? I referred my disabled veteran son to this company, since I am on the East Coast and unable to help him myself. My son calls, tells the guy when he needs to be out of his current apartment and the guy says "I have nothing available" and hangs up on him. How professional is that? Guess you did not want our business.

My husband and I specifically hired Garden City Movers to move our extremely heavy piano, and we made that clear from our call to them. We even discussed how our fee would increase to accommodate for the heavier item. Everything was agreed upon prior to moving day. When the day came, they sent two men, where apparently they need four to move the piano. However they were able to get it down the stairs into our garage with only two people, which was markedly more difficult than pushing it into the UHAUL.My husband called them and was told “we’ll get back to you in an hour” only to have no response, even after two more calls and two more texts asking that they come complete the job. After being ignored on my husband’s number, We called two days later to ask if they could send any help for even 15 minutes, but were told they were booked through 8 PM and refused to compromise or complete the job we hired them specifically to do.Also their use of ratchet straps was questionable at best, and led to a few pieces of furniture suffering minor to moderate damage (broken leg on a chest). This was noted by professional movers helping us unpack. Overall, while these folks may be friendly on the phone and in person, they also have no problem not completing the job they were hired specifically to do. Would have been 5 star but for this, even overlooking the slightly damaged goods.

Dan and Adam were SO easy to work with. Super kind, gentle with our delicate antiques, cautious of our beloved houseplants, and so lovely to us through the whole process. Our belongings arrived at their destination intact and on time, and their pricing was approximately one third of what I was quoted by a major franchise for the exact same move. My grandparents absolutely adored them, and I really just do not have enough nice things to say about them! Don’t hesitate to hire them—I sure won’t next time I need help!

Grateful for the help moving, but the two gentlemen were over 2 hours late. They were transparent with me and let me know they were going to get lunch, but still a bummer.. Also got a couple chips on the door frame from moving our couch in. I appreciate small businesses though so I still tipped.

These guys are great! They were super easy to work with - laid back, yet completely professional. And they didn't flinch at moving some very large and unwieldy items. Despite the fact that Dan got some annoying songs stuck in my head (Santa Baby and the Mario Theme), I would hire them again without hesitation. Highly recommended!

I recently hired Garden City Movers to help me move out my apartment. They were efficient, careful with my furniture, and easy to communicate with. The guys were friendly, too. I also appreciated the flexibility of paying by the hour. I would definitely use them again.
