Nate from Hertz Missoula is one of the best! The man is very helpful and attentive. He helped us sort through our car rental issues right away. Thank you, Nate!!!

Writing this review because all of the negative reviews had me very apprehensive about renting with them. We had no issues at all, and our total cost was less than we were originally estimated. We received our car very quickly, and we were able to drop it back off before hours to catch an early flight!

They make it super convenient and easy to rent and return cars here at the airport. I was out of there in like ten minutes. Park it, tell them your name, boom and done.?The entrance is on the opposite side of where you park your car to return it. It's kind of a new building and it needs more signs, but I'm sure they are working on it.

Please go somewhere else. These people lie and will scam your insurance for damage never incurred. Nobody to check you in at the desk. That's how they get you. If you DO go with this miserable company, take a lot of pictures and have a witness. I did. Beware of this rental car company's perfected scam.

I had a car accident January 2 and my car was unusuable. I got an insurance rental while figuring out what to do. The people at the desk were rude and confused. I called to get rental set and that was the only good interaction. I use the car and it was a good car with heated steering wheel (which was super cool). The parking sensor wouldn't stop going off when going backwards the ENTIRE rental. When I returned the car, I asked them about it. The woman who accepted the return said the sensor was probably dirty. I reported a chip in the windshield the size of a sliver and went on my way. A few months later, I am charged $400 for a repair on the windshield. Whatever, I want this to go away so I can move on from my car being totaled and the horrible rental experience. Now we are in October. 8 months later. I get a repair bill for $1600. For this rental that I had 8 MONTHS AGO. With a repair dated May 9 that took them 4.5 days to do. 4, almost 5, months after I returned the car. I have video of the car when I picked it up and pictures when I returned it with NO DAMAGE.Do not rent from them. Walk if you have no other choice.

If I could give them negative stars I would. I am traveling from another state and my car was involved in an accident. Insurance made a reservation for me, and I dropped my car off at the body shop. During the accident my wallet was thrown from the vehicle. We found my drivers license and my American Express card but my debit card for my bank account was gone. My bank expressed mailed me a temporary debit card until a new one can be issued.I take an Uber to the airport Hertz to get the car. I’m checking in and they say “We don’t accept temporary debit cards” (for the $75 deposit). Ok fine, I hand them my Amex. “We don’t accept American Express cards because the processing fees are too high”. I explained that the website accepts Amex. The portly round woman working tells me she’s the franchise owner and she doesn’t accept Amex.Normally I would just go to another rental counter but I had already tried three others and they are booked for weeks. I’m stranded in a city 900 miles from home with no car. I can rent one once my permanent debit card arrives. Their next reservation is in 22 days.STAY AWAY FROM THIS BACKWOODS, LOW BUDGET, CLEARLY MISMANAGED PLACE.I have heard horror stories about Hertz and this is my first time “attempting” to rent from them, and it will be the last. No wonder this place only has 2.5 stars. STAY AWAY!

The most disgusting rental car I’ve ever been in. It REEKED of cigarette smoke. Like someone had just chain smoked 12 packs in there before we got in. There were fried chicken pieces all over the car. Trash all over the car. It was most definitely not cleaned before we got it, whatsoever. For a place that charges some of the highest prices in rental cars, I expect WAY more.

Overall we had a smooth in-terminal pickup/drop-off experience, and our SUV drove nicely, however, it appears that they don't clean their vehicles on a daily basis because ours was filthy inside when we got in. The floor mats and cup holders had dirt and crumbs on them. A little more attention to cleaning would be nice especially when you're renting a premium or higher class of vehicle like we did

From the very beginning we were lied to about the prices about the taxes about the fuel replacement. We will never use this company again. They were only supposed to charge my card$300 and they charge over 500. And then tell me they release my funds at midnight. It is now 9:30 in the morning in my bank says they have not released it still and then I called the manager and she pushes me off and will not give me any corporate numbers or any way of actually contacting anyone to resolve this.

Picked up a 10-day rental from Missoula and on day four a deer jumped in front of our car -thankfully we were all fine but the car was destroyed. We were on our way to Glacier NP and several hours away from Missoula, we had no idea how we were going to manage the situation. Luckily the crew in Missoula went above and beyond! They went to considerable trouble to secure a replacement vehicle for us in the Great Falls location, despite it being late afternoon on a busy Sunday. Everyone at Hertz was patient and professional, and I can't thank them enough for their assistance during a very stressful time.

The car they gave me smelled like smoke and it broke down after one use and had to be towed. After spending a total of ten hours navigating their call centers, I was told that according to their policy, they could not give me a refund because the customer is liable for the first five days regardless of the state of the vehicle.I can’t believe they are still in business. To be clear, I really can’t believe they are still in business.

Once again, a rental car agency can take a reservation but can't deliver the car. I know it has become cliché but it is an amazingly frustrating joke that these rental car agencies will take a reservation and not deliver a car. They've got you by the nuts and there's nothing you can do about it. They wouldn't even offer a discount on the smaller car we had to settle for...so we had ask, and then they argued with us over it. Apparently, the car we rented..."one is getting an oil change, one is getting the windshield fixed, and another customer kept their rental and hadn't turned it in yet". Nate was dismissive and uncooperative with a bit of an attitude, like "well, you KNOW we have a car shortage, so I can't do anything to help you". Rental car agencies are the beginning of the end of customer service; where is Nordstrom's training when we need it?

WARNING!!! I reserved a car almost 4 months in advance of a family vacation and saw that they accepted debit cards. When I arrived with my family, we were told that we could not have our car without a credit card and they would not accept my debit. I called and pleaded with the Thrifty Corp. office who understood and said they would contact this location in Missoula and have them accept and in-laws credit card over the phone because I do not do credit cards. They then called and the franchise owner would not allow this, leaving us without a car for our 2 week vacation we planned. DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCATION. WARNING They are a rogue franchise who does not comply with their own corp. offices.
