, we took him to the vet and not only did he still have kennel cough, but also pyoderma from unsanitary conditions. The people we spoke with were very kind, but just be aware that there may be some health issues with the dogs adopted out and be ready to drop some money for medicine immediately.

I know this is a tough situation for all concerned. I was given faulty information, and drove 5 hours on one day ro pick up the dog. She wasn't as advertised when I took her home overnight. Sometimes behavior cannot be predicted, but she definitely wasn't the breed they told me, and she had a significant prey drive, which was also misrepresented. I had to bring her back the next day, another 5 hour round trip. Was tough on the dog and on my family. They seem to have better luck/outcomes (based on these reviews) when dealing with smaller dogs...?

I really don’t want to bash the team that is doing such awesome work, but I want other people to have an idea before they get too invested. I was interested in a dog that I was told was “3 years old; a delight; and would be a great fit in our home”. So we made the 2 hour drive with our toddler to meet the dog. When we got there, we knew right away she wasn’t what we were lead to believe. The woman I had been in contact with about meeting her had never even met this dog. She was also much younger and WAY more energetic than we were told. The employees were nice and introduced us to a few more dogs while we were there, but none of them fit the list of what we were looking for. Now we are out a non refundable $150 for a dog that wasn’t even the correct description. Hopefully the shelter can put it to good use, seeing as how we found a dog somewhere else and won’t be using TRACS. Again, the people we talked with were all very nice, but it was a huge disappointment and overwhelming experience.
