Great place to stay near Rushmore. Rooms were clean and quiet. Walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants. Only 2 miles from Rushmore entrance. Reasonably priced. The staff was super helpful and recommended a beautiful drive around the area.
Nearby activities: Mount Rushmore and Needles Highway.
Walkability: Restaurants and shops in the same parking lot

Basic as can be hotel with no frills, the room looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 80s and has that old time carpet in it. So so grossed out. You get a small fridge and microwave that’s place on the floor. It’s overall weird. Has a spot overlooking the river that has very limited seating. People are loud so it’s not very peaceful. The only plus was location close to Yellowstone.. but overall this place wasn’t worth the price we paid. I’ll choose anything else next time.

Our absolute favorite motel in Gardiner! Locally and family owned since the 70's when I think they were used for hunters year around. Always clean and friendly staff-perfect location in town, everything is walking distance. Pet friendly, too.

You can’t beat the location of this motel literally not even 5 minutes from the north entrance of Yellowstone !!!!! The price for 2 nights was really good and the wildlife walk the streets and they have a high school right down the road and the elk love the football field . But back to the location beats west Yellowstone entrance and the mile long / 2 hour wait !!!! Staff were awesome and gave a map of Gardiner and shows you what’s around town 10/10 !
Rooms: Bathroom /shower and A/C the 3 things ya need
Nearby activities: Yellowstone NP

Stayed for a night in the renovated wing. Location wise amazing! Simple motel that's overall okay.
Bedsheets are very rough on skin, gives us itchiness over night. We didn't see bed bugs so probably just the sheets are too washed too many times and need replacement. Same things with the towels, they are more like the car wash towels than body towels. A lot of small flying bugs found dead by the sink over night, they seem to be attracted to lights. Luckily we didn't get any bites.
Note that the walls are somewhat thin, we can hear some banging noises from our neighbors and stumping from upstairs. Fortunately, everyone seems to be exhausted from their day activities and the room is very quiet during sleep hours.
Definitely reasonable for the price!

Stay in Gardiner or Cody to see Yellowstone. The line to West Yellowstone was miles and miles of dead stop! Poor people. Yuck! Gardiner had no lines. As for the hotel, it was fine. It's dated. We stayed in the two room unit. The toilet is so low to the ground and tiny that my daughters had a laugh about it being the size you find in a daycare center. If you have mobility issues or bad knees, you're going to have a problem. There's nothing to hold on to. Most of the staff were great!! Chelsea was great when we booked. The night girl (not Chelsea, I asked) was really sour on her town and didn't bother to hide it
" I wouldn't even eat in this town," and other such comments. She was also snippy when google had us all turned around and we had to call for directions. She spoke like we were idiots.
Word of advice to her: With your attitude, you're not going to be happy in any town in the world. It's not where you live, it is where you live in your head that will bring you contentment. Look for the bright side.

Rooms are fine, quiet small and clean. There isn't really any service to speak of so it's sorta a wash, check in was easy, the wifi was very slow. The location couldn't be better, great little town really close to a park entrance with zero wait time. Would suggest to anyone who wanted a trip to yellow stone.
Noteworthy details: We were informed there was a bear about the hotel and town. I have not adjusted the rating based on the bear as I hadn't an opportunity to interact with the bear in any way to determine how he changed my experience.

We arrived in Gardiner with a reservation at another Hotel in town that we made through an online booking company. That online company didn't make the reservation for us and it was getting late in the evening so we started calling every Hotel in town. These guys had a cancelation that just came in and we called right before they turned on the vacancy sign. This was a great find, right on the Yellowstone River, located at the gate to Yellowstone, and in easy walking distance to restaurants. Nothing fancy but the rooms were clean and the people working there were amazing.
