This pawnshop is kinda a joke, no care for the community at all. I've tested what I'm about to share numerous times, a few different ways, but if you have something like say a guitar worth 500.00$ they will look up the brand, choose the cheapest one on the list and try to give you a quarter of that price. On video I went too the other shops in town. They all quoted me about the same for my items ( 200.00 being the number this time) then when I went to modern their employees refused to look into the item via model or serial number and actually told me I was waisting their time, that I was cheap and offered me 30.00$... Again this is all on video if you'd like to see look it up on YouTube. We love our Helena community,around here we watch out for one and another... Watch out for these people they will rob you blind, then make you feel bad for it.

I have to be completely honest with my experience with this place it has always been sublime and great but since the owners have changed it has been rediculous especially with the heavy set employee that does not give me a third of the value of my stuff barely one tenth of the value as well as today I caught him in a lie telling me that the product was found on eBay for $800 and it's a $3,000 dollar tool Iooked it up on eBay myself and couldn't find it for less then $1,800 he was trying to give me $300 for a tool worth almost $2,000 on eBay how sick and low is that they have really really just lowered the standard and they should be embarrassed having that employee in the shop everything I bring in there I barely get one tenth of the value and now they are lying about the value on eBay NEVER COMING BACK I'll give it away before selling my tools to the crooks ever again how low they have fallen since the owners changedEveryone saying Tony is this and that is wrong tony has always been amazing and great with me and my husband but since he's not there it's turned into a terrible place and the employee that lied to me and said he could find my tool for $800 should be fired I was asking $500 for well over $5,000 in tools and he said he would only do $300 then went lower wish Tony was still there

Staff is hard working, down to earth and easy to talk to. They do their best to help people when needed and they always try to give fair and accurate information on everything. Can't always give an answer that wants to be heard, but always fair.Businesses can't always please everyone, but the staff at Modern Pawn do what they can to make sure that people can leave happy and with a product they can enjoy. Great local business!!!!!!

I have been apart of Modern Pawn almost my entire life. I have seen about every situation you could possibly see in a lifetime, which isn’t always the most pleasant. The owner and employees at Modern Pawn have always handled each situation honestly and considerably. Modern Pawn is always giving back to the community and supports other businesses which is pretty respectable in my opinion. I highly recommend this establishment.

ditto all the good comments! tony and his crew are the very best! once i had a valuable set of coins in pawn there and they could have defalted me thru my own oversite.instead they called me, gave me an extended grace.thats what i call good honest bussiness!!you wont get that kind of care at any other shop in this town..

Huge waist of time! Three trips from Lincoln for nothing. Very disappointed with the misleading, misinformation craziness.Obviously they don't care about there customers. No $ exchanged just a loss of our time, gas, and being excited for days thinking we were buying something. Never coming back. Wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. They get a 0 in my book!

The best pawn shop in Helena by a mile. The product turns over well (you won't find the same stuff here for years), the pricing is competitive and negotiable (within typical pawn limits), and the staff while a tad blunt are both friendly and honest. This shop seems to understand that it's a pawn shop, not a retail location- and prices items accordingly. The destination pawn shop for Helena.

I have been dealing originally with ERNST. HE UNDERSTOOD AS A WOMAN THAT I WAS IN A SITUATION WHERE I HAD TO PAWN WITH BEING ABLE TO GET A SPECIFIED AMOUNT OF CASH. AT THE TIME, NOBODY KNEW THAT I WAS DOING A CHRISTIAN ACT OF KINDNESS TO HELP OUT MY FELLOW MAN. ERNST WAS GOOD TO ME AND GAVE ME EXACTLY AND ONLY THE AMOUNT OF CASH I NEEDED TO COMPLETE MY "ACT OF KINDNESS TO ANOTHER "CHRISTIAN".I HAD NO PROBLEMS AND AM STILL HAPPY WITH MY SERVICE. ERNST, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER STAFF WERE VERY POLITE TO ME. I WILL GO BACK AGAIN, IF NEEDS BE. HOPEFULLY, I WON'T HAVE TO PAWN ANOTHER THING.I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS.I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.
