I usually only have good experiences here but today I bought some items and the lady rang me up and I paid and she walked away with most of my stuff behind the counter in bags still so standing wanting my money back for the items I already paid for I had to ring the bell for assistance to get the rest of the stuff I had paid for I showed her my recipe and she became rood and said she knew I had already paid for the stuff, how she didn't know to put the stuff on the counter were I could legally grab what I had already paid for is beyond me, she was rood enough I won't shop at the family dollar if she has to ring me up I would have better luck with self checkout hopefully they get one soon,I used to spend a lot of money there every day until there's a self checkout I don't need anything from the family dollar bad enough to argue about things I just paid for that I didn't receive,I hope no one else has to experience this it's usually me and my family's favorite store

I really like family dollar, they have everything. The people that work there are real nice and are happy to help you in any way you need. I am disappointed in the clothes now, they used to have cool clothes like plaId shirts. Other nice shirts. But now it seems mostly just tshirts. Janet Massey

I've always loved the dollar store but latetly I wonder about it. Alot of shelves bare and no clothes hardly. The people at work there are great, and really nice. I just hope it stays open.

I think it's a little hidden gem. I downloaded the Family Dollar app to save even more. Nothing in there is more than $20 and that's the most expensive thing. Living in Hamilton, the only place to get laundry detergent or cleaning supplies or body wash/soap is at Super 1, Walgreens, or Albertsons. These places all carry about the same scents or "flavors" if you will, of soaps, detergents, cleaners etc. Walgreens still carries the biggest selection of hair care items... shampoos, conditioner, hairspray etc. But it's all expensive! I'm a huge fan of Gain Moonlight Breeze and it's a scent thats hard to come by, even in Missoula post-pandemic. I've actually noticed a huge difference in the amount of selection available for certain types of cleaners, detergents and soaps in the bitteroot and Missoula and everywhere honestly. They have my moonlight breeze flings, dryer sheets, in wash scent boosters, wax melts, and febreeze plug ins. Pretty cool. I can get all of those things for around $30. I think thats a steal. Plus they have a HUGE selection of actual soap. Soap to clean your body with. They have scents of body wash that hard to come by (I'm a huge fan of Tone Havana Blue Rose and it's the only place I can find it.) They have shower curtains, welcome mats and hangers (hard to find in the bitteroot anywhere). It keeps me from having to make the 80 mile round trip to Missoula for basic things...and lessens the amount of trips I have to make to Walmart when I'm in Missoula...which gives me a chance to make a stop somewhere else while I'm there. I feel like I can never get out of Missoula once I'm there and it's exhausting to me...if I can avoid Walmart I will....and since my cleaning supplies are all available out here, I can go to Target instead of Walmart when I'm there...and that's a huge plus for me. You have to beware of the fine print on their sales though. I made a recent trip and found once I had everything rung up that the sale was Saturday only. Making the short trip to Darby to get the things I like is well worth it. They accept food stamps. It's always pretty neat and organized in there. Staff is friendly and helpful...good down to earth folks. If you're visiting from out of town or out of state and need something cheap they have foil, cleaners, dishes, clothes, diapers, toilet paper...you name it they have it...it might not be the greatest of whatever it is you need...but they will probably have something that will work...and it's all cheap so if you're ballin' on a budget like this mama it's a great place ...plus they have name brand stuff too...so it's cool. You never know what you might find there too. Maybe a little treasure here and there. Love that place.
