I’m giving 4 stars simply for the massive selection of this store. The checkout line is typically a longer wait due to lack of staff in the front.

I stop by salvation army in Kalispell often on my way home. Tonight was no exception. As I was shopping a really nice young lady who I see often came and told me I had 15 minutes left. I picked up some outfits for my Grandson and was making a quick run through kitchen area. We donate alot of money to salvation army...until today. This older lady came and told me they decided to close early. At this point it was 5:50. She told me she had never seen me in there before so doubted that i was a regular. Weather was nice and when i asked why closing early she said because we can. ...and in my industry if a customer is shopping .you give them til closing. She said she was getting manager. I said that wasn't needed and that I would check out. He came up anyways and when I told him it wasn't necessary he was pushy. He would not let me explain. And refused to let me purchase my items. He told me if I didn't shut up he would kick me out. I went to the door where he and this old lady followed. He knocked my phone and my wallet out of my hand. I got in my vehicle and noticed he had cracked my screen. asked if I could explain and he said not that he will always have her back. He kept calling her honey and sweetheart. Very weird. At this point I just wanted to get my overpriced used clothes and get home. I started recording entire conversation. He then denied me my purchase and said he would call the cops. I did get upset at the end and literally was begging to let me get these items. I will never give another dime . My bonus every year has gone to the local salvation army. Good thing this happened before my bonus arrives. He should pay for my broken phone and he should not have a job there. Edit. I received a phone call from district manager. No offer to make anything right. I told him I had entire conversation recorded. Didn't want to listen to it. Will not shop there again or give money donations. Super bad management.

I like this place but a guy came up to me and said "sorry but I need you to leave my store" I was barely in there 5 minutes, I didn't do anything, i was looking around. No one else was told to leave, I don't want to sound like a Karen but it was extremely disrespectful i didn't say anything just left but I didn't get an explanation, if I would've been told why then I wouldn't have had an issue but this was disrespectful and completely ruined my entire mood and day. (I used to go there on a regular basis)

Store marks up certain name brand items too high. Fitting rooms are closed but offer returns for store credit. Not great for someone passing through.

Very underwhelming experience, racks are all at least half empty. Not to mention prices are absurd for the few items they do have. However, cashier Suzy was nice. Would recommend goodwill instead.

Dressing rooms still closed. Maybe the store should stay closed on Sundays, since they’re supposed to be a Christian business and instead, pay someone to monitor the dressing rooms. Won’t buy clothes if I can’t try them on first. Sad. Used to be my favorite place to shop.

Dressing rooms appear to be permanently closed. They offer returns within 7 days, but only for store credit.Don't want to waste money on something I don't even know will fit, and don't want to waste time bringing things elsewhere to try on only to not get my money back if they don't work.

Very large thrift store with a lot of stock to choose from. Clothes, a large book selection, housewares, sporting goods, shoes, movies, and everything is organized. It could be a lot worse. Small electronics section too. Thrift shoppers should come here first before any other place in town.

… I make it to Salvation Army Thrift Store BEFORE 6 pm, SUPPOSED TO BE closing hours! I make it to the store at 5:55 pm but the parking lot is completely empty (gives me the feeling they closed well before 6 pm!) and the doors are locked. I look at my phone and it says 5:56 pm and I then call the store, which registers at 5:57 pm (verified with Verizon phone logs and my phone) and I get the answering system, no one answers. I then call back again at 6 pm and still no answer. This issue lacks integrity all around and someone should be punished and held accountable for this because it was very wrong. If you state your hours are until 6 pm then you should be honoring those hours! (That was the main point but to fully understand the whole complaint and reasoning, that is explained next):On March 14, 2023 I was involved with a very important sewing project and my sewing machine became unfunctional around 5 p.m. I quickly started contacting thrift shops to inquire if they had any used sewing machines and explained I couldn't afford the gas for the long drive if they did not have any and being under a short time limit I also needed to narrow down which direction I would go first. Keep in mind what time of day this is as well. I call the Kalispell Salvation Army thrift store at 5:21 pm and I asked please can someone tell me if they have any sewing machines and well I got some idiot who says if they have any they would be ...."at some location in the store"....and I immediately thought about Bill Engvall: comedian famous for "here's your sign" joke comments. I reminded the person that I am not in the store but need to know before I make the drive that far and in such a short notice, so she goes and checks and comes back and says they have two. I asked her if she noticed the price and of course she did not. So I hurry up and drive there the quickest I can and I make it BEFORE 6 pm, SUPPOSED TO BE closing hours! I make it to the store at 5:55 pm but the parking lot is completely empty (gives me the feeling they closed well before 6 pm!) and the doors are locked. If the store was closing early you might think that person on the phone would have told me that ahead of time????? I live in Columbia Falls Montana which is over 21 miles (45 minutes for me) away from the Salvation Army in Kalispell Mt. This issue lacks integrity all around and someone should be punished and held accountable for this because it was very wrong. If you state your hours are until 6 pm then you should be honoring those hours!

The store is large so there is plenty of room to move around. Each department is clearly marked and the staff is friendly.

Sadly, the dressing rooms at the store have been closed for a year. It’s really inconvenient to go there to try and buy clothes because you have to take everything home to try them on, and then, if something doesn’t fit, you have to bring it back and you can only get store credit. Kind of like a restaurant that serves food but won’t give you silverwear to eat it. I love the Salvation Army’s mission, but when you’re in retail, you have to provide dressing rooms.

Place was great. Prices were great. Employees were great. Then it was sold and now it is the worst ever. Prices reflect new owner. Just don’t go.
