Do not work with this bank in any capacity. They are ancient and ineffective with their policies, technology, and customer service. They have done nothing but cost me money and time with their incompetence and out of date business practices. Go to any other bank or credit union. Do not work with this bank unless you like contributing to their oversized and excessive buildings... that only have 1 ATM. First Interstate Bank - the leader in 1980s banking since 2020! Trash bank!

I must say rhat I have banked here for some time. I have experienced highs and lows. The after hours customer service is impossible. They have info that not me nor the bank has! They have continually been no help. Its a shame that I am compelled to write this. Mike is fantastic as are all the people I have interacted with. The after hours support is abysmal. When a week end or away this is unacceptable.

This bank and its employees are very rude and unhelpful. I listened to them belittle my mother because she was not being explained a policy properly. I've never heard a business talk so rudely to its customers. I've heard from other people in the community who bank here, and all but one have been treated badly. People can be very difficult when you work in customer service, but you need to stay professional. I would not recommend using this bank.

We were not from the area but were in town in the process of purchasing a house here. First interstate went above and beyond to help me contact my financial institution and get some funds transfer to pay an inspection fee. They didn't charge me. They gave me no attitude. They treated me like i was already one of their accounts. I DID shop around after they initially helped me. Nearly every other bank i walked into in Helena seemed too busy to be bothered with a potential new account. Fast forward to today... if there was ever ANY issue with my account or any seemingly fraudulent activity they were great about halting it and notifying me. The customer service reps, the loan reps... everyone i have dealt with at this branch has been great.

First interstate bank does not care about their customers. I waited two weeks for a replacement debit card to be snail mailed to my house instead of instant issue like mountain west. They offered to sell me a gift-card to get me by while I waited. Their call center is clearly the lowest bidder sub contractor who does as little as needed to help you. First interstate really sucks. You're better off using your local credit union.
