It's not Cabela's or Bass Pro but they have a good selection, especially focused on hunting and fishing. I came in just looking for a new jacket, hat and socks and at first could not find much. Then a helpful staffer pointed me in the right direction, including a clearance rack where I found an excellent jacket. So I left with everything I needed. I love that it's next door to REI so you can shop both.

Sportsman’s isn’t the place it used to be. I’ve had several bad experiences here recently. First and foremost, the employees seem to have no knowledge or experience of gear or equipment. I went in to purchase a fixed blade knife, and the person who helped me didn’t know the difference between that and a folding knife. This isn’t the employee’s fault, he seemed genuinely happy to help. The store should provide better training. I can’t imagine it’s fun for the employees to be asked questions they don’t know the answer to. There is the occasional knowledgeable individual. I’ve had a very good experience with a gentleman stocking the ammo section. He knew a lot and was also very kind. But, for the most part, I feel like a good amount of employees there would rather work anywhere else and seem genuinely bothered when you ask a question. This past rifle season my fiancé misplaced his draw tag and needed to get it reprinted. He called to see if they were able to reprint it, and the woman helping him said no. I called around to several other places in town, all of which either closed that department since it was later in the day, or had a printer that was broken. One store did inform me that sportsman’s was capable of printing the tag, there’s just a specific employee that works at sportsman’s who doesn’t like to. That store informed me that I could get my tag if I went in person and didn’t go to the register that woman was working at. It’s absolutely ridiculous that printing tags is part of your job and you’re too lazy to do it. I get having a bad day at work and not wanting to put in full effort, but that fact that this happens so often that other stores in town are aware of this problem is just bizarre. We decide to drive to the store and go in. Thankfully that woman wasn’t working the register, and some other employee was able to print his tag without issue for $5.Their return policy has become disappointing. They recently (maybe in the past few months or so, but I could be wrong) changed their return policy to 30-days. Over the holidays, people tend travel out of town to visit family. In my case, I went out of town for a funeral and some doctor appointments. I came back after the holidays slightly past the 30-day return window to exchange a gift I bought for someone. I understand having a policy I’m sure returns disrupt cash flow and inventory. However, for the ~$300 I spent, a simple exchange for the right thing should have been no issue. Especially during the holidays when people have better things to worry about. I miss their 60 (or 90 I can’t remember exactly what it used to be) day return policy.I miss the store Sportsman’s used to be. It has gone so far downhill over the past few years. I’d recommend going anywhere else. I really hope they’re able to turn things around.

Went to pick up an online order 4 hours after receiving the order confirmation. The girl at the register (purple sweater, long blonde hair) was rude from the start. We didn’t have an issue with the fact that she was asking questions or with the questions asked, but with the absolutely nasty attitude with which she asked them. She honestly shouldn’t be in a customer service position. Couldn’t be bothered to look at us, body language not even slightly angled toward us, and acted like everything we asked was the dumbest question she’d ever heard. When she told us that the order wasn’t ready and that we would get an email when it was ready for pickup, we asked if we could cancel the order since we’re on a time crunch. Apparently that was also a ridiculous thing for us to say and ask, judging by her tone when she vaguely gestured to something taped on the counter and told us to “call them, it’s not in our system yet.”Okay fine, we took a picture of the information to call once we left the store. We still needed snow shoes and spikes for the last minute hiking trip, so we went and grabbed the few items we needed. There was a very sweet older lady on the floor that asked if we needed help finding anything, and honestly, shes the only reason I’m giving two stars. We had already found what we needed so we said no thank you and made our way to the register again. We got back to the register and were relieved to find that we were being helped by the other cashier, a younger guy wearing a hat. He was nicer, but definitely also seemed bothered by us being there.

Extremely over priced and very rude employees who can not answer basic questions such as what is the price of these boots and is that the sale price. They argued and said they didn't know. Pretty bad when they can't even mark prices on the products. 2 separate times 2 very rude customer service interactions.

In July purchased a double package of bear spray. Ended up realizing we already had enough bear spray. 7 days later tried returning the unopened package and manager refused to allow me to make the return claiming it was corporate policy. I checked with a different Sportsman Warehouse and they said they had no such policy for their store. I've been a customer of this store for years, but will no longer shop here. Do yourself a favor buy the bear spray next door at the REI store they allow returns for unused and unopened bear spray packages.

Bought a brand new shotgun from sportsman's last year, the gun broke a few weeks later , I took it back so they could fix it in March, checked on it in August and they had not done a single thing , not even order parts. Now it's mid November and I still don't have that gun. The worst non caring customer service I've ever experienced. One simple part was all that needed to be ordered and not one of them can seem to follow up with it and get it done . Will not be going back !

SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND GO TO CABELAS INSTEAD!!We bought a walking stick, which was $70 by the way. When we got home and got it out of the package it was found to be defective as it would not lock. When we tried to return it a few days later WITH RECEIPT, they said they can’t return it without the original packaging…. Why do you need the original packaging? You can’t sell this defective item to someone else.On top of this, the bathroom was absolutely filthy with no soap, no paper towels, and a total mess.
