This is a great Subaru dealership. It is located directly across from their service center and has a beautiful open lobby with a receptionist who greets you right away. Crystal from sales is by far one of the best sales people I’ve ever met, she is thorough & easy to work with. The rest of the finance as well as service team also exceeded my expectations . Purchasing a new car is a big deal and this dealership helps the process flow seamlessly, and I asked multiple questions. I have purchased 2 cars through this dealership and both times it was a smooth transition. I highly recommend buying a car from here, as their rates are in line as well as the quality of their vehicles and customer service. You won’t be disappointed buying a vehicle here.

Tyler was very helpful in getting me the car that I wanted. He was very straightforward and honest and wasn’t being pushy trying to get me to buy the car. I showed up to take a look at the WRX’s they had in stock and ended up seeing an STI there that they had just got in. I got more than a fair price, they also told me that they had just replaced the motor with a brand new one. I was even given a service record which had confirmed there was indeed a new motor installed. I will never go anywhere else when looking for a Subaru. Placer is the best place in Helena to shop for Subaru’s new or used!

Went in to look at trading in our truck on an Outback. Customer service was great was assured they make fair deals with no hassle. They did an appraisal on our truck and conveniently tried to offer us 36,000 for our truck when we let them know that rough trade in booked for 38 they tried to say I was looking at the retail values. They did not know I used to sell cars. When we informed them of that they then said that the prices on their cars on the lot are $1000 less than what they book for so they offer $1000 less on trade in. Which literally means their $1000 discount is redundant. We contacted Lithia Toyota in Missoula and they with no hassle or even seeing our truck made a deal for a new Rav4 and gave us 40,500 for our truck. Thats $4,500 more than Placer. Thank god we knew better than to take what they offered. I would be very weary of trusting these guys with a fair trade in value.

Our head gasket blew on our Outback during a road trip and thankfully it happened down the street from Placer Subaru. We called and they saw us immediately in the AM and diagnosed the problem promptly. The service was exceptional. Andrew took great care of us and was extremely knowledgeable. They not only took the time to repair the vehicle around a holiday and weekend, but the timeline for repair was accurate and they did more than required with little to no extra charge. Our vehicle made the 1000+ mile drive home with no issue. I would trust them with any repair/maintenance to our vehicle and if ever needing service in Helena again I would happily go there.

Well we had an excellent experience at Placer Subaru in Helena recently. We went in looking for an ascent, and test drove a preowned ascent, and it was just what we needed.Tyler helped us in the deal, along with some others there, and they seemed very nice and very honest. I felt comfortable doing business there, and Tyler went out of his way to make sure we got everything we needed, including delivering the car all the way to my house, which was a 25 minute drive away from town.I see the others reviews are good except for some petty negative ones, but I can personally attest that they do things well here and don’t mess around with your wallet like the other brands and their competitors.Not sure why we never considered a Subaru before, but we are certainly glad we did now. Thanks Tyler, and good Job Placer Motors!

They have a policy, that was not disclosed to me when I scheduled or when I dropped my car off, that only if your bill is over $1500 you have to pay a 3.5% credit card processing fee. My bill was $8131.70. Apparently that wasn't enoughmoney so I got to pay another $284.61. I feel taken advantage of. I bought this car from them in 2014. Will never buy a car from them again nor have it serviced there or recommend them to anyone.

DO NOT TAKE A CAR THERE FOR A PRE-OWNED CAR CHECK. Cost me 105.00 only to wait 2.5 hours for them to NOT even look at the car. They just checked off all ok. Told them to drive it to listen for sound in engine, they didn't take it more then 20 feet. I drove in garage and they drove it out. That's it. The noise I heard in engine I was told was aftermarket catalytic converter. Told to take to a place that installs them. That was not the problem. Kept making noise as we drove from Helena to Missoula. Called John the manager of Placer repair shop and he came to our house. Hmmm, wonder why he didn't want me to drive to the shop???? Well guess what???? Turns out the engine was blown. Rods were bad. John told me I needed to be a responsible car owner and check the oil EVERYTIME I GOT GAS. There was no oil in engine. John told me it burned 5 quarts in one drive to town. Five miles away.I trusted this place to be good and truthful. Turns out they lie like the dickens..Dickenson...Even Eric the owner blew me off. Talk to previous employees of the service department and they will tell you they screw customers.Had to put almost $6,000 in this car for a new engine. Car cost $8,000. So I now have a 2009 I paid a total of $14,000. If only they had looked at my engine when I asked for a pre-owned car check this car would not of been bought by me.RUN FROM THIS RIPOFF PLACE....

I had a great experience with Placer Subaru. Ryan was knowledgeable and a prompt communicator throughout the process of reserving a new Forester. There were no high pressure sales tactics and no ridiculous fees. The finance guy Cory was friendly and informative without being pushy. These guys know their products and are a pleasure to work with.

I don't leave many reviews but this one was special. We purchased a used vehicle in July 2022 and were pretty shocked at how bad of an experience it was. This review is mostly related to the sales side of Placer.We went in to purchase a vehicle and were thrown around by a bunch of different people even though the place and lot were pretty much empty. This required going to the dealership 5+ times to actually get clear answers since on the phone we would get so and so would know but is not here. For example, we just wanted to know when we could sign the papers, when the vehicle would be ready, etc. I understand that people can be sick but this was on another level of cluelessness.We figured out which vehicle we wanted to purchase and attempted to start the purchasing process. We were told the vehicle would be ready on a certain date and it kept getting pushed without clear communication. I can't even imagine how frustrating the process would be if we didn't live within 5 minutes of the dealership.When it came to financing, we were told (on a Saturday at 10am) that he would contact their preferred lender (intrepid) and get the rates and give us a call back within the hour. When we heard nothing back by Monday a different person in finance told us that the bank is closed on Saturdays. When we were finally able to pick up the vehicle after it was delayed again, the car was dirty inside and out, and still had sticky residue from the sales poster in the windows which was difficult to remove. Promises that were made during the sales process such as it is under warranty and you get free remote start with starlink until the warranty expires were completely false. There was also no follow up on accessories we requested to have installed (bike rack) but at this point we just wanted the vehicle and to be over the process.To top it all off once we finally signed the papers the woman made several comments like see that was easy, we really take care of our customers! Just because you say that does not make it true.We were literally trying to throw our money at you all and get the vehicle we really wanted and it did not need to be such a horrible process. At least the vehicle was priced well and the service department seems nice.

Placer Subaru was an absolute pleasure to work with. Fair, honest and efficient. Ordered a new Outback from Tyler, it showed up a week sooner than promised and exactly as ordered. Paperwork was easy, too- in and out in less than 30 minutes. This is our 5th new Subaru but our first interaction with Placer Subaru- we will definitely be back!
