Great Western Banks change to first interstate banks full ownership took effect last Monday 5/23/2022.. Now you'll notice I didn't use capital letters for the proper name of my new bank. It wasn't an accident. The disdain I've built up for this company the last 10 days is astounding. I became a GWB customer in 2001/2 because of their business model and the feeling that I was important to them. Now here I am in 2022 with the exact opposite feeling! During the mobile application download I had to request a new password. "fib" sent me 2 passwords at a time each time I requested information. Neither of the passwords would work and I'd have to request a new password. Until the 3rd attempt where it locked me out of my account. Which I already couldn't access. So really it was more of a formality than anything. So I called customer service and waited for 44 minutes. I understand when things change they don't always change smoothly. So not a big deal. Then the phone as answered and I hear a click. Gone. Call them back. After 1 hour and 12 minutes I speak to a representative. We are on the phone for 15 or so minutes before she realizes she cannot help me. I must be transferred.. I never make it to anyone and sit in perpetual hold until my call is dropped. I call my local branch and of course they're not able to help. However, they only tell me this after they tell me that this isn't their fault. I never really blamed them but I'm not sure that's the attitude I want my forward facing representatives to have. Maybe a touch of sympathy. I don't expect them to drive to my office and sooth me with a Pat on the head and a warm welcoming hug but at least pretend to care. So I call each day while at work wasting over 30 minutes a day listening to their garbage hold music. It's a blend of elevator music and goth synth jazz. I'd rather listen to lava rocks in a 12 speed blender. The sound of an orphan cutting themselves to Robert smiths the cure would triple the level of my happiness. I've yet to get anyone to help! Actually I've yet to speak to anyone that seems to enjoy their job or wants to help me. So I've started the process of switching banks which sucks out loud. But I'm going to a local bank and know my experience will be much better.. In all sincerity I don't think it could get any freaking worse. All the time I've had to think about this the one thing I'm grateful for is.. At least it's not US Bank.. seriously.. screw them too!

I have banked with them for years and have been very happy! I like the local service much better than the big banks. I very much recommend them!

Just needed some questions answered about a loan and the person that helped us was completely rude and got offended just for asking some questions about an account we have with them. No help at all, just threw a number at us and told us to call. Worst service ever.

They reopened a closed account, overdrafted it $1500 then I found out after they sent me a letter showing the negative balance and several late fees on top of it. Employee at branch and customer service were rude and it took me countless hours to ‘rectify’, and I still had to come out of pocket to avoid collections. Worst bank I’ve ever had.
