I have been using Blue Mountain Vet for about nine years. I have used them for livestock and I have used them for our Dogs. I will never use them again. Let me explain why. My son gave me a Dog about two years ago. The Dog and I have been together everyday since. I have some very serious health issues and the Dog is my companion. He is very intelligent, he is very friendly, and very sensitive. He is more than a Dog to me, he is my third leg, my friend and buddy. He is well trained, but is very spoiled some times, but he's a very good boy. I took him to BMV for a semi minor issue, that I was uncomfortable treating myself, plus he might need some medications. They said to bring him in after 8:30AM, so we were there at about that time. They were apparently busy and could not even look at him right away, so asked us to leave him there. I said how about we just book an appointment. The person working the desk said, "yeah, in three weeks". I reluctantly left the Dog there. After we got home we questioned our decision of leaving him there, so we called and they told my wife that he was doing fine, that he was calm and quite. I knew then that something was wrong, because that does not sound like my Dog, who is usually very active and playful. I fretted that he was frightened and scared, but again waited. We waited for a call from them, for an assessment, anything, but no call came. Again we called. This time around 3:30pm. They explained that they hadn't looked at him yet, and wanted us to leave him overnight. We knew then that we had to go get our Dog. We drove to BMV and asked for our Dog back. The staff member explained to my wife that we would need to drive around to the other side of the building where the kennel was and get him out of the kennel ourselves, they explained that he didn't like anyone there. My wife went through the chain link gate and up to the kennel room door. Nobody came. We waited and waited and still nobody came to open the door to the kennel. Finally she had to go back into the reception area, and ask someone if they were going to open the kennel door. They finally did, and my wife walked over to the small cage they had our large Dog in. He wouldn't get up, he was frightened, curled up and wouldn't move. He wouldn't get up until she said I (Daddy) was waiting. I was waiting in the vehicle with the window down. I got out and whistled and he finally ran out of the kennel area. He didn't even acknowledge me right away. His tail was tucked and he was frantic to just get away. I convinced him to get in the SUV and we all left. Altogether he was in that cage eight hours. IMHO there is not enough lighting, it's concrete flooring, and small. In that amount of time, they did not even look at him. They apparently don't have a triage system. I think that the good service we used to receive there is gone now. We are just one of their many customers and our Dog is just another animal that they treated like livestock. I really would have thought this was a fluke, but it isn't. It happened once before when we had a sick goat. They never looked at the Goat until the next day too. They had us leave it overnight, so it basically tells me that they treated our loved pets like livestock. To be honest I wouldn't even treat our livestock like that.

Dr. Ferguson is my go to vet and his office staff is great! He has cared for my two labradoodles and one litter of Labradoodles.

Very dirty office. What looked like blood or some other fluid on the table. It smelt and looked like the floors/etc. hadn't been cleaned in some time. Office was great at getting us rescheduled. Gal at the desk was very friendly and for the short time we actually saw the dr...he seemed nice. However, we were sent to a dirty room where we waited over 30 minutes before the vet came in. The appointment was for our foster to get shots, he came in and almost instantly gave the vaccines. There wasn't any inquiry on how he's doing, no temp taken, etc. I had mentioned he came to us with a double ear infection and I wasn't sure how they were healing....doctor barley looked in his ears and said 'looks fine to me.' That was the extent of our visit. Currently taking him to our personal vet to have more proper care as the smell & constant head shaking would suggest that his ears are not 'fine.' {{{UPDATE: He in fact has a really bad double ear infection which was confirmed instantly by our personal vet. Very disappointed.}}} This could be from a miscommunication from the rescue to the vet, but I was very disappointed in the quickness of the interaction and the cleanliness of the office.

Fantastic vets! My 4 horses & my dog go to this clinic. They are down to earth & SO realistic. They won't charge you for things you don't need and come from a no none sense approach to treatment. I highly recommend them!

We were traveling through when our dog developed a rash and limp. They saw her right away on a Saturday. The vet was great and we quickly on our way again. He was straight forward and knowledgeable. We would definitely go see him again if we lived nearby.

Dr. Pruyn is absolutely the best. I drive from the Bitterroot to see him. I was told if the vets in the valley dont know what is wrong this is the place to go. First time also happened to be an emergency on Saturday. He knew right away what was wrong. (A tumor not an ear infection) I have gone to him for many years and trust him completely. His prices are reasonable, I dont even ask anymore. As for not taking new patients in the above review, I sent my friend to him just this week 8/7/18!!

Dr Richardson was very patient with both my horses and I really appreciated the way he explained everything so that I knew exactly what to do and what to look for. My mare was pretty green and nervous and he was really good with her. I was reccommended to him by about 5 people and I am glad I went with him,I would go nowhere else.
