Unfortunately since the new store (Baker) has been built customer service from some of the staff and maintenance inside of the store has been very poor. My worst experience to date was when I exchanged a broken chicken waterer. It was the second one we had purchased from this store that broke (we hadn’t exchanged before this). The second one we bought was on July 27 and it broke August 21st. Frustrated with our luck we went to exchange this time for a new one. I went in August 22nd and asked to exchange. The cashier said they would only return items after a couple of days and eventually said she wouldn’t make the decision on this. She told a man about it and heavily emphasized that it was USED. The man was very kind and said he could exchange it for us and even helped me get a new waterer. They didn’t have the same, but I happily paid the difference. When I got back to the front the cashier decided she would make the decision all of a sudden and decided I needed to produce a receipt or know the date of purchase. She seemed very annoyed when I gave a general time frame because it wasn’t me who came to purchase it but my husband. She questioned if I had even bought the waterer from them and mentioned IF we had bought it from them there are only a couple dates. I picked one that seemed to be the correct timeframe when I remember my husband went in to buy the replacement for the other one that broke. Trista came up to the cashier and involved herself. They printed a receipt and Trista hid the receipt from my view and asked “What’s the name on it?”. I said it should be my husband Ryan. It seemed like it was all a big game to them now and instead of honoring the exchange like the man had already mentioned they began asking me what was on the receipt that day. I wouldn’t know because I wasn’t with my husband. They printed the second receipt with a waterer from that day and when they confirmed it had my husbands name on it they finally gave in and let me do the exchange. Guess what? This same waterer had the same issue as the last one exchanged 8/22 and now it is 9/9 and broken. We kept the receipt on our fridge because I don’t feel like being harassed by the cashiers again especially after the decision was already made that they would honor the exchange. Why was any of that necessary? Other issues we have had is empty or partially full endcaps with no signage or prices, no bin tags on any seasonal products or on regular merchandise, employees who you have to hunt down for help and when you do find one they point to where the product should be rather than walking with you to the product and closing the sale or attempting any add on sales, missing products from the shelf with several up top that could be down stocked, and inaccurate inventory counts from what is actually displayed on the shelf. For a brand new store I did give it some time, but by this point they should not be having these issues as frequently. My husband has walked into the store 15 min before close after racing to get there after work for a part and had a cashier harshly tell him they’re closing and he only has 15 min. The cashier could’ve simply stated “Thank you for shopping at Runnings. Is there anything we can help you find?” It’s really not that difficult. Maybe this store needs a visit from higher ups and a closer look at its personnel. I will gladly drive the distance to receive better treatment from Tractor Supply in Glendive and not waste our money at a store with employees who don’t appreciate our business.

Apparently no one in the state of Montana is smaller than a 6. Disappointing but I also assume it's hard to get a wide stock variety out in the boonies. Nice folks though
