I am extremely disappointed in Allard Auctions, where I have bought and sold items in the past. Steve Allard has failed to live up to his promises, and payments to me were not only delayed but the check bounced. Some of my items were listed in the sale in Phoenix and I have not received word on those. Because of the cancelled check I had bank charges and Steve has not even replied to my calls and emails.

I have dealt with auctions for over 40 years and never had a more unpleasant experience that I recently had with Allard. Phone calls not returned, emails not returned, payment given but not posted, promised return call - never happened, told me they gave information to shipper - never did. Finally, unaware where the lots are that I purchased.

I have done business with Allard Auctions a few times over the past few years selling my Native American photography/artwork. I understand their policies which include payment 35 days after a major auction. I have had to call every time to receive my payment. They have never paid me on time. Last year in Aug of 2015 I sent a rare catalog to them among other items to be auctioned. It did not sell so they put it back in inventory. I have politely called and asked them no less than 5 times (speaking with everyone who worked there including Steve Allard the owner) to send my catalog back and I will sell it myself online. It is now Jan of 2016 and I still do not have it. Steve personally told me when I last spoke to him that this is not on his priority list. Marine his assistant said that someone will need to go look for it however this never happens. She told me this 2-3 times now. They make me feel uncomfortable having to call for my own property and or payment. I am a business owner myself and find this sort of business practice appalling. They sold over 1000.00 worth of photographs in November of 2015 of mine. The buyer did not pay so once again I am asking repeatedly over the last month or so for my items back. Now they still have my catalog from last year as well as my photographs, As of today (Feb 2, 2017) I have again received no communication from them, no items shipped back and no tracking number which i asked for twice in the past week. The last auction was over 3 months ago and I had no idea the buyer didn't pay. I was patiently waiting for payment and called 3 times. Left messages and emails and never received any sort of communication back. Finally about a week ago Steve emailed me to let me know the buyer didn't pay. That was the last I heard from him or his organization. This seems to be there mode of operating. As of today they are holding thousands of dollars of my property and will not ship it back or communicate with me. I am glad this was the last time I was going to do business with them. Sellers beware. I am guessing if I have had problems constantly with them that others have as well.I'm patiently waiting Steve Allard…….. Please send my items back

Bidders beware! Our organization participated in Allard Auction's August 13th Sale and had a very unpleasant experience with this business. The auctioneer was so disrespectful and unethical, we unfortunately had to consider our purchase as undeliverable. After the auction, Allard's suddenly advised there was now only one option to ship our purchase who was found fraudulent by grossly inflating shipping costs. Live Auctioneers, who facilitated the bid, currently has Allard Auctions under investigation in connection with this so called "independent" shipper as our report was not the only one received. When brought to their attention, Steve Allard (owner) suspiciously refused to look into the matter and literally threatened us if we did not pay the outrageous shipping - very professional. Should you ever consider doing business with this disreputable company, I would demand a shipping quote be provided in writing before placing a bid. Again, beware and bid at your own risk.

I had some very good experiences dealing with Allard Auctions in the past, for example winning a prized Jimmie Kewanwytewa Hemis Kachina that was in perfect condition, signed, from the 1940s. But over the last couple of years I noticed that they began to sell fakes--some were "Navajo Kachinas" being sold as Hopi, some were fake antique kachinas passed off as genuine. I drew their attention to this and I know my stuff having collected kachinas for over 45 years, but my inquiry and concern never met an answer. This alarms me and has made me decide to steer clear of them until they can get their act together again.

Allard is well into many decades of professional auctions, American Indian Art specialists. The Allards know their stuff, more than many advisors, appraisers and art dealers, and you can trust what they advise. Five Stars all the way!
