Prepaid months in advance and when I get there, they have NO CARS!!! Had to wait, along w all the others ahead of me, for them to clean the dirty cars so that they were ready to be rented out again. THEN when I return it with a FULL tank of gas, they still charge me $21.58 in fuel charges… TOTALLY DISORGANIZED AND SLOPPY AND WRONG. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! If you do, then don’t prepay so that you can cancel and go to any of the other good rental services.

Easy to find in the airport terminal. The customer service person had our paperwork ready. We ended up getting a free vehicle upgrade. It was easy to find our car and returning it was no problem either. Will definitely use them again because of our positive experience.

The vehicle we received was poorly maintained. It was low on oil, washer fluid and needed wiper blades even though it only had 14,000 miles on it. However, the associate at the counter was very nice and patient.

We showed up to get our rental car and they had rented it to someone else. We had already pre-paid in advance and every other rental car at the airport is sold out. So now I’m stranded in a state I’m not from hours away from our destination because they wanted to overbook. Not happy and do NOT recommend using this service if you don’t have a back up ride readily available

I rented a car for a week long trip out of state. I was disappointed in that the front tires were worn down to the wear bar in the tread. I was worried the front tires would blow out before I got back home. Fortunately, I made it back home safely.

The good...car was an upgraded unit from what I selected, staff upon pickup was great, staff at drop off not so much, except for the girl who was in training. She was doing what she was told and had great customer service skills. The bad...Found out after I made the first reservation that I was on the Do Not Rent list even though I have never rented from them. Communication with their "security group" is via email only and on seven-day intervals. After 14 days, I was removed, one day prior to my flight, without any explanation on how I got there in the first place, even though they said, "don't do IT again." Prior to receiving the email showing I was removed, I cancelled my reservation and had my wife make one to ensure I wasn't walking. When I dropped off the car at noon on the last day, Budget didn't log it in until 7 hours later resulting in late charges that I had to fight to get taken off. Final billing shows seven separate charges/credits on my card for two reservations, one of which was cancelled. Really?? Seven charges. Come on now.The ugly...a shout out to Custer County Sherriff Deputy who was kind enough to let a fellow Texan go with a warning for expired tags and insurance! Tags had been out for a month and insurance had been out for 7 months! When I told the staff, the girl in training was apologetic, the senior agent he pretty much didn't care. In fact, another customer at the counter said that's normal for them! The end credits...Hidden price increases, difficult to understand invoicing that uses common core math, questionable billing processes, and failure to manage insurance and registration docs, and finally their guilty until proven innocent mentality with their DO NOT RENT LIST??? Yea, I might have to look elsewhere next time.

The only positive was that they were the least expensive rental of all the car companies including Costco by more than $150.00! Lack of customer service to say the least, they ignore you for at-least 5 minutes while they literally stand right in front of you organizing papers. Then when ready say how can I help you? The carbon copy diagram of car only has 2 little dings marked on it but they say add more if needed. The car was trashed dings, scrapes windshield damage, wheel scratched with yellow paint etc. my only hope is they don’t try to hold me accountable for their lack of inspections before me. Honestly I would rent again only because of pricing at the time.

I would strongly recommend NOT renting from Budget in Billings. I'm a FastBreak member and have rented cars all over the U.S., and this is by far the worst experience I've had. Here's why: I rented about 6 weeks ago, and I just received a claim notice ($2,800) for damage to the tip of the hood. However, I didn't hit or even tap anything during the rental period, and the car was parked such that this type of damage couldn't have even occurred during my brief trip. Now I have to work with insurance and my credit card to see if there's any recourse. I probably won't even have to pay anything out of pocket, but this is just wrong. I can only assume that someone else caused the light damage but they didn't notice, and now I (and my insurance) are hosed.Very disappointed. To anyone that does rent there, take lots of before and after pictures with clear dates so you don't get screwed over too.

Budget is no budget. Multiple penny ante up charges were attached to every item. I was charged $16 for gas specifically added because I returned the car full after driving only 30 miles. Also, a $10 per day charge to include the partner airline's frequent flyer number. A $10 "change" fee to add one more day's rental at $140 for the smallest Kia made. I felt exploited and used by the experience. Rent elsewhere!

Our are flight schedule changed and we arrived an hour and a half early. Despite having a reservation, budget says come back in an hour and a half. Unbelievable!!

Ugggg wish I could give negative stars I was at the counter tonight along with some others. The customer service skills are sub par at best. My experience with tonight was so poor I will not be renting with Budget again at this location. I work here in Billings once a month. I understand short staffing and things happen, I am actually not upset I waited an hour and 30 minutes for a car to get clean, but what I won’t tolerate is someone that does not keep you informed, doesn’t respond to your questions, doesn’t offer solutions and speaks very condescending to everyone including other staff members. Big miss today on behalf of this budget counter. Btw after an hour of waiting for my reservation to be ready I asked for a dirty car I didn’t care I needed to be to work, not only did They not answer my request or help offer me a solution to getting a car. several workers we told no when they requested I be able to just take a dirty car… update spoke with the branch manager nothing but excuses and to be honest blaming of her people and revealing personal associate information. After speaking to her I absolutely won’t use this facility my only hope is someone corrects the poor leadership and behavior so that families that have saved to vacation in this area don’t have the same experience and have to wait 90 minutes for a rental. The options are very limited in Billings. Wanted to mention the branch manager was at the location and overheard of my situation not only did she not come out and make it right or speak to me, she exited to go clean a car… why she did not speak to me and make this right is beyond me

When I rented, I set up two separate week rentals. When I picked up my first one, I asked about simply using the same rental for the second week. I inquired about whether I needed to come on for the second week or if I could call in. They said call in with the mileage. They said ask to them to transfer the second rental to the first one. Skip to the end of week one. By the way, I picked up at 11:30 a.m. the first week. I live out of town. 55 miles. I called in this morning at 11:07 a.m. The man working the counter this week said they could not do that since it was prepaid separately. So, we went to the airport. We were there by 12:10 p.m. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the double talk from the same Budget office. Anyway, we seemed to get it handled. Then, I saw an extra $50-some charge. When asked, he said the car was checked out at 11:00. I informed him it was 11:30! AND, I was told I could transfer it over the phone, which he said they can’t now. I also told him that I had to travel in as a result. I protested the charge again. He said he would refer it to the manager. Anyway you cut it, the charge is ridiculous being that it is the same car and they made me travel in after telling me I did not need to travel in. I know the worker was frustrated by what I was told. He admitted it could be his mistake. But still, the charge was put on my card. He took the paper into the office for a manager’s review. If they make the charge right, it still does not make up for the hassle from 55 miles away. We will see if they truly do what is right. Here is hoping.

I'm a Budget Fastbreak client which simplifies the whole process and avoids the hassles the are associated with renting a car. Budget has always been reliable for me and that is something I value. Join the Fastbreak and take a break from the usual- sounds like a commercial :) but I didn't get paid for it.

My recent experience with Budget Car Rental was extremely positive. The entire check-in as well as check-out process was easy and efficient.
