I think this place is pretty cool but today I had a super bad customer service experience. Yesterday I purchased an inflatable paddle board. The paddle was broken when we opened the box. We had already inflated the paddle board. I was hoping to just return the paddle and get a new paddle, but they insist that I go pack up the paddle board and return the whole package! Why? Why can't they just remove a paddle from a box in the store and treat that box as the "return." I'm sure there are other ways to address this as well. Their inability to take care of the customer and their desire to seriously inconvenience their customer is a head scratcher.

I love this store. It has everything you can find in a Cabelas without all the big corporate fluff. There are only 2 locations. Whitefish and Kalispell. Save yourself the resort tax if you're buying anything big and go to their bigger and better Kalispell store. It seems that the Whitefish store caters to the political side of the city, and they no longer sell much hunting gear. If anything. The Kalispell store is also a big supporter of the Wildland Firefighter Foundation by handling all their FFL transfers for raffles.

If you're a first time gun buyer, you may want to go to a smaller shop. The gun sales guys came across as really only wanting to service gun owners who know everything about the gun already. Each time I came, I would spend a long, long time standing right in front of the counter before anyone would even ask if they could help me. They are more likely to just point you in a direction and rattle off terms than take you and explain anything.

We had a reservation for bike rentals. We called the morning of our rental to confirm that the bikes were available and ready for us. They did not know if they would have bikes available for us even though we had a reservation, but after some discussion and checking, were able to confirm that our bikes were available. When we showed up an hour later, the bikes were not ready for us. They were still confused on which bikes we were even going to use. One had a flat tire. Eventually everything got sorted out and we are on our way. Hoping the ride goes smoothly from here.
