One year ago I bought a Napa auto battery and this year I brought it back for them to check after it died for no reason. They hooked up a diagnostic device and replaced the battery immediately. They are not allowed to install, he loaned me the exact tools to remove it based on my car model. It was a flawless installation that took about 7 min. When the defective battery was first installed the cables sparked gigantically. You must have everything turned off before installing a battery as sparking can occur. You must also connect the cables in a specific sequence to avoid sparking. I did both but no matter, there were huge, gigantic amount of sparks installing that first battery. It was scary.
After the install I had Auto Zone perform a Charging System-Battery check as I wondered if it harmed my Alternator. It checked-out okay.
But now I wonder if that sparking was a sign that the battery was defective.
The new battery did not spark at all during the install.
I have always bought NAPA batteries and they last years longer than they are rated. The bad one was a Factory Assembly Line "one-off" !
Every assembly line has that one-off item that gets by the inspector.

From bad to worse. Every manager change seems to make this place worse. They never say hello or anything and all the good counter guys have moved on. I was a napa guy up unil this store. I would call and order and then you call again next week asking for an update and they forget to order it. Just dont expect too much and you wont be disappointed. Ive been flatheaded too many times here to go back and my customers are not happy with waiting a week just for a part that Napa forgets to order

Joe Wheeler has lots of experience at being a sales man an he's so full of himself he thinks he's always right. But he doesn'take care of his fiance or family obligations. He's not a man of his word an doesn't take time to make sure his partner is able to also have a vehicle to get to work

I receive specials and other deals from Napa online, and this franchise has recently chosen not to honor them any longer. Sooner or later you are going to have to step beyond the 1990's and understand that you can't rely on only the walk in customer who likely doesn't have the internet to compare prices. Corporate Napa obviously sees the issue as they are attempting to at least start to try to catch up to the other local parts stores who have a connected online presence to their physical stores. Honestly, his store is completely lost every time I place an order online! You are more expensive on most everything- but that was fine when you would honor the online sales, as you do have some harder to get items. Good products- but come on...why not honor the advertised sales from your own brand?
